I inquired about a potential gig and received this response. "Thank you for your inquiry regarding this installation, but unfortunately this is below the minimum project size. -PFA" Polite enough but no other information or explanation given. It would be helpful if he has a website and FAQ so I would not have wasted my or his time, contacting him. I don't understand because there is a review by Jack A. only mentioning a bed frame and even saying it was prorated and less than 30 minutes. Annoyed by this response. Also the yelp estimate response time of 20 mins is nonsense. ETA: Received a few PMs from Ross and he seems BIGLY upset with me. To be fair, I have not worked with him nor is this review a comment on the quality of his work. There are plenty of reviews on here recommending his skill. I wrote this review based on MY experience and feelings. He could have provided more of an explanation as to why my job was not acceptable especially as I was making an inquiry and still unsure as to the scope of what I want done. If he is that busy he should have a website or some information to comment on his work and policies. It is unfortunate that he chose to become unprofessional via private message. Exactly one year ago, he came on over and assembled all of my bedroom furniture for me. I was nervous about moving in because my dad helped me move in all alone, and neither of us knew how we would ever get all this furniture together. Thankfully, I found precision furniture assembly, and was so happy that he had such a fair rate. SCHEDULING AND CONSULTATION: I recently purchased one of IKEA's popular PAX Wardrobes and was excited to put it to use. Upon getting it delivered, I realized the difficulty in assembling it and read online that because of the size, it usually takes 2 people or more to build it. That's when I contacted PFA for assistance. Ross answered the call and scheduled an appointment on a timely basis. He asked detail questions about what furniture and parts needed to be built and was able to offer a quote right away. Following that consultation, he was able to pencil me into his schedule right away for the next day. ASSEMBLY: Ross is an expert at building all IKEA furniture, especially the PAX Wardrobe series. He came on time for all of his appointments and wasted no time in the assembly. He was able to complete the entire wardrobe in a little over an hour, without the use of the manuals and without any mistakes. Seeing how well he performed, I asked if he could also help assemble my bed too, as I had little time to assemble all my furniture during my move-in to my new apartment. He was very accommodating with my schedule because I work full-time, and came on a Saturday morning to finish the bed in 20 minutes. He also helped with the installation of wall shelves in my room as an added service. FOLLOW-UP: I had 2 sets of shelves to be put up but Ross was able to put up only 1 because I mis-purchased a piece for my 2nd shelf. Ross was nice enough to explain to me how I can build the 2nd shelf myself and even gave me some of his parts for free. PFA highly values customer satisfaction and feedback. Upon finishing, Ross asked for a review of his work. And even after his job was done, Ross was very responsive whenever I would text him with any questions I may have. Ross did a fantastic job and completed the wall mounting of my 50" tv nt quickly and professionally. He also cleaned up the dirt/ residue from the wall as a result of the holes he had to make in the drywall and left the place as-is. What I liked the most was he worked with me to figure out the best viewing angle and recommended keeping the tv at a tilt instead of backup against the wall- I love the setup and it makes for great viewing. Called and asked for an estimate on a complicated Ikea product (a daybed with horrorific product reviews on the Ikea site, all complaining that the product is impossible to assemble even for handy people and doesn't work correctly after assembly) prior to pulling the trigger on buying it. He then gave an honest estimate on price and time (said it would be done in an hour, I figured it would be closer to three) and he completed it in less time than he expected and it works perfectly. Most recently I purchased an IKEA kitchen and I was going to have my usual contractors do the installation but I thought it would be best to find someone who specializes in IKEA systems. In my search to find such a contractor, I went on Houzz.com; it is there that I found a very limited number of companies/contractors that specialize in IKEA assembly and installation. My list of options was cut even smaller because I had already assembled the cabinets. Most companies do not do what they consider "partial" jobs. Precision Furniture Assembly (PFA) was one of the few companies that had no qualms with the cabinets already being assembled. Ross of PFA got back to me in a timely fashion; he asked pertinent questions and in a matter of a day I was given a price quote and date and time for the installation. I'll admit I was a bit nervous working with someone new and this soared when Ross showed up alone with a duffle and book bag. However, my anxiety was completely alleviated when he jumped right in and began putting things together without so much as glancing at the manuals I had so neatly organized. Ross is so familiar with IKEA systems that he knows every screw IKEA uses and where they go. And, in those little bags he had everything needed to complete the installation of my 15 cabinets in 12 hours flat. What I most appreciate about his work is the precision. I am a pain to contractors because I can see when something is an 1/8 of an inch off. Well, so can Ross. Throughout the process he would stand back and look at his work and if something were off he would make the appropriate adjustments. He stayed true to the name of the company. As a resident of Brooklyn, the only drawback is this company does not really service Brooklyn. However, if you have a big enough job, an exception will be made. read more
