I absolutely LOVE my brows done by Kelly! Let me start with saying, I've always had very thin eyebrows (victim of the early 00s lol) but tried filling them in the best I could and I am a MUA. However, they were always uneven when I filled them in myself so I decided to get combo brows to skip this step completely in the AMs. Best decision ever!! At first, it took a long time for me to get used to my combo brows because they're bigger than I was used to; but I'm so happy I was patient with myself because now looking back at old photos, I cannot believe I left my house with my previous brows. Kelly is the sweetest and always makes me feel comfortable when I go in. She really has an eye for what will look good on your face shape. If you trust Kelly with your tattoo you won't regret it!!!! :)

Kelly did such an amazing job, I am so happy with her artistic gift. Combo Brows and Freckles!! Not only is she the best at what she does but she has such a great personality. Myka who checked me in was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable, she answered my questions I had while waiting for the numbing to work and made any anxiety I had go away, she too has a great artist eye and helped with the placement of my freckles (she has naturally beautiful ones) and did a great job with Kelly on where my faux freckles should be placed. I've wanted to have my already thick brows microbladed for awhile now and wasn't going to let just anyone do them. My brows are naturally thick but lacked an arch and fullness towards the middle, where I really wanted it. She knows the exact colors to use to match our skin undertones and brow hair. I knew that the 7 month wait would so be worth it. I am super super picky when it comes to anything done to my face, picking my tattoo artist, threading artist, so when I say Kelly knows what she is doing, I definitely mean that. I wouldn't leave a review if I just thought she did an "okay" job. She did an AMAZING job. Kelly created the cutest freckles, even better than I expected them to look. My toddler says they look just like "chocolate sprinkles"!!

Kelly is beyond amazing. Regular stencils don't work for me, so she hand drew the perfect brows for my face! She picked a perfect taupe for me (I'm blonde). She has excellent detailed instructions for before, and after your appointment. Before the appointment she applied numbing cream, so there is really no discomfort. And if all that wasn't enough, she has a heart of gold. She helps animals, camp fire victims, and breast cancers survivors. I will never go anywhere else. (The color in the picture is off, as it was right when they were done. It's much softer and taupe. I just had my touch up done yesterday, or I'd post a better picture. But you can see the amazing shape).

Kelly at Makeup Before You Wakeup is a MASTER microblading/beauty tattoo artist!!! I researched artists to do my brows for months. I found Makeup Before You Wakeup and started to follow on Instagram. After months of seeing Kelly's work, I booked an appointment. She is so sought after, she books several months out. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Kelly's facility in Roseville is absolutely adorable, clean and cozy. Kelly got me all set up in a room while the cream to numb my brows got to work. It was so relaxing and I felt well taken care of. She then moved me into the procedure room and took before pictures. The entire time we chatted away. I'm not a super social person, but Kelly was so dang sweet that she made me feel like we had been friends for years. We started with my brows...did I mention that her work was so impressive that I actually booked to get my lips done too?!?!? When she did my brows I felt no discomfort at all. She had me sit up several times to make sure my brows looked amazing, and then had me lay back down to keep working on the perfection that would be my brows! Once they were done, she started on tattooing my lips. At 45 years old, my lips had thinned and the color was very pale. Kelly fixed my lip border so they LOOKED plump, and filled with a gorgeous mauve color. They did swell during the procedure, but were back to normal the next day and looked lovely. I LOVE my lips and brows!!!

I was really excited to get my brows done because I basically didn't have any brows from the arch down. Kelly took the time to discuss with me and show me how my eyebrows were going to look before she started the microblading. This gave me peace of mind that my eyebrows would look great after they were done. And they do! I love the color she chose and how much fuller they look. The procedure was virtually painless. I was able to go to work a few hours later with just redness but no pain. I would definitely recommend Kelly be your person for your brows! I can't wait to see my brows when they are fully healed. I will post a pic after my touch up. Update: I just got my eyebrows touched up after about 6 weeks. They healed nicely and the touch up was fast and I still love my eyebrows. Wow! Ok... Kelly Devlin, the owner of Makeupbeforeyouwakeup is amazing. She is a perfectionist and a germaphobe lol A perfect combination for this type of procedure. She is thorough with her work and includes you every step of the way to make sure you like what's being done. She's very considerate about your comfort. She numbed my brows for 25 minutes and told me to make sure I let her know if I get uncomfortable and feel pain so she could add more numbing cream. The microblading was not bad at all! It felt like plucking and right now it just feels like I have a light sunburn on my brows. I hope this review helps. I've looked at many micro-blading artists for a long time and decided on Kelly after following her Instagram for a week because I loved how natural her work looked. Thank you so much!!!

