We took my daughter in for a hair assessment for her curly biracial hair, and as a special treat to help build her self-esteem and help her understand how to care for her beautiful natural curls. Theo and her team were incredibly welcoming to my daughter and did a wash, conditioning treatment, detangle, and twist-out style for her that looked incredible. They were very gentle and thorough! I was so impressed that I came back the following week for my own haircut-- I have fine, straight blonde hair and finicky bangs and Theo worked her magic on them-- I absolutely love my new style! The blow-dry I received was mediocre and didn't last at all -- you can see in the attached photo that it just fell frizzy and uneven. The stylist also ruined my balayage color while touching up the roots. I had only asked for a trim, but she ended up cutting off all my layers and giving me a very average style. Having gone to some of the best salons in NYC, I can say this place is far from professional -- it's mediocre at best and lacks quality. To make things worse, the stylist next to me was extremely rude. While blow-drying his client's hair, he blew all the cut hair right onto me (disgusting!), and even pushed my stylist aside at one point -- causing her to stumble into me. Completely unacceptable behavior. This salon may look high-end with all the branded products on display, but it operates more like a noisy barber shop. I won't be coming back -- the atmosphere is toxic, and it's impossible to relax or feel pampered here. My haircut is ruined, the frizz wasn't treated, and the color has been botched -- it's taken all the vibrance out of my hair. I now look like I have a boring hair.

I just wanted to trim my bob without looking like a puffball (I have a round face, and Asian hair protests against volume), and she did just that while restyling my layers. It's been about a month since then, and my hair still looks good (with maybe one area that's grown out a bit flippy). I'm not sure if I'll be totally changing stylists quite yet, but Aguri has gained my trust.
