Horrible experience today. We are frequent customers and we asked for grilled chicken with balsamic fresh mozzarella. When speaken to the person on the phone they told me $7.50 a piece so I asked for 2. I had a nice dinner with my family at Hasbrouck Heights Pizza last week. It was a Friday night so the place was pretty packed. Nevertheless, we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. I also like that there is outdoor seating available. The place feels like your typical pizzeria. Service is very friendly and our order was taken promptly. For appetizers we got calamari and wings. Both were pretty good. The calamari was fried the way I like it, not too crispy but not too chewy. Just right. They added red pepper flakes to the marinara which added a welcome spice. The wings were solid too. Nothing special, just a good buffalo wing. For the pizzas we got 1 specialty pie and 1 Grandma pie. The specialty pizza we got was primarily meats and it was pretty good except the crust felt a little underdone. Maybe next time we'll order the crust well done. Now the crust on the Drunken Grandma pie (vodka sauce) was pretty much perfect. It wasn't floppy and it had some nice char in places. The vodka sauce was also really good and different from the tomato sauce of the more traditional pie. All-in-all a very solid pizza spot. read more

Called ahead for a work group of 11 on 11/30. They had a table set for us upon arrival. We were served fresh hot Italian bread. The waitresses were so very friendly!! The entire staff was. Greeted us with a smile and told us thank you for coming upon leaving. I got a cheese calzone. It was huge. Wow. Had a family luncheon and we ordered meals to go. Forgot how good Italian food is in the northeast US, especially NJ and NY. This place is definitely a local joint where the neighborhood residents know quality cuisine. The place was packed with people waiting for to go orders but the line moved fast (as did the staff!!!). We ordered eggplant rollatini , assorted pastas, pizza, etc. everything was 5+stars! The sauce was simply AMAZING! I've lived in and/or visited 45/50 states and nowhere can you find sauce this good! Not a bad pizza spot for some specialty slices but it is pretty pricey. I believe it's $5 to $6 per slice. There's also a 3% charge if you use a credit card but luckily, I had cash that day. I had a vodka grandma slice and a grandpa (?) slice. Both were good but I don't think I can justify paying that much for a slice on a regular basis. read more

Bergen County's Hidden Gem Colder weather had me craving pasta. Hasbrouck Heights Pizza has filled that craving. I remembered my flight crew, and the FBO at Teterboro orders from this restaurant all the time. So I figured if it's good enough for the flight crew, it must be amazingly good. The food is beyond exceptional. Have not had stuffed shells this amazing in years. They put the perfect amount of mozzarella on top of the stuffed shells, the sauce is very good, I did notice the sauce has a high content of salt. Other than that the food is perfection. This is comfort food at its finest! Not sure if they put crack in my stuffed shells parmigiana but I have been ordering every day for the past 3 nights in addition to their garlic knots which are absolutely incredible. The bread that comes with the order is incredible, this is not your average roll that you get at pizzerias. Trust me you will not be disappointed. Ordered margherita and french fries, and was quite surprised by the amount of fries and the thickness of them. It was even a lot for 2 people to finish. We came upon this Pizzeria on a recommendation being that we were in the area for my son's basketball game. When my buddy went, he said it was just the one pizza counter and a table or two. They now have a complete dining area off to the side. Everything was very clean and the service was excellent. The only downfall was that our appetizers came right with our dinner. A little rough being that my son LOVES his Buffalo wings and loves his Buffalo Chicken pizza. So both coming out together was a little bit of a Buffalo Chicken overload. We started with an order of Buffalo wings and an order of Buffalo mozzarella sticks. Don't ask me why, but I thought it was "Buffalo mozzarella" sticks. LOL. It's actually mozzarella sticks tossed in Buffalo sauce. It works!!! It was very good. Plus the wings were excellent. For dinner, I got the chicken parm dinner, my wife got the chicken parm Stromboli and my son got the Buffalo Chicken pizza (ask for the ranch to be put on after it's cooked... PHENOMENAL). The chicken parm dinner was very good. The chicken was fresh and tender and the sauce had a nice tang to it. My wife said the chicken parm Stromboli was excellent and it was MASSIVE. It was easily enough for two meals. Buffalo Chicken pizza has made it to the top of my list. The chicken was nice size chunks and very juicy. Sometimes places dry the chicken out during the cooking process. This was not the case. It's made with a tomato sauce base which worked. Tonight I order chicken saltimbocca which is prosciutto, spinach, mozzarella chicken in a sherry wine sauce. Sounded great and something different especially when you see the pictures on the website. I asked for extra sauce which I'm sure I paid extra for, no big deal, over pasta. There is zero flavor, I don't think any sauce at all and pretty much all spinach. I placed an order of chicken with broccoli and penne in garlic sauce. I specifically asked him if they could cook the chicken in the garlic sauce but they gave me grilled chicken in some sort of vinaigrette mix with pasta and broccoli. I called and they said they would reimburse me a miserable $4 after my whole order is ruined! They could've just been honest and I wouldn't have ordered the food from the restaurant. Pathetic.