So I came to her with very very very sparse eyebrows from plucking forever. I had searched around for super long trying to find someone and believe me when I say, I found the perfect one to transform me.. I went to her to tell her what I wanted and instead of jus flat saying no, she incorporated my desires but also knew what was best for me at the same time.. Basically she numbs you up for an hour, draws your brows on and then tattoos them for another hour or. As soon as you get them done, they are the color they turn out to be, BUT just to warn you they become PITCH BLACK during the first week or so.. By 7 days I was almost fully scabbed off and by 10 days!! They were back to the amazing color and shape before.. I may have her go a little bit thicker on my next touch up but beyond that she is amazing and perfect. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to get their eyebrows done!! She is an expert at her work and she's super cute and friendly!! Update!!!! Just got my touch up with my Angel.. Let me tell you she is AMAZING.. I am so happy with the touch up because I realized what I wanted, a bit thicker, after the first session and she was able to do it and make it look even more amazing the first round!! She is so cute, sweet and actually listens to what YOU want as a client!! I am going to try to update my picture so you can see it as it progresses... But I'm so excited to see the final product!!!!

UPDATE: Wow, Kelly is fantastic. I think she's just as much of a perfectionist as I am so she was just as panicked as I was when she found out I was worried about the shaping/evenness. She found time for me to come in the very next day and we made a few adjustments which she had called out right when she saw me. Now, they look absolutely perfect and I couldn't be more excited. I know several of my friends and family are already talking about scheduling appointments to have their eyebrows done by Kelly as well. Thank you, Kelly, for all your work and patience. You are so great at what you do! ------------------------------- I tried microblading for the first time today and Kelly was great. She walks you through everything you need to know about the process including aftercare and the numbing made the procedure virtually painless. As far as my brows, I'm used to a lighter, more natural look so the darkness and more dramatic shape is still making me nervous but she's assured me that both the color and thickness subsides after the healing process. I don't think my brows were ever very even to begin with but I'm realizing that it's much more important when your brows are darker. Kelly was really patient and spent extra time to make adjustments, even as other customers waited for their appointments, but I think we'll probably need a little more time to even them out. I'll make sure to post an update when it's all done!

