Kristin and Noelle were absolutely amazing for my wedding day. I found them both to be completely professional and talented. The day went smoothly and all seven of my bridesmaids, my mom and my mother-in-law were very happy with their hair and make-up. I felt that they really took into consideration my preferences and wedding style. They were friendly and chatty during the whole day making it pleasant to work with them. After finishing my hair, I noticed a few bumpy sections, which I pointed out to Noelle. She promptly sat me back down and worked on it until it was perfect. She was patient and calm the whole time, which is so important when you are aiming for perfection. I think it's important to mention that I was not interested in getting a hair and make-up trial despite so many people encouraging me to do so. Even though Kristin and Noelle expressed their concerns regarding not getting a trial, they respected my decision in the end and still agreed to do my hair/make-up for my wedding. Turns out, it wasn't necessary b/c I absolutely loved my hair and make-up (brides, follow your gut!). I was given Kristin & Makeup Luxe's name by a friend who had also used them for their "day of" beauty regimen for their wedding, and am so I glad I called her! From the very beginning of the process, the consult, through the trial run and finally the big day, Kristin and her team went out of their way to not only make me beautiful but to make my day extra-special! I had Kristin (a true artist!) handle my makeup and Noelle (a miracle worker!) take care of the hair, and I was in disbelief at how amazing they made me look. I truly felt like the belle of the ball! They were very professional, having no problem accommodating the specific wants/needs of my entire bridal party and even my diva mother!!! They helped me put together a day of schedule with timing, and basically took care of all the little details so I didn't have to worry in the least. And I truly feel they went above & beyond, joining in the laughter & having fun with us, and keeping the mood light during a somewhat stressful time! Had my very first bridal make up trial with Make Up Luxe (Noelle and Kristin) today- and as a professional performer who does stage make up on a weekly basis- I was picky and nervous about another brush working on my face... and I was EXTREMELY pleased with the look I walked out with today. Thrilled even- couldn't stop checking myself out actually. Just- over the top thrilled. Communication in advance through email was both prompt and clear. Communication about style and idea- day of time line and what the expectations were about contract and deposits were all very clear and professional. Both MUA and hair stylist sat and discussed the over all look and pictures and any hair accessories before I even sat in the chair. My make up was seamless- she did a wonderful job matching my odd ruddy skin tone and evening it out- gave me a STUNNING lip that was everything I could ask for and my highlight/contour were ON.POINT. I felt like I was ready to get my dress and go get married- I was thrilled. My hair was absolutely stunning- I got compliments ALL.NIGHT. after we left. I interacted with make up luxe via e-mails because I was an out of town bride. I exchanged multiple e-mails with Kristin Paladino who agreed to do my trial make up and my make up on my wedding day. I saw her 3 days prior my wedding day for a trial. She was pleasant, I did not really like the way how she did my make up and the color she chose for my foundation. I have told her so and she was willing to accommodate my requests. After all that is why we need a trial. I was charged $$ for the trial based on our agreement. I should clarify that the reason there was no contract is because it was at the request of the vendor (and not me). I in fact did use her service because I used and paid for a trial session. As for not using her for my wedding, if a vendor tries to change her price at the last minute and threatens me to accept her new terms because there was no contract, why would I trust her to work at my wedding? It is unscrupulous of a vendor to advise against a contract. The vendor keeps insisting in her emails her prices were based on multiple people requiring services. This is a false statement because in every exchange I had with her I clearly tell her that I would be only one requiring service. At no point did I promise her any other service would be required. At the trial on Wednesday before the wedding, I directly asked her how much I should prepare for her fee on the wedding day, and she said $150 cash. At the trial was when she should have told me if she has a minimum fee of $200 to travel to the wedding location, not on Friday evening before my wedding on Saturday. I don't have a problem with her pricing; I have a problem with her not communicating her prices clearly until I had very few options the night before my wedding. In contrast, other vendors I contacted for makeup were very clear and upfront in their pricing for one person versus multiple people and their minimum fees. Kristin Paladino you were unprofessional, unscrupulous, unclear about your prices, disorganized, unethical and misleading. You lost my business and I hope you lose more. read more

