3.5 stars. The food was fine-- not fantastic. Service was a bit awkward, like the servers were either sad about something or distracted, idk. It wasn't relaxed or pleasant. The setting is nice but whatever you do when they ask you how spicy you want something please don't say the spiciest I eat spicy food and I thought I was gonna be able to handle it, but it was ridiculously spicy. This restaurant has great service, very clean, and absolutely delicious food. Would recommend for anyone who is in the mood for Indian food. Lots of variety for Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian meals. I still order from here from time to time. It's one of the better Indian options in the AV. I've yet to eat inside, but it looks charming and pleasant inside. Their customer service has been sub par in the past, but the food is typically very good. read more

Malhi's Indian Food is consistently delicious and fairly priced. Everything we tried was full of flavor. Our favorites include the Samosa, Chat Papari, Chicken Curry (Sri Lankan style), and the Bengan Bharta -- all cooked perfectly and so satisfying. And don't skip the Mango Lassi; it's a must-try and pairs well with everything. Highly recommend! read more

Was craving Indian tonight and where do I go? None other than the best spot in town, Malhis. I completely forgot and stopped by at 3pm and told they close the restaurant from 3-5pm daily. So no problem, just went to a nearby store to further work up an appetite and return back. Upon entering, properly greeted by staff, clean Interior. Ordered samosas and chicken tikka masala. An hour went by and no food, so that's why I knocked down one star. Restaurant wasn't busy so I don't know why slow service but servers apologized. Food was delicious, what I love about Indian is that embracing flavor, rich in savory condiments. Don't let size deceive you. At first glance I thought to myself the little canisters were so tiny but oh boy were they more than enough, enough to ask for trays to take home. Ordered a medium heat level on my chicken but must say, it was still pretty mild so wish it had a little more heat. Naans we're so light, fluffy and flavorful just in my opinion wish they were topped with more garlic. Overall very satisfied and left with a happy belly. Highly recommend, just hope next time service doesn't take as long for food to reach my table. read more

Amazing Indian food. I always get either butter chicken or tikka masala. Ordering it medium was just spicy enough for me! The waitress we had was sweet and attentive. The garlic naan bread is amazing. It gets pretty busy in the afternoon so I try to come in right when they open. read more

I've been going to Malhi's for over 20 years, and while last year's experience wasn't the best, things have recently taken a turn for the better. The vegan saag was absolutely amazing--so flavorful! Ordered through Uber eats and they took an extremely long time to prepare the order. In addition, the chicken tikka masala portion size could not have been any smaller. It was literally like four cubes of chicken in the container. I will not be ordering from here again what they used to serve was twice the size of what they're serving now. The wait for service is wildly long, and when the food does arrive, it smells like feet. I waited 45 minutes, and was about to leave before the waiter walked up and asks "you finally ready?". I would've forgotten it, if the food didn't taste like rotting chicken smells. In summary; horrible food, horrible service, tacky ambiance, and just a crap place to eat. read more

Everywhere we have lived we have looked for the best Indian restaurant. Seeing as Mahli's is the only Indian restaurant in town, this was the place to try! We were absolutely impressed with the staff! Our server was the only one in the restaurant with several tables and stayed on top of everything. Our food came out hot and in a timely manner, our drinks were always full and she never seemed rushed when speaking with us. The food was very good. We were a little disappointed in the fact that they did not have many of the choices we are used to, such as butter chicken. It seems this particular restaurant's specialty may be in curry as that was what took up most of the menu. The lunch portion was HUGE! The only criticism I would give is that the tray (although very cool looking) does not give you a very good way to mix the entree with the rice. Our biggest complaint was the raita. We love raita and were very disappointed to find ours to be very sour, as if it was spoiled. We pointed this out to our server and she promptly apologized and took it off our ticket. This location was convenient for today. I'm sorry but I'll go to the Palmdale location from now on. My plate was; Chicken Tikka Marsala, 2 orders of Naan bread Garlic and plain. Mango Lassi as well. The 2 stars are for the Naan Bread and Mango Lassi and the nice lady that took my order. 1. The Chicken Tikka Marsala was not XXXXXSpicy. 2. I took a photo of the above mentioned order, you'll notice it in the photo and it was taken after I had stirred it. 3. About a 1inch of grease was floating above my Chicken Tikka Marsala. 4. I could not continue to eat it. My wonderful Hubby said refrigerate it to harden the oil for removal. I'll try that. I'm so bummed I was having a craving of something spicier than Korean or Thai. Updated review; I was forced to come here buy a couple friends and I was so hesitant but it is what it is.. So you walk in to 80's decor and paint.. cockroaches on the wall, the people I was with actually pointed it out and I literally told them exactly why I avoid this place. The owner is planning commissioner in the antelope valley Raj Mahli, he has not changed and is still bad mouthing other Indian establishments. The food is recycled buffet food and just keeps getting sold throughout the time it's there. I got a coke and samosa, I'm Indian I know better than to order any entree from here, that tandoori chicken from the buffet is the same chicken that's being served in the butter chicken or chicken tikka masala at 8 pm during dinner. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in town. They bake the naan to order and everything is fresh and delicious. Fast and friendly service in a family friendly atmosphere. For food, my go to is Lamb Korma, hot. They'll make any dish mild, medium, hot, or "Indian Hot". Other great ones are the chicken jalfrezi, and biryanis. Be sure to try desert. I HIGHLY recommend the chicken curry, meat samosas, and chicken tandoori. Absolutely delicious!!! Very flavorful and cooked well. Some dishes (like the chicken tandoori and naan bread) will probably have some charring due to the way it's cooked (if you don't mind... and if you do, just rip it off and eat the rest). I gobbled the samosas in seconds! And you better believe the chicken curry and tandoori didn't last long either. read more

This was not a good dining experience. The food was mediocre with extremely small portions. I'll post a pic on Yelp. I paid over $70 for a dinner that "might" feed 2 people. First time here...and probably my last. First impression as I walked in was this place is too dark. I still preceded to enter and view their buffet options. I would say their selection is quite small, but it will fill you up. No dessert options. The waitresses stay busy, but one guy walked out as he waited forever for them to refill the chicken.
