We shared the So Mushroom (white pizza with basil, cremini mushrooms, grass-fed mozzarella, mascarpone, fresh garlic, grana padano, sea salt, cracked pepper, lemon zest) and garlic fingers. I would rate the So Mushroom 8/10 as I thought it tasted good but felt the absence of much sauce made it less enjoyable. Loved the basil in it though! I loved the garlic fingers (fresh garlic, mozzarella, chili flakes (light), parmesan, freshly chopped basil) which also came with East Coast Donair sauce (sweetened condensed milk, vinegar, and garlic) which complimented the garlic bread real well. Everything was prepared fresh and we ate it right there on the bar seats (there are a couple in the store) and really enjoyed it. We've been here twice and been very impressed. Ordering through the app and the pickup process is easy and efficient. They've got a very smooth process that makes it very quick to get our pizza! Easy to order and identify; they have an organized order system (with app or call) and they text you when it's ready. And the bright yellow and graphic lines makes it fast to spot! I've heard so many great things about Maker Pizza but unfortunately I wasn't mind-blown when I tried it. The pies appear to be marketed as gourmet (as reflected in their higher price points) but the dining atmosphere is catered more for takeout and fast casual. I appreciate that they have so many unique pie options that are all generously loaded with toppings, and I especially appreciate that they have "everything bagel crust" as an add-on because it was delicious, but I found that the crust was too hard and dry. I tried the Dr. Pepperoni and it was the bane of the roof of my mouth. While it goes without saying that pizza is best eaten fresh out of the oven, other brands tend to keep well after a few hours or even as next day leftovers. This is not the case here - since their crusts are already hard to begin with, they become even tougher after a short drive home or after delivery to a catered event. In my opinion, Maker Pizza could be a nice treat on a specific occasion where I can dine-in but it definitely isn't my go-to pizza place. read more

Food delivery driver here. Don't know what has happened at this location. Used to be, they had the food ready for pick up when they said that they would have it ready for pick up. But the last three times, they did not have the food ready, and it would not be ready for at least 15 minutes. Tonight took the cake, arrived exactly when they said it would be ready, and they hadn't even started it! Another restaurant that feels free to jerk around delivery drivers, no skin off of their nose. But we lose time and money showing up when they tell us to show up, only to have to cancel because they are lying about the pick up time. As if they didn't know that they control the pick up time, and they should have the food ready when they said it would be ready. Not gonna pick up here for a couple of months, hope they get their grove back soon, or at least learn how to use deliver apps and stop jerking the drivers around. read more

Always great pizzas from Makers! The everything crust is a MUST! Tropic thunder with Italian sausage added is our go to, but all the other pizzas are just as delicious! The app is very convenient when it comes to ordering. The reason for my 4 stars and not 5, is because of the price. Makers is on the pricier side for just a pizza. Toppings are plentiful which is a plus, but it falls apart easily, whether super hot, mid or cold. It tastes pretty good, I would definitely have it over many other options, but truthfully it's not going to wow you to not want to get anything else. If i'm in Toronto, I have better options at a similar price. Would I go back? Maybe, maybe I need to try a different slice to give it another chance. Drove by and my dad mentioned that the place has looked to be really busy for years, but haven't been, so we decided to try it. There are two sizes, small and large. The only one that can do half and half is the half margarita and half dr. Pepperoni. We ordered it right when they opened on a Sunday. Service: They are really friendly and quick. The pizza came out in 15 minutes, and they offer curbside pickup. Food: My mom and I really liked the margarita pizza. The pepperoni cups were crispy on the edges and just the right amount of grease, but I thought it's on the salty side. My dad liked both halves. Curb side pick up experience The staffs that I met during pick up were friendly and handled the order well. They were always on time for pick ups so I barely have to wait. I ordered Napoli Dynamite and Dr. Perroni Pizza (got one for free). The pizza itself is amazing!! Lovely soft but crunchy crust. Oowey goowey cheese and the toppings are hmmm hmmmm delicious!! Parking at the Avenue location is pretty good, free, and there is a decent amount of space. As a Registered Nurse, I recieved only one free maker pizza (don't forget to bring your badge). I was craving pizza that had a decent crust and remembered that Maker Pizza now delivers through Uber Eats - great since we're trying to self-isolate. Although I was disappointed there weren't many options online at 5pm (all pizzas were sold out except for 4) and you could only order smalls, they luckily had what I wanted. My partner and I ordered a small Frank's Best and a small Dr. Pepperoni. A small has 4 large pieces each, so there's still plenty of food, but we usually try to have some leftover for the next day. The total came approximately $50 with tax and tip (no delivery fee). A little on the pricey side, but worth it. The Dr. Pepperoni and Frank's Best pair perfectly together with the former being quite salty, and the latter having a sweet taste. Can't wait to order again. read more

