Last night it was the Pumpkin Chicken Curry, a true delight, with big chunks of the gourd and tender chicken floating around in a lookout-that's-hot curry. We got Medium spice, which had a pretty good kick, so I'd suggest mild if you're sensitive to that kinda heat. We loved it, TBH, but we like hot stuff. The stir fry's have been reliably good too. We got the Lemongrass Chicken Pad Thai and Pumpkin Chicken Curry and were blown away. We stopped in for lunch on Saturday and I honestly am surprised by the poor reviews. This place was clean, the waiter was friendly, the food came out super quick. All three of us really enjoyed our food and will absolutely be back. The string bean chicken was SO good, the chicken was crunch on the outside and chewy on the inside and the beans were perfect. It was a great flavor. I got the boat noodle soup and it was exactly what I needed, very comforting food. And the crying tiger had excellent flavor in the sauce. Good take out but the actual restaurant is nice and in a safe area. Good parking even if you park in the neighborhood around it. The place is clean and friendly, very authentic down to the staff and art. Food is good, decent price for the quality and amount. Never really busy inside because I see people coming for delivery. Careful though their medium spicy I consider Hot! I think it's been here a long time? Never had a long wait. Pretty big menu and if you don't want something on a dish they have no problem changing it. It is a small place so it's a good thing most of their business is take out. Overall solid, but a bit too hit or miss in the quality and taste of its dishes to earn a winning review. I took my family on a typically drizzly Portland weekend afternoon and we were the only ones eating in (the takeout side seemed to be doing better business). The host/server seemed a bit grumpy and annoyed with us for unknown reasons. We ordered Tom Kha, Chicken Satay, Chicken Massaman, Pad Thai and eggplant in a basil sauce. It's a good thing we specified "mild" when the server asked our level of spice preference, because the curry still packed a punch that two of my family members struggled to tolerate. The Tom Kha was a little odd with lots of mushrooms floating on top like fishing bobbers. The soup itself, however, was delicious. The Massaman suffered from having too little protein and way too much (somewhat thin) sauce. Better balance with more chicken, potatoes and veggies was needed. The Pad Thai also lacked balance--too few noodles and too much fluff (ie sprouts and other filler). The eggplant dish was tasty, but the eggplant could have been cooked a tad longer. A lot of small miscues added up. Combined with the frosty service, I strongly prefer other Thai restaurants in LO. (3.25 stars). read more

Beat Thai I have had in years. We eat a lot of Thai and we could not stop raving how good this place was. Tom Kah soup was so hearty and the broth was t die for. The caramelized chicken wings were so juicy with this great sauce on top. The mussaman curry...killer flavors. Very chunky and lots of rice! The chicken pad Thai was just the best I've had. I order it a lot...I couldn't stop eating this one. Noodles were perfect and the crushed peanuts were plentiful. I wish I had leftover right now!! Super clean place, great service. I've been eating here, in the restaurant and take out for years. The service has always been pretty good, however in the last year, maybe even the last 8 months the quality has taken a nose dive. Orders have come with the wrong protein (really not forgivable in a household with shell fish allergies), items missing, or items outright tasting horrible compared to previous times ordered. I usually have an order of beef satay with my meal and it has started consistently being incredibly tough, burnt, and outright inedible at least once. Not only that, almost every entre has become strangely sweet, losing the complexity the dishes used to have in flavor. It really makes me sad to see the quality of this restaurant going down, especially with how good they were in the past. read more

Malee's is located in a teeny shopping plaza next to a dry-cleaning place in Lake Oswego with ample free parking. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered: - Chicken Curry Puff Delicious and perhaps my favorite dish - Bangkok Beef Noodle I enjoyed this dish very much Was flavorful without being heavy. - Chicken Pad Thai Nothing really to rave about. It's as common as ordering sweet and sour pork at a Chinese restaurant. I would skip this dish. - Fisherman Fried Rice This dish was tasty. They were very generous with the seafood. Would order again. - Thai Iced Tea AVOID, as I believe this was the culprit that got me sick. Perhaps the water or ice was contaminated. Order at your own risk! There's no doubt the food here was delicious and the service was friendly. We had a lot of leftover, so we packed it to-go. When I had it the second day, I didn't get sick. So I'm wondering if their water or ice was tainted? Perhaps it was the Thai Iced Tea that made me sick. For you Yelpers that are reading this, I would highly suggest ordering a beverage that came from a can or bottle, no ice! read more

The green curry was probably the best I ever had! The flavors were delicate and complex, and there were lots of colorful vegetables. The eggplant held a delicious grilled flavor and perfect softness. We've been ordering from MTK for over 2 years and have always like the food. I have a serious problem with gluten as does my son and my best friend's son. The last 2 times we got take out we all got sick - gluten sick. We definitely ordered the take-out to be GF, but something has changed. I don't want to ever risk ordering again. We were ignored, we had been polite so there was no reason for the service we weren't given. Great food, horrible service! We have gone to this restaurant for years and years back, even when it was Singha Thai. The food has always been good, and the service in the past was always very good. We went there last night. I have never been treated so poorly for or ignored so much; we were seated by a very disgruntled young woman, and I had to go find her to ask for a drink menu. We gave her both our drink orders and food orders because we didn't know if we would see her again. She brought our food and drink pretty quickly after that, but there was never a smile and did not talk to us at all. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more
