This weekend we had an emergency plumbing issue that unfortunately we had to call Roto Rooter for since Tunnell did not have availability that day. It required follow up the next day for a more permanent fix but Roto Rooter quoted us so much that my husband decided to call Tunnell again to see if they could squeeze us in the next day. They could and quoted us literally less than 1/4 of the price that Roto Rooter quoted us for hydro jetting. Upon arrival, Seth took a look and said we actually don't need hydro jetting and he could get the job done even cheaper with his chain. He did it quickly and efficiently. It's seriously so rare to find such an honest business these days and Tunnell goes above and beyond. Unbeknownst to Seth, my husband and I had just suffered a devastating loss of a loved one that weekend and the plumbing issue was just the cherry on top of a horrible chain of events. But Seth eased our worries and fixed our problem so that we had one less thing to worry about.

There was not enough flex in the pipe to use a coupler and digging up the driveway far enough in each direction was not an option. I searched YouTube for a solution and found Ramona's Plumber's (aka Greg Chick) video "How to repair PVC pipe: The four 90's method". This was exactly what I needed! He explained the technique clearly and shows step-by-step how to do it. The next day I called Greg to thank him for the vid and ask his advice about replacing my entire 50-year-old PVC main line to the water meter. We talked for over an hour. He is a great guy with a wealth of plumbing knowledge and was very helpful. He recommended that rather than retrenching over 100 feet of driveway to rip out and replace the old PVC (super expensive) that I should instead run 1" flexible PEX pipe inside the existing old pipe. No PITA trenching, a long lifetime solution, and best of all, I can do it myself rather than hiring plumber which will save me a ton of money. He told me which PEX to use, what fittings work best and where I could buy it. That phone call saved me thousands of dollars. I offered to PayPal him some cash to cover his time but he wouldn't take it. Ramona's Plumber is one of those vanishing old-school professionals that is an expert at what he does and takes care of his customers. DO NOT USE AKA…read moreSanford & Son Plumbing April 2023 Main line break. Wanted it tied back in to the well. Sanford said he had no idea where it tied in. So, I had no choice but to only have the City water line fixed. Had him replace the Backflow. He put in a LEAD one. Right on the box it said "Non-potable". Was not discovered until the backflow inspector came out. So I had to endure him a 2nd time. He was supposed to show up at 8AM to get it done in one day as I had to work the next day. I paid extra for weekend work. He argued with me about where to dig the trench as it was being moved a bit to avoid the Mulberry tree roots. My 14 year old cat was buried where he wanted to dig. So, it did not get done Saturday, so I was not here when he did the work on Sunday as I had to work. I had to leave for work at 11:30 Monday. See text message. So now I had to have my well motor/pump replaced. Used a well company. He replaced hose bibs that were old and corroded or handles broken off. The one on the Patio WAS functioning prior to the main line repair. The new one does not work. I contacted Sanford to come out and fix it. He said he would send the Invoice. He has ignored all emails regarding this. I have my copy and after the fact, while paying him, he took my copy and wrote something on it. See copy of Invoice. He was just an all around idiot. Standing in my yard with my check - he had to come back Monday before I had to go to work. I had questions about the job, since I was not there the whole time, he refused to answer and turned to walk away 3 times - with me holding my check. He finally took the check and my invoice and got in his truck. I tried to open his car door to get my copy back. He screamed "get off my car". I could see him matching up the papers. Figured he was writing the check # on there. NOPE. See the odd handwriting next to TOTAL. My neighbor told me that she was "concerned for my safety" as he was sooo aggressive and nasty.

He definately had our best interest. We gained so much information on keeping up with our plumbing maintenance as we showed him around the house and yard. We had waited for years to fix/replace faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms. Looks and works great. While working, he identified our dishawasher was not connected properly after all these years.
