Staying at an artsy airbnb nearby and the owner highly recommended this spot. We were not disappointed! I called the order in early in the day for 5p pick up. I read that the food is all made fresh and expect it to take 1-2hrs to prepare. We ordered the yellow Thai curry with tofu - the tikka masala with cheese, garlic naan and the last one was Malaysian Laksa. The meal was full of flavor. Like others mentioned I have to highlight the coconut in the curry. A real treat for my tastebuds. Everything was superb. The Laksa was bursting with flavors as well. So good. It's one of those meals where you are trying to identify each herb and spice used. And just want to take your time with each bite to thoroughly enjoy. Very complex flavors and so delicious. Was so excited to come here. I'm on my honeymoon with my vegetarian husband. We sat down immediately and were the only people in the restaurant. Nobody took our order for 20 minutes, two more people came in and immediately got their order taken. Then two more people came in and got their order taken. At this point we got our order taken and by this time the two other parties got their food and were eating. We had been sitting there for over an hour with no food and all we ordered a whole grain waffle, oatmeal, a fruit bowl, and some drinks. We were in the area on a business trip and needed to get away from the fast food in Tejon. This was a nice find. Upon arriving it is nothing to look at and sometimes parking can be a challenge but you can park across the street. When walking in there are 4-5 tables inside and a few outside so it can get full. They have a very large menu of Indian and Chinese dishes. I got the vegetable lo mein. I have a garlic allergy and everything they make is made to order. There were a few other people that had ordered in front of us so our waiter told us that it would be an hour and a half wait. Be sure you have some time as it is a small kitchen. This place was truly mind-boggling. We were in the area for the weekend and wanted to check this place out after seeing all the good reviews. The ambiance is very peaceful and calming, and I quite enjoyed the types of tables, chairs, dinnerware, and cutlery they had. The portion sizes are HUGE; it's definitely a bang for your buck kind of place since the prices are also reasonable. We ordered the Pakora for the table and had enough to easily split among the 6 of us. I also shared the Tofu Teriyaki Noodles with a friend, and we both were extremely full after eating our halves. They were very generous with the amount of vegetables, and the teriyaki sauce was yummy. I tried bites of my friends' dishes as well and found them all to be tasty and fresh. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We were seated immediately, but the food does take a while to come out since everything is made to order. In total, our meal ended up being over 2 hours. Fabulous Parathas and pakoras. They also made our kiddo some custom fried rice not on the menu and she loved it. The person serving us also said "today we have some great dal" and it didn't disappoint. The place has an understated, eclectic vibe. You feel like you're in a small part of auroville in India. This is a hidden gem less than 8 minutes off the 99 freeway in Frazier park. It's super cute inside, eclectic yet peaceful with very kind staff. Everything is made fresh to order, and comes out hot so you know they just cooked it. They use fresh, organic ingredients and even if your not vegetarian they have something that will be delicious. They serving size is plenty to share and the appetizer could have been shared with two other people because we had plenty of leftovers. The naan was soft, for the curry they ask if you want it spicy, mild or not spicy. For dessert we tried the mango sticky rice and was perfect serving size for two plus it was delicious and not super sweet. The menu is pretty lengthy but that just means more options. Good things take time to make and I think that's the mindset to go with because everything is made fresh so patience is key and well worth the wait. We stopped here after a day of hiking and off Roading in Frazier Park and were delightfully surprised with what we got. We had the Pakora, which as they claim is certainly a carnival in your mouth of amazing Indian flavors. It was like an Indian flavored veggie tempura with sweet chili dipping sauce on the side. Absolute hidden gem. Staying up the hill in Pine Mountain Club, a friend and I wanted to be sure I got nice vegan options for dinner so we drove down to The Red Dot. Wow, was it worth it (so were the spectacular mountain roads at sunset and in darkness on the way back.) Arriving around 7.30pm on a Saturday night in late April, there was one couple just leaving, one couple just being served, and us. We took our time ordering, looking at everything on the menu and alerting our server to our food allergies. I said, "this is our first visit. Is there anything you recommend?" He grinned and replied, "everything is good!" From the yums and to-go boxes of the table next to us, it's not only the portions that are big but the flavors too. My Chinese Kung Pao soy chicken was super tasty. (My one complaint is that it offers mild/medium/hot options, and I asked for hot but only found it medium. Still, it was deeply flavored with crunchy peanuts, salty sauce, generous soy meat, and fresh veggies over fluffy rice.) My friend had the cheesy naan dippers and cup of dal, served with ghee. I didn't try these, being lactose intolerant and vegan myself, but she said they were super good. So was the tapioca dessert. And we were so pleased with the friendly service, warm interior, and gift of Thai bananas at the end of the meal. Detour from the 5 to eat here. Drive down the mountain to eat here. The Pakora was especially good, with a nice texture of different vegetables in a deliciously fried batter. It was honestly big enough for an entree or for 3-4 people to share. The Saag Paneer with Naan was also very good, with the homemade Paneer being softer and a bit milder than my typical expectations. I was also a big fan of the Malaysian Laksa, which tasted spot on for my recollection of Malaysian flavors from my travels and had the right balance of spiciness and coconut milk.