Go for your preferred flavour profile. Personal favourite is Napoli dynamite. Seems to me that their wings aren't ordered that regularly. It's actually very good. Close to same level as duffs which is very well reviewed by others. Side note- download their app and order through there. Pizza cravings satisfied :) Definitely a bit more expensive than your average pizza joint, but they do a lot of really fun combinations and they make 'em fresh! We waited about 30 - 45 minutes for our pizza but luckily there's a fun grocery store across the street where we were able to browse and pick up some drinks to go with dinner. Not much seating in here but definitely there's benches if you want to just eat it fresh (which i recommend). We got the Little Deuce Coupe which has delicious chicken and peppers and cheese. and then we paired with a white pizza - the Franks best. I would return again and again for Frank's Best. Honey and goat cheese and caramelized onions go so well together. You gotta get it fresh! It's a nice treat, but price point makes it a date night sort of thing more so than a regular everyday thing. We ordered delivery from Maker Pizza - a Frank's Best and a Dr. Pepperoni, and both were excellent. The Frank's Best was delightfully sticky with honey and you can't really beat the amount of pepperoni on the Dr. Pepperoni. The crust was also delicious. Even our toddler who doesn't normally like pizza really seemed to enjoy the sweetness of the honey-covered pizza. I would definitely order from this place again. Caveat - it took an hour and a half for the pizzas to arrive. That might have been the meal delivery service mind you and we had read a lot of reviews talking about the long wait time so at least we were prepared. I would say the wait was worth it! Freaking phenomenal. In a city packed with pizza places, Maker is up against some tough competition. And I'd rank it among the best. It's that good. During the Covid-19 apocalypse, I notice they've pared down their menu due to high demand. My favourite pizza on the regular menu was the Tropic Thunder (pineapple, pickled jalapeno, pickled red onion, roasted garlic, red chilies, fior de latte....a GENIUS combination, trust me). But honestly, with their perfectly chewy crust, quality ingredients and premium pizza-making technique, you really can't go wrong with any Maker pie. Self isolate and enjoy! read more

Maker Pizza is more of a grab-and-go establishment, although they do have a dine-in area, which expands outdoors when the weather is nice. Eating at the restaurant is key, as by the time the pizza travels home (for us a 7 min drive) that slight crispy bottom disappears. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great pizza, just not nearly as good as it tastes when it's fresh from the oven. It all started with the Tea With Broccolini ($17) and with that first bite I knew I'd want to come back again and again. You can feel the difference of their crust: the bottom is dry, slightly uneven in texture, and as thin as a cracker. It's a crust that can't go to waste... a perfect combination of crunchiness and chewiness, the consistency fluffy but still dense. As I bit through, I heard that satisfying crunch and my mouth erupted with flavours: a spicy kick from the chilies, garlicky greens, a mellow bitterness from the rapini, and the bright lemon zest finish. To cap everything off, there's the delicious creamy egg yolk. It's also a white sauce pizza (so there's no tomatoes), instead there's plenty of fragrant olive oil that drizzles onto your hands - grab a nice wad of napkins and a couple of wet naps, you'll need them. The Dr. Pepperoni ($18) is filled with the salty cured meat, to the point that some pieces overlap. Using smaller pepperoni slices is a genius idea as it creates more of the crispy edges and ensures the meat is cooked through. Of course, with all the meat, there's a real salty oiliness to this pie so you really need to enjoy pepperoni to love this pizza. A more toned down version is The Real Pep God ($17), where the pepperoni is balanced off with more cheese - double orders of the mozzarella so the cheese just pulls and pulls. Pools of sauce are dolloped over top and garnished with fresh garlic and chili flakes to add extra boosts of flavours. Maker Pizza's tomato sauce is delicious. Replacing the usual tanginess for a really fresh tasting sauce - it's almost like they just take plain canned tomatoes and crush them. In fact, everything about Maker's is fresh; you can see them prep the ingredients on site, chopping things down into smaller pieces. There's no vacuum sealed pre-prepared plastic packages here. My favourite red sauce pizza is the Little Deuce Coupe ($18), where the ingredients aren't overly strong so you can really enjoy the tomato sauce. It also seems lighter: the chicken in bite sized chunks and the buffalo mozzarella replaced with ricotta so even though there's a lot of cheese on the pizza, it doesn't seem too rich. It could use more of the red onion and basil, as the bites with both ingredients were great, while the others seemed plain. Maker Pizza creates New York style pizza, where the crust is thin and the slices are cut large so it can be folded. For the Little Deuce Coupe, because it's a milder recipe, it actually tastes better unfolded, so the ingredients have more of a chance to meet the taste buds. Conversely, the Return of the Mac ($24) needs to be folded. Overflowing with fresh crunchy lettuce and onions and so much mac sauce it's impossible to eat flat. read more
