This sushi shop in Covington is a hidden gem. They are not a half price sushi spot but I can tell why. The quality is much better than any half price spot. The rolls are bigger and more filling. There entrees are also just as good as their sushi. Big portions and full of flavor. They have fast service and a good selection of options. I can't wait to go back again!

This is hands down our go-to sushi spot in Covington. The menu is full of unique, thoughtfully layered flavors--bright citrus notes, subtle heat, umami-rich sauces, and beautifully balanced textures that never overpower the freshness of the fish. There's an impressive variety of options, whether you're in the mood for something classic or feeling adventurous, and the food is always consistently on point. The atmosphere is relaxed yet lively, with a warm, welcoming vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy your meal. The owner is absolutely delightful and clearly takes great pride in every dish she serves, which comes through in both the quality and presentation. We love sitting by the window, where we can casually people-watch while enjoying a calm, comfortable space--and there always seems to be a seat, which makes it even better. A spot we keep coming back to for great food and an equally great experience.

Kennedy our waitress was so amazing. So sweet and kind and knowledgeable and attentive. We came to this town not knowing anything on a visit October 7, 2024 and we left with a nice sushi meal and a list of attractions in the area to visit bc of her. Thank you Kennedy! And the chefs Roberto and Isaiah and the owner were just as lovely and kind and welcoming that we had such a great time. The sushi was fresh and soft and buttery and the tofu dish was enjoyably lightly crispy. And the funny part was I realized that the music was Japanese music! So amazing bc I actually never recalled hearing Japanese music in any Japanese restaurant before haha! So I was delighted. The decor is so adorable w all the bite dog and cat pictures. They were so cute to look at. Overall a great place to sit and eat and chat w staff and friends and family. New ownership as of 3 weeks ago now so enjoy the new vibe!

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and we had a great experience! Server was very friendly and food was fresh! Atmosphere was also chill with good music! I ordered a miso soup, seaweed salad, dumpling soup, and a tuna avocado roll. Everything was delicious for a great price! Would love to return.

Sunny California roll Shrimp crunch roll

    1. Sushi nachos were delicious 2. The sunny California roll and shrimp crunch roll were kinda bland 3. The crispy rice were terrible--I took a bite and bam immediately hurt my tooth. They were WAY overcooked to the point of it hurting my teeth.

First time trying this place and I absolutely loved it. I was excited to find a place in Covington that had high quality sushi in a casual setting for a good price. All the rolls we got were specialty. We picked 4, but there were so many to choose from. They also had a lot of entre options for those who aren't as big into sushi. Our service was fast and friendly. Will absolutely be coming here again.

Look at those happy faces this is what you'll see you on every visit that's true love.

The food service and ambience is perfect for a date day or night, but the ownership has so much care and love for the customer. It's an absolute joy to come here The quality of the food and the flavor layering's will blow your palate away literally some of the best sushi my wife and I have ever had in our lives and we do eat a lot of sushi.

    Chelsea F.

Rating is based on sushi only! Everything we had was good, but it wasn't anything special in my opinion and felt overpriced for the portions compared to other local sushi places. We got the sashimi & two specialty rolls. The service was good, fast seating & friendly. The vibe is casual.

    Sushi boat!
    Erin M.

Wow! What a little gem! And extremely reasonable price point for fresh, delicious, literal boatload of sushi! We got the sushi boat and it did not disappoint (see pic). The wait staff were extremely friendly and as excited as we were to bring the boat out to us lol. It was such a beautifully artistic presentation and the sushi was amazing! Def will be coming back!

Finally came by to check this place out after hearing rave reviews about the sushi. Personally, I haven't found a great sushi place in this town yet; everything is just edible--which is how I would describe this. It reminds me exactly of the sushi you would get at Wabi Sabi with the same ambiance also. If that's the kind of sushi you like then you'll love it here. I gave it 3 stars for the super friendly service and my cocktail, it was an interesting use of boba with sake.