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, I saw the before and after pictures on the Instagram account, and since I've always had thin eye brows I could not wait to get my appointment scheduled. I would like to just say "DITTO" to all the other reviews on here for Kelly. I was terrified to have my eyebrows microbladed. Not so much the pain part, but the "semi-permanent ink on your face" part. It's a scary thing putting your face in someone else's hands, but I am SO glad Kelly's were the ones I chose...First, she is a consummate professional. She knows her sh*t and communicates it well so us common-folk can truly understand what we're up against, what our responsibilities are, and what to expect. Furthermore, she is just a great human being who exudes positivity and warmth in such a manner that even the most anxiety-laden client (such as myself) will feel completely at ease and comfortable. And last, and most certainly not least, she is an ARTIST. I feel absolutely beautiful ! Kelly did an outstanding job that I thought was impossible. Seriously my eyebrows were stubborn. I went to her hoping for the best, and I got perfection! She didn't give up on my brows. Please go to her Instagram and see my before and after. If she can fix mine, she can do anything. I had a scar, I had patchy spots, I had short hairs and long Hairs, I had no shape. I didn't even know I had a color to my eyebrows. She whipped out her ink and blended colors nicely just for my unique eyebrows. She balences her expertise and your opinion nicely. And it helped a lot that she was personable because it really built that trust, considering I was nervous out of my mind because I was going to Tattoo to my face! Her space is nice as well. Kelly is incredible! She is a master at her craft. She is friendly, informative, and professional. I came to Kelly with my eyebrows previously tattooed by a different artist. They were the wrong color, size, and overall, just hideous. She fixed them, no problem! Knocked them out of the park! I can look at myself in the mirror and not cringe or cry. My last visit with her was in October and my brows still look just as great. Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she makes sure everything is safe, sterilized, and as painless has possible. My last artist numbed me as we went, and it was horrible, and I am covered with tattoos on my body! Kelly takes her time and makes sure you are comfortable. Kelly is so kind and treats me like one of her close friends. The salon was very clean and professional. I looked up her certifications through the city first and they are valid. I found out many tattoo artists are not licensed but I checked, she is and has been for many years. I was really nervous but she helped me relax. I numbed long enough to not feel anything and she helped me because I did not know what looks good on my face. I asked for very natural and she gave it to me. I was excited and nervous to have my brows micro-bladed! I have seen some terrible outcomes where the brows look very fake etc. Kelly listened to my concerns and talked me through the steps, shaping, design and expectations. She took her time and my brows look incredible! I love the ability to get ready so quickly in the morning and that I look "naturally" pretty with no make up. Eye brows really are the framing of the face. I highly recommend Kelly, you won't be disappointed. I have my touch up in 2 weeks but honestly, my brows looks awesome as is! 5 stars may be all yelp gives but hands down a solid 10 for not only the work this woman can do with her hands but more so the feeling of ease and comfort she provides pre,during and post procedure. Just received my first touch up today and I didn't think it was possible to be more in love with my eye brows then I was the first go around, but today did just that. Kelly is AMAZING!! Went in for a touch up today. I had a few concerns like the color got a little ashy and some faded which was expected anyways thats why we need a touch-up, but once she saw me she knew what is needed. I didn't even have to tell her. She's very friendly makes you feel like you've been friends for years. I have been telling my family and friends about her and cant wait to show them the final outcome. Thank you Kelly for accommodating me even though you normally dont do touch ups on Saturday. Today I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly to have my eyebrows microbladed. I was very nervous because this was my first time ever doing something like this. Within moments of talking to Kelly my nerves were put at ease. Kelly really took the time to explain the process to me from beginning to end, she got to know what outcome I was hoping for with my eyebrows, she communicated with me throughout the entire appointment, and most importantly anytime she made a change or adjustment she always checked with me for my approval. I had a privilege today to have Kelly perform her eyebrow magic on me. I had read all the rave reviews before hand and I am happy to add one more. Let me start out by saying when I messaged her for info and availability, she got back to me within minutes and answered all my questions. When I arrived she asked me how I was and I told her I was a little nervous about the procedure and she graciously explained everything to me and helped to ease my fears. She is truly a gifted artist. I was impressed that she actually takes measurements of your face and customizes brows specifically for you. A lot of places use stencils. She does not do the same brow on everyone. How refreshing!! She numbed me and I truly did not feel anything until the very end of the visit at which point she used more numbing product which worked right away. My brows were so sparse and thin and she took measurements and talked to me about what I wanted and between the two of us she designed the perfect brow for my face. She listened to my feedback and I could not be happier with the results. I look forward to my follow up visit. I highly recommend her! read more

