In the case of Oakmount of San Antonio Heights. We did the tour that really brought the Staff, Patients and facility into a light of excellence. The treatment that my Brother is receiving is far superior than the homes he was at. When he pushes his alarm they are there with smiles and concern in a way unmatched by other homes. The communication and knowledge of the staff from the receptionist, environmental Sys, Nurses, Kitchen staff, Grounds Keepers, and especially there highly qualified Maintenance staff who are incredibly prompt as was the case with Eric. We had just started moving in and i was extremely busy coordinating the move, when this young man offered to assist me with a TV that was coming the next day. And to my amazement he was there and had it hung in record time. Now i am a retired Engineer from three different hospitals and we couldn't have done that. So kudos to the Management for hiring well trained eager staff. The bottom line is check this place out and save time and protect your loved ones. Amazing Facility and staff. Brian Mullenix.

To all Families who are seeking for a GREAT,SAFE,RESPONSIBLE Nursing Home for they're loved one,…read morethen please read on. I had to place my cousin in a home for her Dementia 2 years ago and when I was searching I had picked the most beautiful and most costly facility that appeared to be what I thought was the best! Well, don't let the same mistake happen to you like me. After realizing my mistake and then finding GRACIOUS LIVING I couldn't be happier for finally having peace and mind for my dear cousin!! The staff (Emma, Jerome & Edith) was so GRACIOUS,ATTENTIVE,PATIENT and COMPASSIONATE with my cousin and our family!! I wish I had been introduced to Gracious Living upon my first search!! Please give Paul or David a call and go visit there homes. My cousin was in the Upper North house! I highly recommend this OUTSTANDING FACILITY!! My cousin is no longer with us, she passed away last night, but I'm so glad she was at Gracious Living when she departed!! I thank you for reading this and I hope I have given you some helpful information!

After contacting this facility I was greeted by Paul who without hesitation answered all my questions for my school project with extensive knowledge of his facility and went above and beyond to provide me with all the information I needed for this school report. Although my review is not based on the treatment facilities services itself, it's good to note that if a manger of this facility takes the time out of their day to answer questions with a caring and compassionate manner, they most certainly would take the time to provide top quality care to their residents. Thank you Paul for taking the time to speak with me about your wonderful facility!

The staff here have genuine heart. They are kind, attentive, and consistently go above and beyond for their residents. Our loved one resides in memory care, and while this stage of life can be emotional, the Claremont Place team has made the journey feel lighter. The caregivers, Med Techs, administrative staff, dining staff, maintenance, laundry, and everyone in between are intuitive, patient, and treat residents with the dignity and warmth you hope for when you entrust someone you love to another persons care. Management is honest, respectful, and responsive. Any concern is met with clear communication and prompt follow through, and their experience working with older adults is evident in the way they anticipate needs before they become issues. It feels like a true partnership. They also bring joy to daily life. Holidays and celebrations are handled with thoughtful intention, and the food and activities create a sense of home and community. We visit often, but it brings real peace knowing we do not have to. Our loved one is in very good hands. We are genuinely grateful for the team at Claremont Place and the care they continue to provide.

My mom moved into assisted living at Claremont Place about two and a half months ago. She has her…read moreown room, kitchenette, and bathroom and two closets. In her room, she has a single bed, a large recliner, a dresser, two large chairs and a small desk for her computer with a chair. She has a nice big window with a view of the garden that she can see from her chair. With all this in the room, she still has lots of space to maneuver her walker safely and get to the window and her air handler to make herself comfortable. The food is very good. We eat there often with my mom. Most of the servers make an effort to remember my mom's preferences and they bring her what she wants before she even asks. Staff is attentive, concerned and proactive. The front desk is a hub for all information and if they don't know the answer, they follow up. I will post more updates in the months to come. Overall we made the right choice.

San Antonio Senior Care Facility DESERVES a 2nd look. I was referred to them from VITAS Healthcare…read moreHospice. My diabetic mom, with dementia, suffered multiple strokes that left her with 50% brain capacity. It was so confusing because she could talk, eat, and have slight movement in her upper body, but not her lower body. She could wiggle her toes, which confused me more because I always thought that strokes affected one side of the body, right or left. NOBODY at the hospital could explain this to me, but just like everything else in my mom's life, she was an anomaly. Anyway, mom's care needs required hand feeding; with special dietary restrictions: mechanical soft (due to the stroke), low fat (due to cholesterol), low salt (due to high blood pressure), lactose intolerant, AND a low sugar diet (due to the diabetes); hence, a very limited diet. However, be rest assured, the San Antonio Senior Care Facility handled it without batting an eyelash. And in addition to mom's restricted dietary needs, she would be on a catheter for the rest of her life, and diapers to accommodate the other end. These care takers are up for the task. They work hard!! They bathed my mom, dressed her, fed her, and did it all with the compassion and dignity she deserves. This was all I could ask for right? I questioned that because I had to resign myself to "comfort care" until she passed because this facility did NOT have certified nurses that can legally administer insulin injections. So now, I'm struggling with the fact that I can't afford another care facility that has certified people to administer insulin injections. I was beating myself up over this because I felt like it was a case of involuntary manslaughter, on my part. However, this was NOT the case. That is why I started this review with the comment; "this facility deserves a second look". When you get past the fact that it's a three-bedroom home that looks like your grandmother lived there, and smells like she cooks ethnic dishes, you start to see it differently. Let me explain. Each bedroom has a sliding glass door with a beautiful view of a well-kept garden, and when you get past the aged décor, you look again and see an impeccably clean home. It may have mismatched tile in each room, but I searched the bathrooms, showers, toilets, beds, corners of rooms, under beds, and unbeknownst to them... I searched the refrigerator and cupboards. Yes, it was old, but it was clean. Then I thought about it, and thought, how do you remodel without disrupting the patients and their way of life? Then I analyzed the fact that there are only 6 patients total in the household, and 3 caretakers. That's a ratio of 2-1. That is BETTER than a "skilled nursing facility" that has the certified people to administer insulin. Finally, it is my intention to write this review to give credit where credit is due, and comfort to those who are in my situation. My mom only lived there for the final 24 hours of her life, but it was a BLESSING because she didn't have the chaos noise of the hospital, and she had people who mourned her loss when she died. These people didn't even have the time to establish a bond with my mom, but they seemed like they mourned her loss with me. They are NOT indifferent to the passing of another's loved ones. In conclusion, there is one final note any reader may desire to know. When I signed the contract and made the payment, they only collect 1 month's payment at a time, NOT first and last like EVERYONE else. Also, they prorate the days in the month, and as I learned when I signed the contract papers, other facilities charge additional monies for what I THINK should be included. Eric (the owner) and his team agree with us. They do NOT charge additional monies for things like: bathing, furniture, laundry, phone service, special food, etc. So again, I implore you, (God forbid you are in my situation GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY.
