My makeup stayed on the entire night, even through all the dancing and sweating. Parie did my wedding makeup a few months ago. Heard about her through my co-worker. Decided to do the trial and I was really confused about how to style my hair for day of. My mom and everyone else seemed to have their opinions. During the trial, the style she suggested was very different from what I had been looking at, but absolutely loved it! I have only had my makeup done twice and was never impressed. I have been engaged for eight months, and while most of the details have been planned/organized/set, as of last week I had yet to find someone who I could trust to do my hair and makeup. I did a trial with Parie for makeup then made a second appointment to do a hair trial. I was very picky as I used to live in LA and everyone usually is decent up there. Now I'm in OC so I started yelping, checking wedding sites for a makeup person. I was completely underwhelmed by the photos and was about to hire someone in LA and pay crazy travel fee. The first time I had my make up done by Parie I was stunned beyond words. I was scheduled for a shoot and usually quite nervous to work with new make up artists. I've had to many bad experiences. But I felt comfortable with Parie from the very first moment. I loved how she studied my face and brought my best features to light. She has a very steady hand and is excellent on the eyes. Unfortunately, I have to agree with some of the reviews below. Same thing has happened to me. I had looked through Parie's pictures and thought as well that she looked very talented and decided to give her a call to make an appointment. She had picked up the call and she told me she was busy the day that I needed to get my makeup done, but she had also told me she would fit me in earlier in the morning and I had told her that would be perfectly fine with me. Right before we hung up, she told me to send a picture of myself and confirm. That is exactly what I did. But after that, I have never heard from her again. I even texted her the next morning to confirm if it was ok to do my makeup and I got nothing, no response what so ever. I can understand that she is busy, all she had to do was tell me she could not do it instead of leaving me questioning and hanging out there, wasting my time when I can try to find other makeup artists because I know how fast they can get booked up. Being that I hired a makeup artist for my wedding, I would have expected her to come with her makeup done. The fact that she didn't, after opening the door, made me immediately re-think my decision on hiring her. I was worried that the person I hired wasn't the person that did those photos I saw. Then, upon setting up, with the dynamic of everyone getting reading in our 2 bedroom suite (girls and guys) I needed to her start my makeup in one room, but move to the other room to complete my hair. She had an attitude and said once she sets up, she won't move. I just went along with it all, being that it was my wedding day, I didn't want to stress. I'm really easy going and hate conflict. Although, if I'm paying someone $400.00 for 2 hours of makeup and hair, I'd expect her to be accommodating to my needs (I didn't ask for much). Her makeup selection was extremely limited, the brushes didn't look clean and I asked for a dark, smoky, intense look. I wanted contouring. I came out with crooked eyebrows, gold on my eyes and the most minimal contouring I have ever done before. I can show you the before pictures of what she did and what I looked like after I fixed everything she did once she left. BIG difference. I just didn't want to have to worry about doing my own makeup on my wedding day. Next, my hair. HATED my hair. The curls were beautiful, but anyone can simply curl hair. Then, I wanted it half up, she threw it up in a minute, it was frizzy after she teased it, she didn't even smooth out the top or make sure it was even. I asked for extra bobby pins just incase, since my hair is down to my waist, and only got more attitude because she said she put enough in. I let her know from the beginning that my curls don't hold easily, so I would have thought that she would have put in product before curling, then sprayed each strand as she went along, setting each one of them to cool before pulling them all out. She didn't use any product, didn't set one curl, didn't spray each one as she went along. She only did an overall spray at the very end. My hair went flat within 30 minutes, it was lopsided in my wedding pictures and as frizzy as could be. I didn't say anything in person as to how I felt. I just wanted to fix everything and move forward with my day. She already seemed to be in a bad mood or hung over, or something.... Not sure. She snapped at my photographer for taking pictures doing my makeup and hair. Could have easily asked to be left out of the shot, but was quite rude, saying she didn't want to be in a million wedding pictures all over the place. Understandable, but be tactful. Just NOT impressed at all. read more

I was worried about my makeup and hair on my wedding day since I went for my photoshoot to the treasure island and it was really hot. But after coming back to my ceremony my makeup and hair looked still great. And our wedding was such a long ( up to 1 AM) wedding and I cried a lot since I did not have my family in my wedding but my makeup last all day without any changes.
