Great salad rolls, safe (gluten free) sauces, curries, etc. Convenient when we're in Portland.

We drive by all the time, and ordered takeout as first time guests. Quoted a price on the phone, then right before paying at the restaurant, they said "sorry, we forgot to upcharge for the fish." I was confused, but there was a line behind me, so I paid. Went back online, and was doubly upset: 1) The original upcharge was already higher than their online order prices, and 2) I paid TWO upcharges for the one fish. Wouldn't have stung so much if the food was decent, but we couldn't finish more than a few bites. I'm not sure if the 5-star reviewers know how Thai food tastes. read more

Had not been in a while since i moved to the other side of town, but recently had dinner with my parents. Everything was delicious, and service was great - friendly and attentive but not overbearing. I had a seasonal curry dish and customized it - they did a perfect job with level of spice and the added veggies that i'd requested. Portions were decent - everyone had lunch for the next day. I'll definitely go back; excited to try some of the interesting/uncommon menu items. If you're in the Raleigh Hills/Garden Home/Hillsdale area, give them a try! read more

Been eating here off and on for years which has included many staff changes. Not the best Thai in town for sure. They cannot seem to create good tempura, either its soggy, over crunchy or lacking some vegetable. The Gang Ga Ree Curry lacks most vegetables. Heavy sauce and potatoes but could not find any carrots or peppers. Many of the vegetables were not cooked well. Mostly the food is so so these days especially for the money you spend. Thai food is typically very flavorful with lots of vegetables so I would not recommend, this restaurant has lost its flavor. read more

Having not been here in a while, I was pleasantly surprised by the lunch menu and accommodating staff. It's the first Thai restaurant I have found that will customize the dishes for you. The venue is nice worth a great patio surrounded by the namesake flowers. The server was friendly, and the good came out quickly. Unfortunately the food was just bad- I've had better from the freezer section. The tom yum was insipid and the vegetable chunks in it were more or less raw and chunky enough to make it more of a stew, and the pumpkin curry was so poorly peeled that the pumpkin was crunchy. It was also milder than what my kids eat. At $30 after tip for lunch for 1, I would expect far better. read more

I have been going to Thai Rose's for at least 12 years never had a bad meal I brought countless friends family members guess for lunch or supper Gail is a wonderful cook precise authentic Thai cooking the wait staff is very friendly and seek always to please the customer my favorite meal is very simple and I believe that Gail the owner cares about her freshness of product and presentation my favorite meal is papaya salad medium plus spicy my daughter's favorite meal is parking now and other favorites are the seafood dish with squid. To covid they have been short staffed like many other businesses but Gail has stayed true to for customer and customer base to stay open and to cook even if it's for several people or every table full. read more

Basic Thai - not great not bad. More like 2.5 stars. Panang Curry with Chicken: the amount of curry is very little since they provide the rice in the same box. The overall flavor was sweet(more) and spicy(less). Beef pad kee mao: the noodles were stuck together in one big lump and the beef was very dry. Lacked spice. Again too sweet for my liking. Seafood combo fried rice: there were squid, scallop in the fried rice. Squid has a texture, I personally feel, that's not suitable for fried rice. It's just rubbery. The scallops are nice and soft. All the dishes were ordered as medium spicy but all of them lacked spice and were sweet instead. read more

Thai Roses is near my work and wanted to try it since I was in the mood for Thai food. I came in to order and the time making the food was quite fast. They seemed pretty busy with lots of delivery orders. The customer service overall was just average. I stepped out for a bit and when I came back inside the restaurant, I saw an employee in the kitchen with her mask off but pushed it back up right when she saw me. Shouldn't they have their masks on at all times in the kitchen? If you have a sign that asks customers to keep their masks on, they should do their part and keep their masks on too, especially if they work in the kitchen. I ordered chicken pad Thai ($11.95) and green curry with chicken ($11.95). They were both pretty good, but the chicken in the pad Thai was a little dry. The flavor in the pad Thai was different than a lot of pad Thai dishes that I've tried before. It had this kind of 'burnt' flavor that made the dish taste extra delicious. I would order the pad Thai again but probably with tofu next time instead of chicken. The green curry was also really good! It was my first time trying green curry and I really liked the flavor, heat and the eggplant and bamboo. I ordered it with chicken and they didn't add too much chicken to this dish. This restaurant would probably satisfy your craving for Thai food! The food is good. I would come back to eat tofu pad Thai or try a different curry. read more

Definitely my number one Thai place. We enjoy their coconut shrimp appetizer. The service is amazing and staffs are welcoming.

