Warning Do not use this company Brother Fix, If you think your job will be done less than 3 hours. you should consider other handyman companies. They charge you minimum 3 hour service call including 4% service fees, which is around $540!! No one explain or warn you this before signing the contract. They just said the work would take approx. 3 hours so I have to sign the contract to reserve my spot. In my experience, two men came and done the work within 40mins (did not care about all the boxes and trashes) and left. And the handy man never asked me whether I wanted them to wear a mask during the shift or not. Also Smell badly of cigarettes. I called the company and they said they are not able to get me a refund for other 2 hours. They explained 3 hour minimum service call = team labor + all the traveling charges from Brooklyn to JerseyCity, Even they left earlier than 3 hours. They told me that they were going to brought up this issue and call me back, but no one call me back ! If I could I would like to give them 0 star. read more

Appointment set for Sunday, between 8AM-11AM. At 11:15AM some guy calls to inform me the assemblyman would arrive between 1-2PM. Mind you, they insist I stay on premises for the entire 3 hour job so I can perform a walthrough at the end. I Canceled right then and there. I will not have my time wasted and monopolized. I would give zero stars if I could. Don't bother with these jokers if you value your time at all. 1st Appointment: Cancels with less than an hour notice due to weather and rescheduled for the same time the next day. The weather wasn't too bad, and one hour is pretty short notice so I was a little annoyed, but I can give him this one. Cut to: the next day. I leave work early so I can let these folks in to my apartment to install my blinds. The "two hour window" for my appointment comes and goes. My calls and texts go unanswered. I'm pretty annoyed by this point since I wasted my entire afternoon waiting on these jerks who don't have the courtesy to let me know they won't be making it, or at the very least pick up the phone or answer my texts. The following day around noon I get a profuse apology and a promise that they'll be at my apartment at 3pm to do the work as agreed. I think you know what happens here... THEY DONT SHOW! Nor do they call to offer any sort of excuse or explanation, or respond to me in any way shape or form I guess the joke's on me for giving them a third chance. Hired this company for a two-part move. First was disassembly of a wall bed, and the second to assemble it a few days later in my apartment. Same crew both times. First time great, did the job, friendly, fast. Second time, assembly, assembled the bed incorrectly, the left side of the bed dropped approximately two inches every time I laid down on it with a loud bang. I asked if they could repair it, got a lot of assurances they would but a week later...nothing. Escalated the situation, Peter Linkowik emailed to say they'd take care of it. A week later a lot more promises, yet they were still NEVER available to do the work. Two weeks was long enough to deal with this mess. I had to hire someone else to do the job that I had already paid Furniture Assembly NYC to do. Thanks guys! Buyer beware, if there's a problem with the work, they will not fix it. This is not cheap labor. They charge a premium, and for the money I expected premium labor. I didn't get it. There are a lot of companies in NY offering this type of service, it maybe be worth a few quotes and if you choose Furniture Assembly NYC, I strongly advise a written labor contract. FANYC was right on time, professional and did a great job assembling my IKEA couch and cabinets. They also hung some window blinds for me. A couple of the blinds needed a few adjustments and special hardware and they took care of it with flying colors! Highly recommend!! read more

They picked up items at Ikea (bed frame, chair, table, loveseat, dresser, desk, coffee table, lamp) and assembled the pieces, as well as hanging shades and hooks. They really came through. The technician, Zach, came prepared, was trustworthy and friendly, and worked carefully and quickly to assemble a wooden kitchen cart. He also cleaned up well. These guys started shopping at IKEA within 15 minutes of getting my business at about 1:50 on a Saturday afternoon. Everything they promised was delivered in the time frame they promised (I needed to be done by 6:30 PM). They went to Ikea and purchased the closet. They built a new, smaller PAX closet and took down my larger one very carefully (and with as little damage to the walls as possible). Mark, Eddie and Arthur were careful, considerate, efficient and all-around nice guys. They made sure to clean up after themselves too. Will definitely use them again. read more

On Wednesday of this week I called this company and spoke with someone named Mike. He answered the phone promptly and I told him that we needed an entertainment center built in Montclair, NJ. He asked if I could text him or email him pictures of what needed to be built, together with the ZIP Code of where the job was. He said he would send me a quote once he got that information. I promptly texted him pictures of the unit in the box, and the ZIP Code. He responded very quickly telling me that it would cost $90 for them to build the unit, and he could do it tomorrow (Thursday) at 6 PM. I said that was great and we were good to go. I texted him the address in Montclair and we were set. I was having this unit built for my daughter. She has used these kinds of services twice in her two moves in Manhattan. Both times they were building IKEA furniture. Each company (2 different ones at 2 different times) did a great job, came promptly, finish the work quickly and beautifully, cleaned up after themselves and left. Great experiences with both companies. Not so much with this company. The next day my husband and I went to our daughter's apartment in Monclair (a 45 minute drive in rush hour traffic from where we live) to wait for these guys as my daughter and her husband work in Manhattan and couldn't get home by 6pm to meet them. I texted Mike at 3:51 (more than 2 hours before the appointment) on Thursday, the day of the appointment to confirm that they were coming. No response from Mike. I didn't think much of it. At 5:23 I texted him again, and simply said "Mike?". Again, no response. I tried calling. No answer. At 6:03 PM I texted him and said "hello Mike, we are here waiting for you". Again, no response. I called him. He finally answers and tells me that his guys' truck broke down on the turnpike, AN HOUR away from where we are (keep in mind, they were already suppose to be at the apartment, NOT an hour away) and he will get back to me by 6:30 and let me know if they can make it or not. Honestly, I did not believe that they had broken down but I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. 6:30 came and went and no phone call. At 7:02 I texted him and said "Mike?? What is the story?? ". At 7:08 I sent him a text saying I was very disappointed in how this has turned out and that I understand that unforeseen things happen, but not communicating with me and letting me know what was going on was terribly unprofessional. No response. At 7:31 I texted him and said "sorry we will have to review you on yelp this way. So disappointed". At 8:05 he finally texted me. 8:05!!!! This is what he said: "hey I'm really sorry for the bad communication we were trying to solve our problem today and we lacked on the responding to you I understand why you want to give us a bad review but we would like to fix our mistakes and we solve this problem. If you still would like we are able to come to you this Sunday ". This is a direct quote. There is no way now that I will use these guys. Ever. They were terribly unprofessional. They didn't call, knowing full well that they were going to be late. I believe they were not telling the truth when they said they were broken down on the highway. He never responded to me until I told him that we were going to review him on yelp. And then all of a sudden he wanted to "fix" his "mistake". No thanks. I would NEVER recommend these guys. Do NOT USE THEM. They are TERRIBLY unprofessional and UNRESPONSIVE. And I believe, untruthful. This whole thing could have been avoided had he kept in touch with me and let me know what was going on. That was all it would've taken. As I said, I know things happen that are out of everyone's control. I understand that. But there was absolutely no reason he couldn't have kept in touch with me. read more
