I've been here before but for some reason, the service was terrible this time around. They missed multiple meat orders and sides. The first time it happened, we waited a long time since we didn't want to double order. When we finally ordered again, we were still missing some of the meat. And this is all ordered through an iPad so I'm not sure how they're missing it. We also ordered salad with the first round and it didn't come until 25 minutes into our meal. For a party of 2, we were there for an hour (time limit is 70min) and only had 4-5 meat plates total and their portions were small. Overall, disappointed by this experience which is sad because the meat is not bad, but the whole dinner was spent waiting on meat and sides to arrive and reordering items that you've been waiting for.

Hibiki BBQ rocks! My husband and I took four (4) of my son's friends to this place for his birthday, and we had the BEST Wagyu beef ever. Overall, the food entrées were sizable. After 20-25 minutes, I -- personally -- could not eat anymore. The service was great, and the ambiance did not disappoint... the interior look of "eating in a Japanese train station" was kitschy, but the staged decor provided very stark, bright lighting and unique Japanese transportation signage. Everything combined provided a truly memorable experience.

So glad I finally got to check out hibiki bbq. This place is all over social media because of the interior, it's supposed to feel like you're back in a Japanese train station. It really does! They have the ichiran logo and also the glico man, tons of small details. We got the supreme ayce. With getting the supreme set you can choose two of the seasoning salts. We went with wasabi and truffle. These seasoning salts really take the flavor profile to the next level. The marbling on the waygu is so good! Meat quality is super high here.

I kept seeing Hibiki BBQ all over my feed, so I finally decided to check it out for myself... and it definitely didn't disappoint. The Japanese train station-inspired interior is unlike anything I've seen before, and the AYCE menu had everything from quality Wagyu to plenty of sides to choose from. The atmosphere alone makes it worth the visit. Keep in mind that AYCE for kids is based on height. I went with the Supreme Tier that included the A5 Wagyu and the Abalone. The food was all so good, my kids kept eating! Bessies the food our server was really nice, she was doing everything herself outside and even cooked some of our meat. Will definitely come back again.

Came here on a Sunday and only waited about 10 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. It was our first time, so the staff explained how everything worked and went over the menu. Ordering was easy, and the food came out pretty quickly. The decor is definitely a highlight. The place is cute, clean, and has great lighting if you like taking photos. I'd give it a 3.5/5 overall. The biggest issue was that there were only two staff members working, and they were constantly running around. They looked overwhelmed, which probably led to a few things being forgotten. Hopefully management can provide more support during busy times. As for the food, it was just okay. The sauces were a little bland and didn't really stand out. I might come back for the atmosphere, but the food alone wouldn't be the reason.

$49.99 Dinner AYCE (turned out to be $80 per person for a group of 10 with very light drinking). Meats were unexpectedly soft and better than expected. Salmon sashimi (large platter), hand rolls, meat slices, fried calamari, fried tofu were decent. Plenty of parking, just go underground. (We didn't need to go higher than their basic menu (premium) to enjoy the place). Meats are super thin so you'll have to be patient if you're focused on grilled vs fried or side items. The pumpkin and corn were sadly tasteless. Ice cream of 3 flavors given at the end. They allow you to bring a birthday cake. Seating in the back can fit a group of 10. But beware, it can get pretty hot. For an ayce, nothing was terrible. Meat slices were better than mediocre. Side dishes are decent, not overly sweet and decent texture. My biggest concern is sanitation. Touching meat plate with meat juices under and around it concerns me. Then figuring out where to place it's within an already crowed table is also concerning. Thank goodness I had a lot of sanitizer gel with me. Pro tip: Make sure you each have a tong. It's difficult to reach meats with the vent in the middle of the grill.

Best place ever. Amazing quality meat and sides!

Five star food and service. Everything was amazing! Loved the sides, different meats, and different salts available. Atmosphere is really cool too! 5/5 spot!

Japan themed restaurant! It gave off such a cool atmosphere with the decor Food was pretty good and definitely enjoyed the meats. We came during an odd time so less staff or they were switching so it wasn't too crowded or noisy They were nice and enjoyed our meal bc we were looking for a place to eat Will be back!

Came here on a weekday for their late night happy hour which was only $29.99 per person. Since the price was pretty affordable I didn't really have a high expectation. You basically just order everything in the tablet they give you so there wasn't really any service provided. I thought there wasn't much good meat options and the meats were on the thicker side. I also didn't like how there were some skins left on some of the spicy radish and some were all peeled and the ramen and grilled sausages were really salty. The cheese curry rice was good but I felt like the portion was too big for AYCE. After eating that, you really don't have the room to try other dishes if your party is small. Their fried tofu and chicken were pretty good though. They were both fried perfectly and the chicken was very juicy. The vent is pretty low so it's kind of hard to see the person across from you so maybe this isn't the best place to catch up with a friend but it does do a good job from preventing you to smell like bbq. The decor here is very nice. I love the vibrant and bright colors.