Wonton soup: One of my favorite soups ANYWHERE. L20. Pad Kra Pao (Basil): Stir-fried ground choice of meat with Thai chilies, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and basil leaves. If it's convenient perhaps but there are better Thai places not too far away with far better customer service. My opinion is if you specialize in a specialty cuisine you should perfect and and make sure it's the best and make sure your guests feel welcome. Had dinner INSIDE Thai Roses as this Thai restaurant has a large indoor dining area and parking lot and thought it would be a nice change from typical take out. Ordered the chicken larb, green curry, and the gai kang (bbq chicken). Portions were incredibly generous with huge amounts to take back home for a second meal. The green curry was particularly delicious and what will bring me back - ordered on a spicy scale of 4 and it was perfection. The best curry I've had in SW Portland. hmm pleasantly surprised. Quick drop by after running some errands. I was craving thai all week and just drove in to the nearest joint. I usually always order pad thai (as my ultimate test) but it was a pad kee mao type of a day. when my dish came out I was already happy that it didnt look bland. (i hate when they dont use enough sauce and the noodles are pretty much pale..) Had a nice glaze and smelled great! The dish was quiet delicious and flavorful! I almost regretted not trying out the pad thai but maybe next time :) they also brought me out a tray of spicy sauce and a side of fish sauce with chili and that was delicioussss! read more

I absolutely love this place. The food is very tasty. You have to try the mango lamb curry when it's on special. The few times we've been here, the dining room was pretty empty-fallout from the pandemic. But the number of pickup orders we witnessed while dining was amazing. I'm not an expert on Thai cuisine, but I like the food here very much. The dishes are always well prepared, & served hot. The staff here is very friendly and always willing to help you decide on something if you want to try a dish you've never had. Service can be a bit slow, even when there aren't many tables, but I don't mind much because they're so nice. read more

Best pad see ew I've ever had and I'm an officianado, a connoisseur Service was quick and friendly, atmosphere is very clean with well-appointed decorations, and it just SMELLS clean in here with a huge beautiful aquarium (massive fish tank) in the middle of the restaurant. First, if you read my other reviews, pretty much I judge by the food. I could care less about customer service or the appetizers or the price, because, regardless of what you pay, you should get something of good quality if a restaurant is going to serve it. Second, beware of reviews in which people may be judging on unrealistic criteria due to ignorance of the food. For example, I would never order Vietnamese or Thai egg rolls in take out. Why? These kind of thinner egg rolls tend to get soggy quickly in a container due to the condensation that builds up from the heat. They should be eaten right away in an open environment. Now, Chinese egg rolls are a different matter altogether because they are roll material is thicker and fried more deeply, made to last through nuclear wars. Two things will exist after a nuclear war: cockroaches and old fried Chinese egg rolls. Anyhow, done with the disclaimers. Now the review (which is shorter than the disclaimer)... The most difficult dish, in my opinion, to make right is the yum nua or garb, which are both salads that have a salty, lemony taste to it. If a restaurant can nail this down, then the cook staff has the awareness of a thai palate that will permeate through the other food items. Well, they nailed it. Because of that, I would recommend this place to anyone. Do not expect a fancy place where you would celebrate your 25th anniversary. But if you want Thai in or near Beaverton, this is the place to go. read more

My wife and I ordered 4 different dishes. The Tom Kha was spoiled and sour. The Miang Kum was terrible. The Khao Soi was not Khao Soi at all, it was a bunch of noodles stuck together with no flavor.
