    Shrimp curry fried rice

This restaurant is the latest in a line that have filled the space once occupied by Marvin's, but this one feels like it might last. We were in town for the weekend and were looking for something we hadn't tried before... so we gave Mama Mai's a shot. We didn't regret it, as the Pad Thai, curry fried rice, and spring rolls were very delicious. The Pad Thai had warm flavor, the fried rice had a bit of heat, though not too much, and the spring rolls were crispy and hot, bursting with savory goodness. While it wasn't the greatest food I've had, or even our local favorite, it was reasonably priced, the staff were friendly, and it provides variety that can be pretty difficult to find otherwise in Stevens Point. We definitely recommend, and would go back without hesitation!

Pad Thai I couldn't wait to dig into! Great texture and amazing flavor, medium spice level was perfect.

First time here for takeout today and already I can't wait to go back! Wow, knockout flavors on all 3 dishes I tried. Had the Steamrolls appetizer which is a soft rice paper/noodle wrapped around ground pork, mushroom, and other fillings, it came with some nice diced pâté on top, cilantro and fried shallots, and the Hmong pepper sauce it comes with tastes like it also has ground peanuts in it, so good! If you like spring/summer rolls, I bet you would like these. Also got the Papaya Salad, there's a choice between Lao and Thai style; I've had Thai style a lot before so I tried the Lao. I would call it a slightly earthier, duskier sauce, maybe more complex with more going on than regular Thai papaya salad? Nice crunchy papaya shreds, beans, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, plus other beautiful vegetables I'm not sure I recognize but loved! (Need to learn more about the Lao style, I'm so curious now!) Didn't come with a hunk of raw cabbage as I'm used to w/ Thai style, which may be the Lao preparation, which I really liked actually. Everything was dressed together and so good, a really beautiful & powerfully fresh dish. And finally, kind of a boring go-to, but I love me some Pad Thai and this is honestly among the best I've ever had! (Maybe THE BEST?!) Perfect sauce to noodles ratio, had some nice fresh bean sprouts on top and green onions. Mine did not have a fried egg on top as some other reviewers mentioned, which was totally fine with me. I asked for everything with medium spice and it was perfect for me, the steamrolls pepper sauce was more on the mild side, totally good so I could taste the complexity of it, but the papaya salad and the Pad Thai had great heat with a nice burn that didn't linger too long, exactly what a medium should be. This was more than plenty food for two people. Take out is super safe with a masked up staff member passing the food through a takeout window by the front door. They also had a nice patio carved out of the parking lot that I would be totally comfortable dining in given the rest of the precautions I could see they're taking. We are just in town visiting in-laws, but I can't wait to come back here with my husband the next time we're in Stevens Point!

So so so good, a favorite for me and my friends!! The dining atmosphere could be a little more comfortable, but it really doesn't matter much once they put delicious bowls of soup in front of you ** they've yet to disappoint!

I lived in Korea for 3 years and visited throughout Southeast Asia every few months. The middle of Wisconsin seems like an unlikely place to find a restaurant that serves authentic and delicious Southeast Asian noodles and cuisine, yet here we find Mama Mai's Noodle Cafe. An unexpected but wonderful gem!

    Thai boat noodle soup

I had the thai boat noodle soup and it was bland. I only ate the meat and left everything else. Luckily their chicken wings made up for it. It's my to-go-to appetizer. The pepper sauce that comes with it is amazing! Their pho isnt the best in town especially when it's a hit and miss. I think if it were consistant I would say it's the best in town. The young lady in the front has a "pick and choose" customer service. When we went in the last time, she talked to her table (unsure if she knew them) the whole time even when the table had their food. You could tell the other customer looked annoyed. Where as, we only had her check up on us when she came to get our order. Overall, I dont mind coming here.

    Clean and fresh!

Tasty food. I was surprised that I was able to get such a quality food in the area. I had eaten there twice during my short stay in town.

Egg rolls were pretty good and the pho is as good as any in central Wisconsin. I will be trying more items.

It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. I expected more exciting seasoning, but it was bland. Perhaps it was just what I ordered though.

At kbbq???) So glad we did because we found this place instead. We were able to get a customized option for dining that worked for us and our little picky eater. Loved the variety and the meats were flavorful, out quickly, and fresh. Their thai coconut (can't remember name) broth was so good even my son enjoyed it. Everything was clean and well maintained. Overall though the service is what sold us. We eat a lot of kbbq and the service is usually good but our waiter was exceptional. He was attentive, patient and kind. We are so happy we ended up here during our short time in Appleton. If you want kbbq or hotpot in the area, THIS is your spot in my opinion!

You can eat way more different items than just pho here. They have everything from laab to Hmong sausage with sticky rice and of course, egg rolls. Ok, food is pretty average however their menu is extensive. The food tastes so, SO much better than the Hmong delis in the same area. Their pepper dip is delicious. Great location; right on South 3rd Avenue where I grew up as a kid. Private parking. The establishment was an old supper club back in my day. Nostalgic. The ambience need some work. Everything is dated and dark. Like a grandparents basement. I was bothered with the group sitting next us. One guy spoke as if his buddies were standing a half block away. Our server was quick on his feet and helpful with the menu. He answered questions promptly and gave us a heads up if an item would be delayed in preparing. So helpful. We didn't have to wait long to get our food. Shorter time than at the local Hmong deli, I can promise you that and the restaurant was half full. Would, and have, returned.

Service: Friendly and explained the menu and ordering process well. Food: Holy crap. I am so mad I didn't come here sooner. The food is phenomenal. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items. We ordered the pork egg rolls (super crispy outside, not greasy, and the filling was really flavorful and well balanced), crab rangoons (super crispy wonton, filling was packed with flavor), and the fresh spring rolls, hands down these have to be my favorite spring rolls around, the only thing I'd change is putting crushed peanuts in the dipping sauce for them.