What a wonderful experience I had today when I finally decided to micro-blade my eyebrows. I searched out many people but decided to select Kelly D. because, of her ability to tailor each clients brow to their face. Kelly explained everything in great detail beginning with the use of a numbing cream to post care. I am a person who is somewhat sensitive to pain however, I was pleasantly surprised, and had to ask Kelly had she begin micro-blading my brows. Kelly is very personable and friendly. Kelly microbladed my eyebrows in Sept and I just love them! My eyebrows were nearly non-existent before and now they look fantastic. I was able to go on vacation and not hide if a picture was taken with no makeup on (seriously ladies we all know eyebrows are everything in a pic) - Kelly was very friendly and involved me in the entire process from choosing the colors to the "ouch can you put on more numbing cream" LOL. Today I had a touch up appointment with Kelly. This is my third time having her work on my brows and I will never go to anyone else. Her work is always incredibly meticulous and I never have to worry about shape, stroke or color as her skills as an artist allow her to create the "perfect" brow for my facial structure. Kelly is such a professional, she is always considerate of my time, comfort level during the process and most importantly her cleanliness. I highly recommend her. Its been a week since doing my brows and lips. I wanted to give it some time before I gave a review. Kelly is AMAZING like everyone else says. She is a complete sweetie. She is very clean and explains everything in great detail. She makes sure you don't feel a thing. She takes her time and makes sure you both agree on what color, shape etc. She has a lot of talent and loves what she does. If you are considering your brows or lips, she won't disappoint. My lips were really dark, she made sure to tell me they would fade a lot. Its day 6 and they have mostly healed and look really pretty not dark at all. I just had my eyebrows microbladed by Kelly and let me tell you she is amazing and extremely talented at what she does. I was a little nervous about the procedure, not knowing what to expect pain wise. I did not feel a thing. She uses a numbing cream that works very well. Kelly is very professional and sweet. UPDATE TO MY LAST POST: OK its been a little over a week. I LOVE MY BROWS NOW! The healing process is ugly, or at least it was for me. They were dark dark dark, but Kelly told me they would be. I was just about in a panic on the third day when they were the darkest but I I text Kelly and she called me right back. Assured me that they would lighten and be what I hoped for.....AND THEY ARE! I wore a ball cap for about 5 days luckily I had them done over a long weekend so it was socially acceptable to wear a hat for that long ;). The final result- my brows are wonderful, natural and totally fit my face. Instead of spending time in the morning trying to fill them in and get them even and go back and forth getting them shaped right I just slap on my powder and mascara and Im out the door. I love them, the procedure was painless, so what the recovery. A bit of itching during the peeling stage but it was all worth it! Love Love Love them! If you've been thinking about doing it, go for it. Be prepared to not like them during healing but LOVE them afterward. I'm a natural person, don't wear a bunch of makeup and my brows go along with it so wonderfully, they look very natural yet polished. Everything I could have hoped for! Thank you Kelly! Yes I arrived at 11:39 (early for my 11:45 appt) when I asked the front desk guy if my tech, who I visibly saw with my own eyes working actively on a client in the very beginning phase of a nail job, would be finished soon as my appt was at 11:45, he responded with a defensive "we are down 4 techs today" when I asked this I looked at the time at it was 11:45 exactly. I was not able to sit there for an hour as stated previously I have one day off and had other things to do. I'm not asking for special treatment, this is usually standard for an appointment. The front guy didn't even try to find out how long I would have to wait or if he would be finishing up soon (probably not considering I could see him clearly) so everything the business owner replied is actually not at all true and I don't appreciate the gaslighting.

