2nd visit. First time I went specifically for the pork rice vermicelli with spring roll. I ordered and got a bahn mi to my surprise. Not bad. Came back and definitely got a new vibe. New Menu board with graphics. Much cleaner eating area and furniture. Read reviews to find out new owners. Sadly I think price has doubled so value may have suffered. However pork was sweet and Smokey and veggies were crisp and fresh. Good bowl. I'll definitely shop at the market again and won't be able to pass up trying something at Mamas.

Casual joint, homemade food, friendly, and efficient. Bahn Mi was excellent. Bread was soft and didn't cut the roof of your mouth. lol. That's a winning bahn mi these days.

    Sandwich, very good.

Good food made fresh. For $12-13 you get a full meal and don't have to tip. We don't see these kind of prices anymore.

The building replaces what I believe used to be a Subway. Upon entering I was a bit stunned. The interior had an inviting small sit in area for dining in. The TV menus were vibrant with all the food options. Home made or locally sourced Vietnamese delicacies surrounded the register from drinks, snacks, and more. Very welcoming environment and decor. Being a new place and on the go, my wife and I shared the #2 which was the Bahn Mi Dac Biet and Vietnamese Iced Coffee for a total of $16.95 (this included my $1 tip). Bahn Mi Dac Biet ($8.95): The meats included were Grilled Pork, Pork Bologna, and Pork Roll. Once I opened the sandwich, I knew this was going to hit the spot. Visually it had all the semblance of an authentic Bahn Mi, the fresh slightly toasted French style baguette, liver pate, Vietnamese mayo, pickled radish and carrots, cilantro, and jalapeños. The slightly toasted sandwich was delicious. The tender flavorful pork in combination with the crunchy exterior bread and soft inside marriages well. Because of the richness of the pork and mayo, the pickled radish and carrot cuts through the fat and brightens the sandwich up. The jalapeños and cilantro brings in freshness. All in all it was wonderful. There were 14 different Bahn Mi options. To choose, I asked the cashier and the young lady recommended the #2 (what we got) and #5 (pork belly). She was super helpful and polite. After we ordered, a family unfamiliar with Vietnamese food came in and asked a bunch of questions. It was actually overwhelmingly the amount of questions (and demanding tone) but the cashier was patient, clear, and concise when answering. As a former waiter and now health care worker, I can recognize she is the type of person you want to represent your business. Give her a raise! We'll be back, not only because of the quality of food served here but because of the customer service as well Ca Phe Sua Da "Vietnamese Iced Coffee" ($6.95): we ordered a large. Let me preface by saying, I hate buying coffee out. I could go on a spiel about the cost of coffee out vs at home but I'll save you the bore. This coffee was elite. Vietnamese coffee is known for being on the stronger side and yes this was. Strong in the best way possible without being bitter. I believe the coffee is sweetened with condensed and/or evaporated milk. Regardless of milk, this coffee was worth the price because of its unique flavor. I will be ordering this coffee every time my wife and I stop by. Oh and they serve Pho as well! I'm excited to come back and share with yall. Peace

I've been hankering for a banh mi, and that craving was finally satiated. The pork belly in the #1 was crispy and *chef's kiss.* The baguettes were a great texture: crackly on the outside and soft on the inside. A good amount of meat and veggies. If I had a con it would be that the jalapeños weren't spicy at all, but we were pre-warned about that. The service was fast, and the cashier was able to answer questions about allergens and the food choices. Very important. The music was a little loud in there, but I'm a little sensitive to sounds. That might not bother other people. I noticed that there is a durian smoothie, so I'll be back for that and another banh mi. Overall a great experience.

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food that truly delivers on flavor, quality, and value…read more-- this is the spot. We ordered a variety of dishes to really get a feel for the menu: the Vietnamese crepes (bánh khot), fish sauce chicken wings, bánh mì, hu tieu nam vang, and the garlic noodles with filet mignon. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. The Vietnamese crepes were crispy and packed with flavor, the fish sauce wings were perfectly balanced -- savory, slightly sweet, and addictive. The bánh mì had that ideal crunch on the outside with fresh, flavorful fillings inside. The hu tieu nam vang was beautifully prepared and comforting. And the garlic noodles with filet mignon? Tender, perfectly cooked beef over rich, buttery, garlicky noodles -- easily a standout. Beyond the food, the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere felt inviting and welcoming -- the kind of place where you want to sit, eat, and stay awhile. What really impressed me was the value. The prices for the quality and portion sizes are outstanding. You can tell the chef takes pride in every plate and is truly holding it down for the Vietnamese community by serving food that feels both authentic and elevated. We'll absolutely be back. Highly recommend coming hungry and ordering a little bit of everything.

I'm a slow eater but I was eating it for 30+ minutes. Also ordered a banh mi--it was not bad! Not my favorite in Philly but maybe the rice just outshined it. I was surprised at how long the food came out actually. Yes the menu is large but the last thing that came out was the sandwich, believe it or not. But not long enough to keep me away.

My favorite is the beef bone they give you with super tender meat. FYI for those not familiar : it's perfectly normal for your pho to come with raw beef in takeout orders. You will have to boil the broth and cook the meat. This is to keep it tender. If they precook it, the texture of eye of round beef will get tougher if not eaten immediately. Same deal for the noodles. If you want the best texture, ask them for raw noodles when you takeout. This way, it won't be already boiled and a bit more soggy during transport. Pro tip : cook your noodles and meat in a pot with just boiling water. This way, you're not using the broth to cook and mess up the taste and texture of the broth. Great service, very fast and efficient. Staff are all proficient in English. This might sound trivial, but they got large thick napkins. It adds to the experience. I hate those quick casual eateries that has the 1 ply napkins that rip as you pull it out of the box. When you know you've made it to their inner circle : They whip out the CAROUSEL OF CHILLIES. A caddy of 3-4 super hot peppers. Habaneros, jalapeños, Thai red chillies, etc. If they automatically bring it out for you, it possibly can mean : You look worldly and travel a lot to develop a taste for heat. They can sense your crayyy energy. Congrats !
