Saigon spice is a newer restaurant in the almost all Asian strip mall on brace Road in Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill. This place is rapidly becoming a mini Chinatown. Saigon spice is a large restaurant and it's very clean and welcoming. It has a very pleasant modern decor. We ordered the vermicelli special and the wonton soup. Both dishes were good and had nice flavor profiles. I would like to come back to explore the menu further to get a better read on the place. I love that Vietnamese restaurants are pretty consistent across the board. I can add Saigon Spice to the long list that I enjoy. I guess we can say that this is still a somewhat newer restaurant in a shopping center adding new businesses. I made my way here for lunch one day. The inside is large, accommodates a lot of people, and has a modern look. The menu has all of the usual favorites, add ons, and drinks. I've been to Saigon Spice several times now and am thoroughly impressed with the food. The banh mi are top notch, but the pho and other soups are some of the best in the area. Service is always friendly and quick. The space is clean and crisp but can be a little loud if it is crowded. I usually go on weeknights and it's never more than 6-8 tables at a time. This last trip, I had the spicy lemongrass beef soup with beef shank and pork roll. Broth was amazing and there was a generous amount of protein. Also tried the salt and spice wings, which were huge and awesomely seasoned. Definitely a must try. Make it a point to check this spot out if Vietnamese food is your jam. read more

We decided to eat here before our monthly grocery trip so we don't shop while hungry. I ordered the bone-in chicken pho. The broth was amazing. So light and flavorful. I didn't have to add anything besides sriracha because I like it spicy. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I can't wait to go back for more. The wings were hard & over-fried but tasty. My kids enjoyed the grilled beef & spring rolls. The pork chops were very dry & tough- must be the cut they used. I came here during lunch to try this place out knowing it just opened and I was VERY satisfied with the pho dac biet. The broth is flavorful and they give you a generous portion of noodles and meat. The portion is slightly more than I can handle BUT that's a great problem to have. The service was good and we got our orders in quick. The appetizer came out quick as well and by the time we finished it our bowls of pho had already came out. The restaurant is quite spacious and lovely and feels clean and bright. Located next to Hung Vuong, this new Vietnamese place is solid. My family and I ordered grilled pork noodles and rice, fresh chicken pho, and a banh mi to go. Chicken was very juicy with a good clear broth.l for the pho. Grilled pork was tender and flavorful, but the rice was a bit dry. The banh mi we got this time was good in terms of meat, bread, and provided toppings but the first time we had the banh mi, the bread was very flat and not that great. However, it seems like the restaurant is learning as they continue to grow. Still don't know how this is never an actual combo at places...I cant be alone in this...lol. The summer rolls were summer rolls. Not bad, but not life changing. Hit the cravings spot. The pho was delicious! The broth is beefy/meaty and heavily herby and fresh! Just the way I like my pho. Could have been a bit more tendon, but the pho was very good. We tried this corn milk with like a grass jelly...it was surprisingly good! I mean, as long as you like the taste of corn. Its just sweet enough but not overly sweet, and the jelly adds a nice texture similar to a bobo tea or halo halo. Will absolutely be back in the future! I am from California, and I can confirm Saigon Spice's dishes bring me back home! The pho and bun bo hue that we tried were flavorful and had the right amount of meat and noodles. They had a unique array of drinks, including nuoc mia (sugar cane juice), sua bap (corn milk), and basil seed peppermint. Food was ok. The taste was good but there is something missing/unusual with every dish. Like pho noodles were too hard. Vermicelli dish was not the right type of noodles. Chicken dish can really use a bit more veggies like lettuce and a few more slices of cucumbers so it's not just well, chicken and white rice. Honestly such simple improvements would make the food so much better. The staff were nice, but they just aren't pros. For example, the hot sauce on the table was a brand new bottle, so new that I have to unscrew the cap and peel off the seal myself. We had little ones with us, and they put us on the side which was good, but I had to go grab a booster seat myself. I had to ask for chopstick not once, but twice because they only brought one pair out when we asked the first time, and they only gave us one fork to begin with.... There were 3 adults and 2 kids, and they gave us only 4 napkins. But they did give us 2 kiddie cups of water and extra small bowls for the kids without us having to ask. Also found a piece of hair in my pho so obviously not impressed. They remade and brought out a new one, but didn't give me any basil/bean sprouts/jalapeño. At that point I just felt bad for yet another request that seems so obvious, but pho is just not the same without these items. The atmosphere is nice and clean in general, so I do think this place has a lot of potential. I'm just not sure if I would go back especially with little kids. Too much work when it's supposed to be a relaxing meal. Bun rieu (crab noodle soup) isn't that good. I was excited to see them add it to menu, but as of June 2024, flavor is missing. I hope they improve it later. I keep adding the shrimp paste they give but it just makes it saltier. Needs more crab flavor, more bone broth. However I do like the rice dishes, very good marinaded meats. The corn pandan drink is way too sweet. Pho is not that good to me. There is a place in Pennsauken route 38 that does it better. Bo Ne (sizzling steak and eggs) isn't quite sizzling. It's too expensive $22 for a few cubes of beef. Taste is a bit too salty. The interior is bright, clean, good service. Very spacious for large parties. Which beats other Vietnamese restaurants in that it's modern and more inviting setting. For now they need to improve on the food. I hope they will be around longer. read more
