WOW! I have never in my life felt more at home in a dentist's office! I am a new patient, having recently moved here from a small town. I found Dr. Makowski's office via online reviews, and I was not disappointed. When I stepped into the office, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere. The office is clean and in very good condition. For my very first appointment, they had "WELCOME, MEGAN" written on a chalkboard at the checkout desk, so I felt good going into the appointment. Lindsey, the delightful woman at the desk, made sure that all of my paperwork was handled correctly and assisted me whenever I asked. I am a single mom, and had to bring my 3 year old daughter to my appointment with me. All of the staff were very kind, and they were very tolerant of having my daughter there. The initial appointment I had scheduled was a consult, and it was handled masterfully! Dr. Makowski is a warm and inviting man, and it is apparent that he takes interest in his patients. We talked about my issues with my teeth, both medical and cosmetic. He was knowledgeable and listened to all of my concerns. He also talked to my daughter about how pretty her teeth were! Dr. Makowski actually cared about my feelings about my health. He had several ideas of how we could improve my smile and help me feel better about my teeth. On a separate appointment, I saw a dental hygenist who was just superb! I wish I had caught her name. I also had to take my daughter to that appointment, and she was patient with my daughter. She did an excellent job with my cleaning, and did not seem to judge my hygiene (It had been quite a while since I had seen a dentist). Overall, if you are looking for a dental office, I CANNOT recommend this clinic enough. They are friendly, inviting, and they are well-versed in their craft. I am a fairly new patient. It was easy to get a timely appointment. The office is bright and inviting. Lindsey was welcoming and offered a refreshment. My appointment started on time. The visit started with a thorough history of my symptoms and a review of my last visit by Jo, my hygienist. Dr.Makowski stopped by to say hello while we were getting started. I had x-rays taken and a cleaning done this visit. The process was thorough and pain free. Dr. Makowski was updated by my hygienist, then he sat down with me and looked at my x-rays and in my mouth. He again assessed how I perceived my mouth status. He is very personable, you can tell he enjoys his work. Then Jo assessed if I needed floss, toothbrush's or toothpaste before I left and made sure I had follow-up in place before I left. I have been to a few dental offices in my past. I was led to Dr. Makowski in July, 2014 after a previous dentist I was seeing botched a procedure and caused me injury. He and his team are excellent! Not only was I pleased with the actual work done on my teeth, but the way in which he and his staff conducted themselves throughout the entire process was the best I've experienced in my 10 years in Denver. They listened to my concerns, showed compassion and understanding, offered me insight into the issues surrounding my problems as well as multiple solutions, answered EVERY one of my questions (and trust me, there were a LOT of them), and executed his work flawlessly. In general, I don't have an issue with going to the dentist; it doesn't bother me. But I know that many people really dislike going. If YOU are one of them then you absolutely must give Dr. Makowski and his team a try. I am so thankful to have found him! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Makowski for about 2 years. I wish I had found him years ago because I have paid a fortune for crowns and lost teeth that I probably didn't have to. Dr. Makowski takes an analytical and scientific approach to determine the reason teeth are requiring repair. In my case, my teeth were misaligned which resulted in my bite being off stressing and damaging some teeth requiring crowns and two teeth to be pulled. Previous dentists were just fixing each tooth without figuring out the why. Now after my teeth are realigned and my bite is corrected, I should be able to keep the rest of my teeth! What a blessing! No one likes going to the dentist, period. However, Dr. Makowski and his staff truly make your trip to the dentist an enjoyable one. They are personable, they know about you, your family, your hobbies and they show a genuine interest in who you are as a person. Not to mention, they do a really good job as your dentist. They perform high quality work and take all kinds of insurance. I switched from my previous dentist because they never had availability they met my schedule. Dr. Jim will bend over backwards to make our schedules work and to find a time that I can come in that actually works for me! If you need a good dentist, look no further. Recently became a patient of Dr. Makowski's and have received nothing but top notch care. Had the most thorough dental exam and cleaning that I have ever had. Also had a crown put on one of my molars. The process was painless and the crown was an exact fit. While he was preparing my tooth for the crown he explained every step during the procedure so there were no surprises. That was very helpful. His staff is very helpful and they have a great working relationship which makes for a happy office. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that for those of us without dental insurance and pay out of pocket, his quality service commands quality prices. I've been going to Dr. Makowski for over 15 years. He is unequivically the best dentist and oral surgeon in Colorado! He has done everything from teeth whitening to root canals on me, including custom gold dental crowns and perfect porclean crowns. I always get complements on my teeth and I plan on staying a patient because I want my teeth to last another 50 years. If you are looking for a dentist in the greater Denver area, this is your stopping point! I used to live right around the corner from the office but I moved about 12 years ago and continue to drive about 30 to 50 miles (50 from work) to go to Dr. Makowski because there is no better dentist in Colorado. Great Dental Office! I wish my family would have started going to Dr Jim when my kids were young. We have been going to Dr Jim for about 5 years and it has been wonderful. It use to be difficult to coax my family to see the dentist. This dental office has changed my family's fear of having teeth cleaned and dental work done. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. If there are any dental issues they are always taken care of quickly and without repeat visits to address the same problem. The billing is always sent to insurance and billed correctly the first time. I would recommend this Dr and office to anyone. read more

I am so impressed by his practice that I convinced my husband to change from another dental group in town because of Dr. Jim's personal approach. My entire family goes to Dr. Makowski and we all love him. He is the ultimate perfectionist. For example, I have had a gap between my front teeth my entire life and it returned after braces as a teen. My previous dentist never suggested filling the gap, but Jim did it immediately.