If you are weighing out your options, choose Kelly. I had my brows Microbladed by a new artist at a lower rate about 11 months ago. Bad decision. It hurt and she made my brows look like a cartoon. I waiting while it faded and then I went to a few local places in the area before deciding to go ahead with booking with Makeupbeforeyouwakeup. I talked to two women in the waiting room while there. One had just finished and one was waiting for her touch up. The girl walking out showed me her Brows. They looked beautiful and she was just slightly pink. The woman waiting for her touch up also was ecstatic about her Brows, which gave me added confidence. Everything ran in a timely fashion. I just wish i had brought something warm because I'd been nervous and i get cold when nervous. The place is cute and Kelly is extremely professional and yet, very down to earth. She's upfront with what's realistic and what is not and whI saw the first woman before. She had had a green tattoo from another artist that kelly fixed. She looked like an entirely different person when she left and I felt a bit more relaxed after seeing the gal leave. She took her time and went over the appointment time but didn't charge me. When I saw my results, I literally cried. I'm so happy. It's been 6 weeks and I still have my touch up ahead but I'm already in love with my new Brows. Thank you! Let me start out by saying that I did extensive research through out Northern California to find the perfect person to complete the impossible; to fix my "over plucked from high school" eyebrows. Like most women I searched through google, to yelp, then to social media accounts and had narrowed in on Make Up Before You Wake Up. Kelly was responsive and professional about a holiday deal after I booked online which put me at ease that this was a well managed business. Finally the day of the appointment was here and all my nerves were gone once I met with Kelly (I don't have any tattoos nor do I like needles so even the word blade made me apprehensive.) Needless to say she looked at me and told me what she was going to do before the consultation and numbing was even done! I trusted right then that I was in good hands and she had the best experience in forming an eye brow to any shape of face and that my numbing solution would work well. Appointment went fantastic. I started to feel the "blading" toward the end but it doesn't feel any different from when you pluck a single eyebrow hair. I naturally have darker eyebrows than my highlighted blonde hair but I can't wait to see how the final results turn out because I already love them! Thank you Kelly! I just had my eyebrows done by Kelly. I seriously cannot stop looking at myself in the mirror!! Eyebrows have always been my #1 insecurity as I don't have much and have been penciling them on for over 20 years. Even during labor I threatened my family to not touch my eyebrows as they would be rubbed off and I didn't want the first pictures of my daughter and I with no eyebrows. Again, my #1 insecurity!! Since I'm turning 29++ this year (ok 40), I thought ok I'm going to do it! I had been researching and stalking Kelly's work for a while and finally went for it! When I initially called, on a Saturday early evening, I expected to just leave a voicemail but she took the time to answer all my questions and then some. When I arrived today, she explained the process and made recommendations based off how I came in with makeup. She measured my face and did the mock up and based off the shape of my face. I am so happy with my brows!!! Kelly is super nice and knowledgable and really takes the time to educate you on the process and what to expect. She is super honest about what the healing process is like. I had the opportunity to meet another one of her clients who was coming in for her touch up and her biggest piece of advice was "Trust the process!!!" So while I'm not looking forward to the darkening and scabbing I am supper excited to see what my eyebrows will look like in a few weeks! Kelly also makes sure that you are nice and numb (hour numbing process) so that you are comfortable during the micro blading and honestly I felt great! Toward the end when my numbing was starting to fade at the edges of where it had been applied I KINDOF started to feel it but the pain level wasn't any worse than waxing or threading. My brows are a bit dark and thick but they are supposed to shrink and lighten a bit and that will be perfect read more

