Great tasting pizzas. Ordered a few times. Love their Margherita, Cheese Pizza, Tropic Thunder, Impossible Return of the Mac, and Cheese Pie. All very good. The crust is good on its own but even better with the great dipping sauces they have. Margherita and cheese are really solid, tasty versions of classic pizzas. Tropic Thunder was spicy and a little sweet. I really liked it but my wife thought it was okay. The first slice of Impossible pizza was really good. All different ppl after two months and I guess they need 20-30 employees working at once? Bodega sandwich was decent but I can make a better sandwich. Wings no The Reuben has the potential to be good. Too much meat made it sweaty, too much sauerkraut soaked the crust. Too much Russian dressing made the whole pizza wet and soggy. Couldn't hold up the pizza and the crust itself was paper thin so there was no way you could eat it without it being a mess or with knife and fork. A bit less ingredients with a thicker uniform crust would help! The Everything bagel crust with a bit of mustard on the edge made this pizza though. I have dreams about it You can also add the everything bagel crust to other signature pizzas too. this is a dine in only along with the return of the Mac. 4.5 stars... my favourite pizza north of downtown and worth the wait. I'm a tough judge of pizza... I dont believe mediocre pizza is good and that I should be just happy to get a slice. Nope nope nope. So when I read that Maker Pizza moved midtown, I had to stop by and see if they hype is real. Oh yes... yes it is. For starters, this is a serious pizza place... the whole operations had at least 10+ people working. I was very surprised and impressed when I walked in the doors. But before I go into the details of the place, I'll let you know that you might be able to call in your order ahead of time. I think it strongly depends on how busy they are. I do recommend to call in to figure out how long the wait could be. Worse case, you can always pop into the stores nearby to pass the time. About this parking situation, I've got to admit that if you come during the popular time for grocery shopping... it's going to be an utter fustercluck. It shares the parking lot with Pusateri. Not trying to judge... but a lot of the clientele park and drive their car like how they drive the carts in the store. Unaware, extremely slow, blocking your path, doing 25 point turns to get into a spot... just know that it's not pretty. You could park on the road. There's paid parking there and sometimes your sanity is worth the $2.50. About the restaurant, it's more of a take out spot but there are a lot of long tables for you to eat in if you want. It's clean with a lots of great windows to let in the light. It's a long space that is more industrial cool with a huge area for prep & pizza making. I spotted at least 3 dedicated people in prep and it was impressive as I saw them meticulously pick and chop every ingredient to the correct size and quality. There was also a grill for the chickens and at the time I was there, they had the whole space just filled getting cooked ... it just made the place smell incredible. In addition to all that, they had their pizza area. Another 4 or 5 people were there just making pizza constantly. A lot of take out was being done so it kept everyone moving. At 4 pm, I didn't have to wait that long... I did call in ahead of time and they got the pizza to me perfectly right on the dot. I think they were saying the normal wait is 20 minutes from order to getting the pizza into a box. As for the ingredients ... dear god this was good. I didnt see a single ingredient get poured out of a plastic bag or bottle. What I saw was a place that took pride in crafting a great pizza by hand. Little Deuce Coupe - My first whiff of this pizza made me pay attention... you can smell the smokiness of the lightly charred crust, the savoury great smells of the freshly grilled chicken, and the sharp sweet citrus from the lemon zest that topped the pizza. In addition to those ingredients, the also had roasted red pepper, red onions, basil, ricotta cream, mozzarella, fior di latte, and Parmesan. It all worked so well to create a rich flavour that made me eye the 2nd piece of pizza before I finished it first. That crust... wow. It's been a while since I've had a crust that was this fluffy on the inside but so well cooked to get a nice brown exterior that had that smokey sweet yeast flavour. Im just drooling recalling all this. A large pizza was more than enough for 3 people because they STACK this pizza. It's generous compared to all other places in Toronto. 