My daughter hired Kristen, owner of Makeup Luxe, for her New Years Eve wedding. Kristen and team showed up early in the morning and worked until ceremony. She was continually touching up and making sure everyone involved looked amazing. She followed us after the ceremony and stayed until the beginning of the cocktail hour doing her magic. The day could not have been any better. Kristen's warmth and professionalism were all part of making a perfect day. I could not recommend her more. She's perfect and she makes everything she touches perfect. If you're a bride she comes with a team. If you just want your make up done for a special occasion give her a call. I used Makeup Luxe for my wedding and was extremely happy with the results. I was a non-traditional bride and was concerned that perhaps "wedding" makeup artists wouldn't understand my vision. I spoke to Kristin and we set up a trial, we spoke briefly about the wedding, the style, and the colors. Kristen WOW-ed me! She nailed the look I was going for! I received a million complements on my hair and make up that day, I felt beautiful. Speaking of hair, Kristin also hooked me up with a stylist and before that I had tried so many others, Tara who was my hair stylist through Makeup Luxe totally blew my mind! I had tried other hairstylists and nobody could get it right, so I figured it just wasn't possible. I liked my trail with Tara but the day of the wedding I showed her a picture of what I really wanted that nobody was able to figure out how to do and just like that I had the hair I envisioned! Seriously I have never had such a positive experience with two awesome ladies. They ROCKED me out for my wedding and it was AWESOME! I'm annoyed this app forces me to even give one star... one is totally over the top. As I can see from prior poor revews, I'm not alone with my opinion and my horrible experience with Kristin Paladino... Kristin Paladino is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever delt with. When showing up to her home for a trial at 2:00 in the afternoon, she greeted me at her door still in her pajamas, unshowered, and barefoot. She also scarfed down chilli while doing my makeup. It was really bizarre. Although I felt her services were price she did a decent job and so, I still tipped her and her colleague very generously in cash and paid my deposit for my bridal in advance. My fiance' ended up getting cold feet and canceling our wedding one month prior when I was 3 months pregnant leaving me in a financial and emotional burden. Completely devastated and heartbroken, I decided to make an announcement on Facebook letting my family and friends know the wedding was off. Literally minutes later, Kristin called me on my cell phone to remind me of contract obligations. I was still inconsolable and hardly able to speak at this moment. Every single one of my vendors had the human decency to cut me some sort of break but Kristin not only didn't offer a break, she tried to screw me into paying her gratuity which was never wooded on the contract and even threatened to take legal action against me 2 weeks prior to the money being due. She harassed me by email multiple times a week until I sent her her check (which I did send on time). I have never made any indication that I would not hold up to my end of the contract however, be very careful upon signing a contract with her because she is a heartless person who only cares about herself, and chilli, apparently. read more

I used Makeup Luxe for my April 2012 wedding - I booked Kristin over a year before! Makeup Luxe was referred to me by a cosmetic-guru coworker. My first experience with Makeup Luxe was at my best friends' wedding .. as part of the bridal party I was going to do my own makeup then I saw the other bridesmaids makeup and WOW. I asked Kristin if she could fit me in on the spot - which of course she did! Needless to say Kristin did flawless work on my wedding day. As a cosmetic professional I always have a full face of makeup, but I was amazed at the amount of compliments specifically on my makeup the day of my wedding - Kristin is simply the best. Kristin was the most amazing makeup artist and friend we could ask for during my sister's wedding a few months ago in October. She was referred to us by my sister's friend- and she promptly set up a trial at her home for a FULL face of makeup for the bride to give her an idea of what it would be like on the day. She was so funny and personable - it put everyone's nerves at ease, made us laugh - including my mother and of course the bride. Needless to say the work was phenomenal - she took such care and attention to the smallest details - took her time and didn't rush at all- matching colors to jewelry, asking the bride her preferences while providing offering professional opinion and input. She also did my makeup as well as my mom's ( I decided to have mine done last minute and she was completely flexible). The fact that this was an Indian wedding and she was able to apply all of the traditional jewelry and adornments and pull it off is truly commendable. Per partner in crime, Noel, did our hair, and we couldn't have been happier with her also. My makeup and look was phenomenal and I have never looked and felt more beautiful than I did that day! I'm a New Yorker and there are a world of makeup artists in the city-however I will only hire Kristin for my own wedding - she is simply the best-PERIOD! read more
