For the beef tongue, they can cut it to whichever thickness you prefer. At first, I didn't know how thick it should be and the cashier busted out a ruler to make sure I would be happy with the cut. They are always so friendly and helpful! If you place your order as a walk in, they have a bench inside for you to wait or to shop around their small selection of hot pot/grilling goods. You can also place an order over the phone for easy pick up.

You go in, pick the raw skewers you want from their huge selection, and they pack everything fresh for you. They've got a wide variety of meats and marinades, so it's easy to mix and match and try different flavors in one meal. Everything looks fresh and well seasoned, and once you get it on the grill it gives you that legit street BBQ skewer feel at home. It's perfect for gatherings or a weekend cookout because all the hard work is already done for you. The only downside is the price. It adds up pretty quickly, especially when you start grabbing multiple skewers because there are so many good options. Definitely more of a special occasion or group meal type of place rather than an everyday buy. Still, for the quality, convenience, and the variety they offer, it's a really fun and unique spot when you're craving skewers and want something different from the usual.

It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.

For the meal, I also made some keto-friendly spaghetti that I tossed in butter, pasta water, and freshly grated Parmesan reggiano. The customer service with Chris was impeccable and they spend the time to answer questions. Honestly, I couldn't be happier.

Shoppers Beware: While this meat market may appeal to some,…read moremy parents shop here often...our experience was very disappointing. We were helped by the same employee many other reviewers have mentioned, and her customer service was rude and unprofessional. Because of this, my family will not be returning. We also noticed several concerning issues, including possible fire hazards, sanitation problems, and accessibility barriers that may not meet ADA standards. We hope the City of Rosemead takes a closer look to ensure the safety of customers. Success here will require a major shift: better treatment of employees and a complete overhaul of the current service standards. As it stands, service seems reserved only for the owners not customers.

I truly hope the woman at the front counter and the owners of this business read this someday,…read morebecause what happens in this store is more than "bad customer service." It is a complete failure of humanity, empathy, and basic respect. Every single time customers walk into this store, they are met with the same cold, dismissive, bitter attitude from the woman working the front. She talks down to people. She ignores questions. She refuses to help. She treats customers the very people keeping this business alive like they are beneath her. The attitude is so nasty and so unnecessary that you walk out feeling smaller than when you walked in. What's even worse is that this behavior doesn't stop with younger customers it is directed at elders, disabled people, and anyone who needs a little extra assistance. I've seen older customers struggle to walk, struggle to use a cart or walker, struggle to simply move through the store because the aisles are so tight that two people cannot even pass each other at the same time. And instead of showing compassion, she tells them, "Go find it yourself." No sympathy. No patience. No basic human kindness. The store itself reflects that same lack of care: * Aisles so cramped it's unsafe, especially for those with disabilities or mobility issues. * Flies around the meat area. * Food-handling that mixes raw meat with cooked foods. * Parking that is chaotic and miserable. * A store layout that makes customers feel unwelcome from the moment they enter. None of these are small issues. They are signs of a place that has stopped caring. And to the woman at the front: if you ever come across this review, I hope you truly take a moment to reflect. Look at the way you speak to people. Look at the way you dismiss elders and those who are struggling. Look at the way your attitude makes people feel unwanted, unwelcome, and disrespected. This review is not written out of anger it is written so that maybe, just maybe, you will take a step back and realize that the world does not revolve around you. Customer service is not about being perfect, but it IS about treating people with dignity, decency, and empathy. Those cost you nothing. Right now, every corner of this store from the cramped aisles to the cold attitude at the front shows a complete lack of compassion. If zero stars were an option, this place would get exactly that. Not because people expect perfection, but because customers deserve at least a little humanity.

Miao Sun isn't one of those flashy modern markets, it's the kind of place people recommend because the quality is consistently amazing and the owner genuinely cares. & the owner is the sweetest uncle ever! He's attentive, warm, remembers preferences, gives great recommendations, and somehow always steers me toward something good. I usually ask for fattier cuts of meat and he NEVER misses. The quality of the sliced meats here is honestly better and fresher than what I've gotten from a lot of larger Asian markets in SGV, and the pricing is better too. This is basically my one-stop shop for hot pot night. Frozen sliced meats, fish balls, condiments & sauces, noodles, etc... the store has pretty much everything you need. The selection is great and it's easy to walk out with your entire spread planned. Also worth mentioning: plenty of parking in the outdoor lot, which makes stocking up way less stressful. What keeps me coming back though isn't just the quality or pricing - it's the service. In an area with endless food options, it's rare to find a place that still feels this personal. You can tell the owner truly cares that you leave happy. One of my favorite hidden gems in SGV and a place I'll keep coming back to forever

The interior is designed like a Japanese train station which made the atmosphere feel immersive and unique compared to other AYCE BBQ spots. My friend and I went with the Supreme menu so we could try some of their premium and limited items. The standout for me was definitely the A5 Wagyu shabu shabu prepared tableside by our server. The marbling on the beef was beautiful and it cooked in seconds. They served it over rice with egg and it completely melted in your mouth. Another thing I liked was the variety of specialty salts they offer for dipping sauces. The garlic salt was easily my favorite and paired really well with the meats. For appetizers we tried the calamari, veggies, sushi, and hand rolls. The salmon was fresh and thick cut, and the crispy nori on the hand rolls added a nice texture. Surprisingly, the spicy tonkotsu ramen was also really solid. The broth had good flavor, noodles were firm, and the smaller portion size made it easy to enjoy alongside all the BBQ. Overall the meats were nicely marbled, service was attentive, and the whole experience felt worth it. Definitely a great spot if you're craving quality Japanese BBQ in the SGV area.
