Not worth the price. I got a square pizza, chicken marsala, an order of garlic knots and two drink drinks. Total came back to $67. Add an order this off of GrubHub or anything, I called and I picked this order up. And the pizza was frankly, not good. And the marsala was flavorless. If I had paid like $35-$40 (Which by the way if you go off of the menu they have on their website, that's what it would've costed. But I guess their menu is outdated and has the old prices on it) for that I wouldn't be so upset. But the fact that it came out to $67 is disgusting. read more

This is my Girlfriend's local go to Italian takeout joint. She has great taste and Mama Rosa is fantastic. The portions are huge and the price is fair. I love the people here. Just a tight knit friendly group. You get the feeling of being at home in the quaint little dining area and there's even a few places to sit and wait for your order. You can't go wrong with any dish and their pizza is killer good!!! My fav is their tomato sauce. Every dish and the pizza have great sauce. Bravo!!! This block is cutthroat with the tomato cakes... Mama Rosa (established in '71 - you're overdue for your colonoscopy!), across the street from a Domino's (no thanks) and just a stone's throw from (the always excellent) Ferazolli's. It's been a few years since our last visit here and... the pizza is solid. (And they seem to specialize in personal deep dish pies from what they had prominently displayed behind the glass.) Their garlic knots (this might be the only local pizzeria that charges you for the little container of sauce for dipping) were unevenly cooked, but the ones that were properly charred were tasty. And their cavatelli & broccoli (on the most recent visit) was... okay. The portion-size was incredibly small (compared to every other pizzeria that I've ordered this from) but it was flavorful. Inside is clean with a handful of tables (complete with the old-school red-checkered tablecloths). Parking can be an issue. Pricing was fine. (Overlooking how teeny-tiny the pasta entrée was, of course.) Decent all around but not a place that'll fall into the family's weekly pizza rotation. read more

Have been ordering delivery from Mama Rosa for years and the Margarita is our go-to pie. Out of all of the pizzas we've ordered only 1 or 2 didn't meet their excellent standard. Good chewy foldable crust, cheese not salty, delicious sauce and plenty of it. We had a location shoot at our house a long time ago (2009?) and the police who were on site told us it was their fave, and we've been ordering ever since. read more

This place is awful. I previously ordered a lentil soup from here and was very dissatisfied. Today I ordered their Italian hero. The price was $.8.95 for the sand which. I also bought a can of Diet Coke. The total came out to $13.83. When I asked "why so much,...how"?, the guy told me because I asked for lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise, salt, pepper and vinegar. My son LOVES their pizza however, I feel in the past year it has changed tremendously and that may be due to new ownership. The sauce doesn't taste the same to me anymore, so I don't feel it's the best in town anymore. I decided to try an entree and went with the eggplant parm which I admit, I normally order from Da Mario's in town, but they're closed on Sunday. So, I gave Mama's a try and can say I won't bother again. The eggplant wasn't flavorful, had no breading which I don't mind but their version needed it. The cheese was sliced mozzarella and very little of it - I prefer a cheesier platter personally. When I took the lid off it didn't look appealing and upon first bite, it definitely needed seasoning to be added which I did. At least the salad was decent. read more

I ordered here for a 7yr old bday party at Rutherford Swim Club and the driver and the entire staff when calling in the order were so professional. The pizza everyone raved about even saying they haven't had pizza this good in a very long time. We ordered white, cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza (with extra sauce which is a huge recommendation). Get an itemized receipt every time!! Not sure if it's the owners or workers adding on a tip for themselves, but I have been consistently overcharged. Always get the same thing 2 square margarita pies which I confirmed verbally & via menu cost $22.95. I was charged $60 on my CC when I called in the order and paid over the phone (for a pick up not delivery) a couple of weeks later was charged $50.78 for same order ( which by the way is an extra $2 because tax is not 10.6%) I would never have noticed a couple of dollars being added on, but when someone got greedy and charged me $60 for two pies, I noticed! read more

The food is really good. However, on their extra cheese pizzas they hardly put any cheese on the pizza. If that was an extra cheese pizza we ordered the other day I would like to see a regular pizza. They did give us a credit for the toppings but it was disappointing when you are expecting a nice cheesy pie and you get hardly any cheese. This place just Rocks. The pizza is always tasty and they always have an array of choices. I can even co e in and get deep dish franchese slices! I've been addicting to their Chicken Romano. Although I've been craving sushi lately, I'll never say no to pizza. I walked in immediately looking to see if they accepted cards (I need to start carrying cash...). They do, and it's a $10 minimum. Ordered an Italian Hero and a large chicken vodka pizza. The hero barley had enough cold cuts and any real Italin restaurant/ pizza place that serves heros on this bread should be embarrassed. This is the bread I'd expect from a gas station sandwich. Definitely NOT Italian bread. The pizza was under cooked and obviously tilted at some point because and the cheese, vodka sauce and chicken had slid off the pizza. My family loves this place!!! My kids are so comfortable here that they ask for crayons and the remote control for the TV as soon as they walk in. We eat here at least once a week. We usually go for the pizza but we do enjoy the food , food. (I know you know what I mean ). The chicken francese pizza is a favorite of mine and it is also my son's favorite slice to beg me for until I give him almost my entire slice. I love it juicy. My mom usually orders the chicken rollatini without the prosciutto which is criminal but she likes it. I keep consistent and love the chicken francese entree. What can I say I'm a creature of habit.