The chef is gone. The owner is the cook now. Sad face. Her flavors were on point. She was welcoming and personable. I miss her.

Last night I ordered the crab rangoon roll (again, because I really enjoyed it the last time), a California roll, and a sweet potato roll. All were delicious, the crab rangoon roll is my favorite, great flavor, generous sized roll. The California roll is pretty standard, the sweet potato roll is really good and my favorite vegetation option so far.

Tasty food, good drink, great service…read more We needed lunch following a morning visit to the aquarium and were not tied to the Levee necessarily. My fella had a hankering for sushi and found Sake Bomb on google, an easy 7ish minute walk straight up the road from the aquarium. The building was under construction and there was an overabundance of signs not only telling you where to go and where not to go, but also about ordering and pick up and other various things. I found that actually quite charming, along with the unnecessary quotation marks. But we entered and were seated right away (it was a late Monday morning, it wasn't gonna be overflowing anyway). I really liked the look and feel of the place and it made it feel very private in our seating spot. I really wanted to enjoy a small adult beverage (it was actually the start of a 2-week vacation for me and I wanted to feel a little indulgent). But the soju options I was eying all came in far too large serving sizes. BUT THEN the server informed me of the smaller sized options, it was just lost in the very busy and overwhelming menu. Perfect! And kudos to him for not pushing a more expensive, greater volume item! My guy ordered a couple rolls for us to share and I also got an order of the seaweed salad (a staple that I LOVE). The food came out quick. The salad portion was HUGE. And the rolls tasted delicious and we both left with our hunger sated. I would definitely recommend the short jaunt away from the Levee for a quieter, tasty meal, if you are in the area and looking for an Asian meal to enjoy.

The service was impeccable and they were so knowledgeable about every fish and all the prep into it. The ambiance was interesting, we had a girl begging for soy sauce and the chef just gave her salt. Was kinda funny to watch but made a little bit of tension. I think the chef handled it in a mature manner, the customer was clearly drunk or something and was not happy with their experience. Like I said this puts all other sushi in a lower classification. So much effort and thought into everything.

I went to the Thursday 5:00 p.m. seating, and I know I got lucky getting a reservation. I logged on…read morearound 7:00 that morning to book, and I was able to get one on my first try. Several people in my group said they'd tried multiple times without any luck. From what I've heard, Thursday at 5:00 is one of the easier reservations to get, because the Friday and Saturday 7:00 p.m. seatings disappear almost instantly. I've had sushi all over the country (although not all over the world), and this was hands down the best sushi I've ever had. The quality of the fish is incredible--they fly it in from Japan--and every course was beautifully presented. The pairings the chef came up with were amazing and really let the fish shine. The menu changes every day and every season, so you'll never have the exact same experience twice. One of my favorite surprises was the miso soup. The chef explained that the broth is made using the bones from the fish we were eating that evening, and it was honestly one of the best bowls of miso soup I've ever had. The only suggestion I'd make is to have a simple printed menu with the names of each course and maybe a few notes about the ingredients. The chef explains every course, but there are so many Japanese names and details that it's hard to remember everything by the time you leave. I would have loved something to take notes on or even just glance at while he was talking. The only other thing I noticed was that the ending felt just a little rushed. There are seatings at 5:00, 7:00, and 9:00, and by the end of our meal the next group was already waiting in the entryway. It wasn't a big deal, but it was noticeable. The experience is $115 per person, and the required 20% gratuity is paid when you make the reservation. You can also order alcoholic drinks during dinner. At the end, the chef offers an optional add-on (ours was either a $30 bowl or a $12 roll). I skipped it because it featured a type of fish that usually isn't my favorite, but after seeing what the chef did with everything else, I was honestly tempted to give it a try. Maybe next time. This was one of those meals that you keep thinking about long after it's over. Everything was thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it's the best sushi I've ever had, and I'd love to come back every season to see how the menu changes.
