My third visit back to Jessie. She is the only person I'll let cut my hair now. Jessie just does a…read morephenomenal job! She is very skilled with her technique. I appreciate that she checks in with me to see if I'm happy with the progress at each stage of the cut. I will make the drive from SD just to see her. I'm not sure how my haircuts just get better with each visit (literally not exaggerating look at the photos). Booking an appointment is a breeze since she's so responsive. I want to gate keep her so bad but her skills and attention to detail needs to be shared. I always have a calm and peaceful experience at her studio. She has such a sweet and easygoing personality. I'll be back, Hyejin!!

Y'all, let me put you ON this place. Jessie/Jin is the best. The first time I came in was last year…read morefor a hair cut. I had just moved to the area again and wanted to find a hairstylist during my time here. I read a review that said she'll let you know her honest opinion and I'm so glad because for me personally, I would hate it if I came in wanting something and the hairstylist thinks it's ugly (but is quiet about it) and I walk out feeling regretful that I wanted to try xyz lol. My first haircut came out nicely after we chatted about what I wanted and what she thinks would look best, and she recommended me a brown I should try in the future. Today is that future time. It's my second time here! I came in knowing vaguely what I wanted (Some sort of lighter brown with bangs since I had black hair with no bangs lol). We chatted and then I simply trusted the process. She ended up giving me curtain bangs that can also be a little wispy also, and cut my hair to a length that looked soooo good. There was so much attention to detail when she was cutting too. It was great. For the color, she said that a lighter color might not actually look the best on me and a subtle brown might be better! I was pretty down for whatever she thought looked good so I trusted the process again. Let me tell you... this subtle brown looked so good with the cut. Also, my hair? Soft as HECK. It was kinda gritty before so I was shook when I touched my hair after the appt. She chatted with me lots and also gave me space too. It was a great balance and also she answered my questions!! I always have so many questions and she answered them all for me!! Including... how to style my hair because I suck at those things. I'll take any advice and tips I can get. Price is reasonable for OC too! TLDR; I walked in with messy hair that made me look dead inside and walked out with softer dyed hair AND styling knowledge. If that isn't a win, I don't know what is.

I've been a client…read moreat Sage on 17th since it opened, and I found Lindsay after my cousin went to her for a color correction right before her wedding. I haven't looked back since. It's been over 6 years now! Lindsay is truly exceptional. She just has a way of making blondes and extensions look effortless and completely natural. She really understands what will suit you, not just what you ask for, and she delivers it with precision every time. Her attention to detail is impeccable, and you'll leave feeling confident, refreshed, and beautiful! One of the things I appreciate most is how knowledgeable she is. From hair and scalp health to products, she always knows what's best for where you are in your hair journey. Her recommendations have completely transformed the health of my hair, and I trust her completely. She can truly do it all. Whether it's color, correction, cut, or styling, everything she does feels natural, elevated, and very you. I constantly get compliments on my hair. Sage on 17th as a whole is such a vibe. The space is beautiful and welcoming, and every stylist there is talented, professional, and consistent. Whether I'm there for a full service appointment, a keratin treatment, or a blowout for an event, I know I'm in excellent hands. It's the first place I go whenever I need my hair done. They also have an amazing selection of hair care, candles, and gifts, which makes it feel like a one stop shop. I always walk out with a bag full of goodies. If you're looking for someone you can truly trust with your hair, especially for blondes or extensions, Lindsay is the best. It's one of those places you keep going back to because you know you'll be taken care of and always leave feeling fabulous!

I really wanted to love this salon because I was happy with my haircut and was excited to finally…read morefind a good local place. Unfortunately, the color experience completely changed that. I came in asking for a rich brown. Instead, I left with a very noticeable red/orange band across the top of my head that doesn't blend with the rest of my hair. I never asked for red hair, and the result is nothing like what I requested. Before I left the salon, after my hair was styled, I pointed out the banding because I could tell something looked off. I was told it looked fine, so I trusted the stylist's professional judgment. Looking back, I wish my concerns had been taken more seriously. I left for a planned trip to Europe shortly after my appointment, so I wasn't able to come back immediately. However, as soon as I returned, I repeatedly tried contacting my stylist and left multiple messages. I never received a response. When I finally spoke with the salon, I expected them to stand behind their work and correct the color. Instead, I was told I would have to pay again for an all-over color to fix a result that wasn't what I had asked for in the first place. At this point, I'll likely have to go to another salon for a professional color correction. Between what I already paid here and what it will cost to fix, I'm out around $500 or more. If achieving a rich brown on my hair wasn't something they were confident they could do, I wish they had been upfront about that before starting the service. I would have appreciated that honesty far more than ending up with a color I didn't ask for and an expensive correction process.
