Their pizza is never oily because they use quality cheeses. We usually get a pizza with one topping plus a sub. My son loves their meat balls, the chicken cutlets and their philly. I like their garden salad without the olives but If you love black olives go for it the regular way. Their soups are also pretty good. My favorite sandwich is their veal cutlets. This is a local pizzeria with a dining room. We brought a bottle of wine and walked over to enjoy and support a local business. The service was prompt and efficient. I would probably normally give this four stars. It has solid jersey pizza, great choice for the neighborhood, not worth traveling long-distance to. I absolutely love this pizza joint. When my family and I are craving some pizza, this is usually one of the first places we think of going. We have ordered out and sat inside for dinner. The restaurant is tiny, but comfortable. It's nice to sit by the window, eat some pizza, and people watch. The pizza is delicious. It's your standard pizza, not thin crust, with the perfect amount of cheese, and a delicious sauce. Not only is their pizza good, but their penne vodka is to die for. It's amazing! We've also had their chicken francaise and salads and everything has been on point. We catered from them for my daughters first and second birthday. What really sealed the deal was, they allowed us (last minute by the way) to hold her second birthday party in the restaurant. We found out it was going to rain on her party date, and we had already placed a catering order with them. We asked if we could hold her party in the restaurant and they were BEYOND accommodating to us. They even cut us a little slack since we already ordered with them. Lucky for us that the party was held there, because all the food we ordered was quickly gobbled up and we had to order three more pizzas! I ordered a few items for delivery. The chicken soup was OK, but the fettucini Alfredo had no flavor. In general the food was not great, but the worst was that when the delivery came the total seemed significantly higher than I was expecting, and a $5 tip was already added in the tip space for the credit card ticket without my consent. It did not feel right, but I signed. Then decided to check the itemized receipt, but there was no copy of a receipt in the bag. Luckily, I had a menu from before and confirmed that I was being overcharged. Found this restaurant years ago after moving into the area. Having grown up on Manhattan's Lower East Side and then living in Hoboken for a number of years, I'm a bit of a "Pizza snob." When you've become used to the likes of Rays and Mario's, it pretty difficult to find local establishments that compare. Interestingly, our family first tried Emilia's not for the pizza but rather because someone mentioned to us that they had really good veal. (A lot of the pizza joints around here serve up breaded veal like substances when you order veal.) The first time I entered the place I was a bit skeptical but quickly found out, to my surprise, that not only was the veal quite good (and actually veal), but so was the sauce and everything else we ordered. Been going back for over a decade now and consider Ronnie and Chris, the owners, friends. and that is how you are treated when you walk into the place. When it arrived it was just the plain old fashioned Sicilian. No Margherita. The rude girl on the other end says if she heard that she would have wrote it down. SHE wrote the order down wrong AND charged us for the more expensive pie. When I pointed out that she charged me for the more expensive pie she insisted she didn't.