Overall a good experience at Hibiki BBQ. The parking lot has decent spots with more in the back and the restaurant is clean and decorated nicely. Server was very nice and helped us navigate through the menu with great recommendations. Went with the middle tier AYCE menu and everything came out very swiftly. The quality of meat is amazing and good flavors. I loved the option to choose different flavor salts to pair with the meats. As I tried everything, my favorite is the Wagyu short ribs.

Good spot! Reasonable price! (Please stay that way! Haha!) They were out of an AYCE item or two because we went later in the evening, but the server was super nice and made up for it in good attitude and vibes. Food was tasty and had a good time eating her with some family members.

The meat quality was pretty good. My favorite was the TK92 premium galbi (too bad it's only one order per person)! It came out brown in some parts, but I love that they came out cut into small pieces already. I love bite sizes! I also loved that the beef tongue was sliced sooo thinly. Another thing I thought was fun - they let you play a little game to try to win a free meal. You press a button that starts a timer and then you press it again to stop it when you think it's at 92. I did not win sadly. I'll come back to try it again though! Service was great. They kept asking if we were ready to order more meat. The sauces were good. The side dishes were good. I think the salad could be less sweet. It is only a 90 minute time limit, compared to other places that let you eat for 2 hours. When I was here around 7 pm on a weekday, I was surprised to see more than half of the place empty. But then it filled up around 8-8:30pm. It seems to me that you can avoid a wait by coming early. It's also a good idea to come early because the parking lot gets full.

For every sunrise, there is a sunset. Unfortunately, I think that Ookook is in a sunset right now…read more We haven't visited Ookook for approximately a year or so now, and the previous time we visited we were pleasantly surprised that the food was still so good and tasted great. So since we were finally back in town, we decided to stop in to one of our old favorite haunts. There were definitely some highlights, but there were other issues that made our visit come up extremely short. We were surprised that the Yelp Waitlist indicated that there was only a 5 minute wait time on the Friday before a holiday 3-day weekend. When we arrived, there definitely was no wait and a table was drawn up immediately. After we were sat, we visited the typical sides/veggies/galbi jjim bar. When fishing out the galbi jjim, I noticed that the ribs appeared to be in a very, very oily sauce. The good thing was that at least the meat it still tasted the same. I remember in times past, I used to love their fish cake banchan and would order it several times. This time, however, the fish cake was pretty bland and cut in smaller pieces, which felt very strange to me. Furthermore, the cucumber kimchi tasted sour as opposed to the slight sweetness that I've come to expect after eating at other Korean places. The mash potato was not seasoned either and some of the other banchan from the buffet bar was also just mediocre. This was the first time that we realized that the food had definitely changed at Ookook. Our first round of meat was spicy beef brisket, beef belly, and LA Galbi. The spicy beef brisket was lacking a bit in the spicy sauce and was dry due to not being fatty enough. One of the pieces of the LA galbi was fine, but the other was very fatty. Whoever cut the LA galbi did a mediocre job because small pieces of the rib bone were still stuck in the meat causing an unpleasant eating experience. Even in spite of this, the LA galbi was the best meat of the night. Our second round of meat was the marinated beef chuck, bulgogi, and more LA Galbi. Just like the first round, one of the galbi ribs was much fattier than the other and also had small bones embedded in pieces of the meat. The bulgogi was a little light, but tasted mostly like it did before, so no major complaints here. The marinated beef chuck was an interesting cut since I've never seen it served like that before, but it felt like I was eating an imitation marinated boneless short rib with a much more gamey taste. This was pretty bad. Our third round, was more LA galbi, and spicy beef belly. The ribs were both finally meaty and seemed to be cut well and to give credit the spicy beef belly actually tasted like the marinade of old. The problem is that the food here used to be extraordinary. The banchan was something we kept wanting to eat despite it being a filler. IMO, fillers being bad is indicative of a huge issue with the quality and taste of a buffet as those types of dishes are what you want your customers to focus on eating. Furthermore, the quality of the cuts of meat were some of the best and made it very easy to choose Ookook in SG rather than going all the way to K-town. It is evidently clear that something changed between either the quality of the meat, the management of the restaurant, or something else internally that is affecting the overall quality of the food at the restaurant. As for service, it was nothing short of excellent. Literally 5 stars. The front of the house does great. The wait staff was very attentive, accommodating, and very nice. It was great to see some old faces and it was definitely the best part of the experience. To my favorite waiter/waitress (unnamed in case there's blowback on this review), service has never been an issue and it's always a pleasure for the both of us to see you! Anyway, even though it might be a sunset so far, it doesn't mean that the sun doesn't eventually rise. I sincerely hope that Ookook is able to improve their food so that the quality and attention to taste comes back very soon.