I had my eyebrows microbladed at Makeup Before You Wake Up by Kelly Devlin and I am in love! I can not believe how realistic the strokes look like individual hairs! Kelly did an AMAZING job. She is very meticulous, a perfectionist. She spent time during the consultation explaining the process and making me feel at ease (I was really nervous!). I completely trust her with my face! She has a great eye and technique for making brows look natural and fit your face well. I love my natural looking, full, beautiful brows and would highly recommend Kelly to anyone interested in having amazing brows! Kelly is awesome. I came with my Sister in Law to see the process. Her eyebrows turned out amazing and I was super excited to get mine done. The thing I like best about Kelly is she is a perfectionist. She wants to make sure that the shape of the eyebrow, the coloring and size will be most flattering for each person - and unique. You for sure have to trust the process and know that for the first week it is going to feel awkward, but after they will look great. Part of the awkwardness is that your eyebrows will be much darker then you are used too to begin with, and because you need to put A+D on it so it makes them shiny (again drawing attention). You will feel more self conscious about it, but most people won't notice. Kelly was able to fix the shape of my eyebrow and even them out so it is more flattering. I had my eyebrows done approx 2 years ago from another artist,I got a line tattooed for brows ,which faded terribly! When I walked into Kelly's place her attention was all on me . She explained everything she would be doing. I was very impressed with how she measured my old brows and how they were uneven and weren't placed correctly, had me a little worried that I wouldn't be able to ever get natural brows again . She was constantly making sure I was pain free , which I was, then she began her magic , she is very unique in that she truly cares about what she does ,she never rushed . My result was more than I imagined I had brows that I had only seen in magazines....now I had them !!!!! Her talents are just amazing , She has given me such a confidence !!!! I couldn't be happier with Kelly's services! Her previous Yelp reviews are what helped me decide to go to Kelly in the first place, and I am nothing but happy with my decision. Not only was she professional, but she was also informative and comforting every step of the way. Prior to the procedure, she handed me an informational packet that was far more comprehensive than anything I researched on the web before my appointment. Aside from a few comments about the color/shape I was looking for, I put my faith in Kelly to come up with the template and color that would best compliment my face and skin tone. I'd been contemplating getting my asymmetrical, balding, over-plucked eyebrows microbladed for over a year, but had been hesitant that the results wouldn't be any better than my natural brows. Then, there was Kelly! She's quite literally transformed my brows and I couldn't be happier. I was really scared going into this. I have thin eyebrows but I'm older and am concerned I'll look overdone if it didn't work out. I wanted something natural. Kelly took the time to gently explain how microblading works. I do not have tattoos, so it helped me. She was patient with me while I panicked, until the procedure started. It did not hurt like I thought it would. It felt like scratches towards the end but was easy to endure. When it was over, I was shocked with how real my hair looked. I was mildly pink around my brows but that's about the worst part of going out and it went away in a few hours. I'm very happy with my outcome. All I can really say is, Kelly Devlin was able to put my mind at ease and did a great job fixing my botched eyebrows. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience previous to my appointment before Kelly. I ended up with botched over priced brows and ended up having to do a laser removal somewhere else a couple weeks after having them done. If it were not for Kelly, I most likely would've continued filling in my eyebrows myself ugh! Thank you Kelly for being so patient, considerate about my past experience, professional in letting me know what to expect, and being realistic with my expectations. I highly recommend Kelly hands down. I came to Kelly with sharpie like tattooed eyebrows with hardly any eyebrow hairs and she was able thru her artistic talent give me a much fuller realistic looking eyebrow. She is very patient and takes the time to first draw on the eyebrows and get your approval before being the actual work. She is always just a call or text away if you have any questions. Kelly is an artist and to say I'm happy with my brows is an understatement! I used to spend at least 15 minutes dealing with my eyebrows every morning, now? Zero time! They are perfection and I haven't even gone back for my 8 week touch-up yet. So stop looking at other places to go or if you're apprehensive about the whole process, you will wonder why you waited so long to do it! She will walk you through it and there's a 3 page waiver you have to sign that explains everything, just follow all her instructions for after care. Also, don't even think about being nonchalant about promptness to your appointment, there's a reason that it takes weeks to get in with her! read more

Unbelievable!!!! My eyebrows are perfect!!! Perfect shape, perfect color and perfect staying power! I had them done months ago, and of course went in for the required 'touch-up' and they are even more beautiful than when they were first done. And a very large part of my wonderful experience was the customer service. Everything was explained in advance and went just as I was told it would. I hadn't considered permanent makeup as an option before, but I decided to give it a try. Went in for an upper lash liner and eyebrows Kelly did an amazing job and made me feel very comfortable with the process. It did not take long to complete and I am in love with how they turned out. The lash liner is very natural and enhances my lash line. My eyebrows were thin and completely uneven after years of waxing. Now they are gorgeous and full with a beautiful shape. I just had my eye brows done by Kelly. When I went in she was warm and charming. I have had very little brows and they were not even. I had another woman do my eye brows years before by Sue was constantly pushed to buy more than eyebrows. When Sue was done she never considered what I wanted and I was very disappointed. When I left Kelly's today, I was so excited, I finally have eyebrows that are beautiful, even, exactly how I wanted them. I would recommend her to all my family and friends. But, I just had to focus on finding a more quality one and here's why: 1. Every time I had my fill with her, I'd walk out of her business with burning eyes. When "cleaning up" my lashes, she would pinch my eyelid at least once causing me to tense up. It was so awful, I've never experienced this before. 3. She would rarely fill every lash as she only filled what she could in one hour maximum. Rarely, did my lashes look like a volume set. I felt like I was just a number to her, trying to fit as many clients as possible into her schedule in one day. If you prefer efficiency over quality products, exquisite customer service, quality looking lashes, I recommend Ashley.

Also, let's talk retention!!! We're talking 1 month. I've gone hiking, swimming, saunas, even cried through an entire season of "When Life Gives You Tangerines (IYKYK)" and those lashes stayed put. I've never had such good retention. Bottom line: she's an artist, a magician, and possibly a witch (in a good way). Book her now before the rest of the world catches on and she's impossible to get into.