4.5/5 Descendent Pizza was a fav... gotta add Maker now to that list. I'm actually a bit more partial to Maker as it's a bit lighter. There was no menu posted, but rather printed on a pamphlet that you can take home, so you can decide on what pizza you will get the next time you visit (Cause oh you'll be back for sure). On their menu they have a wide range of uniquely crafted pizzas that you can order, and ofc you can build your own. Everything sounded pretty legit, but we had to make a choice so we ended up with the Napoli Dynamite. Oh boy, this pie was out of this world. With every bite, you could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the passion that inspired the creators who designed this pizza. The flavours just blended so perfectly (with nothing overpowering each other) as the crust, cheese, and toppings performed a symphony for my taste buds. The crust was crisp on the outside, yet fluffy, soft and light on the inside. The creaminess and bouncy texture of the cheese paired with the italian sausage and peppers was just next level. Not gonna lie, probably one of the tastiest pizzas I've ever had. This location doesn't actually have that much space, so if you're with a larger group I would suggest opting for take-out. Omg. Best pizza I have had in Toronto. We ate the pizza on site and it was fresh out of the oven. We waited a bit since the place is popular, at this location they had places to sit (if you are wanting to eat here or wait to pick up). I ordered the dr. pepperoni and my friend Javier ordered the cool hand zucch. Both were full of complex flavors. The pepperoni is sourced from a farm in Ohio and so it's flavor is very much like the real pepperoni. None of that fake ass nonsense Canadian pepperoni (no offense Canada) ummm that's about it. We only had those two types of pizzas but I'm can say with certainty that the other types pizza profiles are the bomb. Oh also - while we waited i I decided to try the one sweet thing they have on the menu - which was the chocolate chip cookie. And boy does it live up to its name. Of being a majestic cookie. The place it very small, which is unfortunate, since the pizza is too good to carry out if you don't actually live nearby. We ordered a Dr. Pepperoni, as you do, since it's a classic and generally reliable. It was heaven. A light but fluffy crust (not thick, just fluffy) and the pepperoni were properly charred and filled with shots of pizza grease (as they should be). The small is $18 and the large is $31, he got the small. Napoli Dynamite pizza is house made Italian sausage, green olives, pickled jalapeños (which he removed when ordering), roasted red peppers, bufala mozzarella, mozzarella, parmasean and sea salt. I got a white based make your own pizza. Small is $15 and the late is $24 i ordered the small. It comes with mozzarella, Parmesan, fior di latte, olive oil, bufala mozzarella. Pizza is good but way overpriced. Had a small Margherita, which came to $16 + $1.50 for a tiny smattering of crimini mushrooms. That means Maker Pizza's pricing is on par with Pizzeria Libretto but a) Libretto's pizza is better in my opinion and b) you get to sit down in a nice restaurant with good table service which justifies the price. At the Avenue Road location, they have an outside seating area, but it's not serviced and right next to a busy street. (Also, the tables were very dirty. Maybe wipe them every once in a while?) For takeaway pizza, I would choose Pi Co. any time over Maker Pizza. (Pie Co. prices its Margherita at $10 and it's just as good.) read more

It's good pizza. The tables inside were all tall with stools, so we opted to sit outside on picnic tables for a bit more safety for kids. It wasn't the most cleanly, but it's outside and are picnic tables, it's no big deal. And yes, you hear the large trucks that drive by, but again, you are outside, so no biggie. The parking in the back wasn't an issue where we went but I can see how it could be on just days. The service and people were friendly. I'm definitely not as impressed as the others. Pizza was good, not outstanding, massively overpriced and under under-sized. Priced like a large pizza you can share with friends, but sized like a personal dinner size Pizza, quality was reasonable and flavors were good. The pizza was kind of halfway between New York and Napoletana style. Solid, definitely a step up from the take out pizza conglomerates, but nothing that will have me rushing back for a second round. I'll still be driving down to East York for a pie from Danforth Pizza House when I am craving a great pizza. The famous Bodega sandwich turns out to be a tiny 1/4 size sub with nothing but ham, lettuce, tomato and some olives on a tiny 5-6" inch slice from the middle of a sesame roll. Really? No genoa salami? No spressata? Once again the flavors were good, not mind-blowing, but the pricing and portion size were wildly out of proportion. My food came by DoorDash, so it also happened to be a little less than fresh and hot, so I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and go three stars, but I think 2.5 is a little more accurate. And if I drop over $40 bucks for a personal size pizza and a 6 inch sub, you're going to have to impress me more than this. All in all, it was pretty good.
