The atmosphere was wonderful and you can see the owner put money into the decor to show a bit more class and design. I ordered the PP wings to start and I gotta tell you, you need to try these!! Soo good, with a nice crisp, breading and unique sauce. The Tongkatsu Ramen was really good in all aspects. I love the corn and the eggs, the pork and broth had nice flavorings. Met up with a friend from Salem while in town for work. The place seems pretty popular and is on the smaller side. The people working there are not overly friendly and are more direct to the point when ordering and asking questions. The spicy chicken karage had good flavor but there was definitely some hard, chewy, tendon pieces that needed to be discreetly discarded into a napkin. The takoyaki was flavorful and delicious. A cozy spot serving up an array of noodle dishes from ramen to khao soi to fusion creations of noodles from around the world! Although, I would say ramen is their main focus. The staff helping us was very friendly. I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and it's heavenly! The broth was light yet flavorful at the same time. Noodles were cooked to the softer end and there were tons of fresh toppings like green onions, sweet corn, and woodear mushrooms. The chashu slices were fatty and decadent while the ramen eggs were creamy and perfectly made. It's definitely one of the more enjoyable bowl of ramen I've had in the area! We love that this spot is in the neighborhood. When it's nice out, we ride our bikes here and the kids love it. I usually get the tonkotsu ramen, which is always excellent. I'm so exited about this new restaurant in the Westlake neighborhood at the base of Mountain Park! We arrived around 6pm, and there was only 2 tables left. The restaurant filled up while we were there. This neighborhood is embracing this new restaurant. This neighborhood has lots of families, and there were several tables with kids. For the finicky kids, I recommend the Chicken Karaage Rice Bowl or Appetizer (see my photo) Kids can enjoy these yummy Japanese Fried Chicken Nuggets while the rest of the family can enjoy healthy bowls of Ramen. The ramen here is very family style. the Tonkatsu is not spicy, unless you ask for more spice. I especially love that the ramens come with veggies, making it a balanced meal. The Beef Stew Ramen includes big chunks of tender beef. I was torn between the Tonkatsu and the Shrimp Tempura Ramen. I guess I will have the Shrimp Tempura Ramen the next time I visit. Our waiter was very attentive, even as the restaurant became full of families and couples. My friend actually ordered the Beef Stew Ramen, and got the Shoyu Ramen by mistake. Our waiter came by in a very short amount of time to check on how we were doing. "No problem! I'll bet you some Beef Stew", which he brought out in a minute. The ambiance was fresh, new, cozy, and inviting. My friend noticed the glass garage door, wondering if this was a garage conversion. I said that during the warmer months, opening the glass garage door allows for the fresh air to come in and opens up the space for more tables.
