Tried this hidden gem and let me say it was nothing short of amazing! We started with the margarita flight and I could have drank them several times they were all so god and refreshing. I got steak with veggies and chorizo mashed potatoes can we say my mouth was watering. The side of chimichuri sauce was absolutely chef's kiss. This is now my new go to for Mexican!

Really REALLY good Mexican food at this spot in Gateway Commons. It was packed on a Weds night, always a good sign! Menu is straighforward, all of the usual Mexican fare is listed. Tried the Fajita Quesadilla. A beautiful and well stuffed quesadilla is grilled then quartered for the plate. Served with rice and shredded lettuce, guac, pico and sour cream. The portion is big, it's served piping hot within minutes. Margaritas are cold and well mixed - not too strong, not too weak. Shout out to Luis, who took care of us. He is super-attentive, charming, funny and pleasant and does a great job. As an example - we split our entree... and without being asked he brought an extra plate. This might not seem like a big deal, but somehow this nearly never happens unless we ask. Great work, Luis - thank you! This may well turn out to be our go-to Mexican spot in town. GO! read more

All Mamacitas are not the same! A few weeks ago I reviewed the Mamacitas on Capital Blvd - good food and drink with underwhelming service and atmosphere. So we tried the one in Heritage Commons - COMPLETE GAME CHANGER! The food and drink was even better because the staff was friendly, engaging and efficient - and the decor and ambiance wa-a-aay more pleasing and comfortable. I got the exact same things - margarita, wings, and carne asada burrito - the tastiness and presentation of the margarita made my eyes roll back in ecstasy - and the food was delish. I've seen other Yelper's reviews, mostly positive, and gotta tell ya: GO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF - you won't be disappointed. Friday night special is a house margarita for $9.99. There's a few of these locations around the Raleigh area and each one I've been to is equally as great. This location offers easy parking, great food and a few TV's to watch your favorite sports. The fish tacos were fried and cooked to perfection with large strips of fish served with a tartar sauce and green sauce. This was an enjoyable Friday night meal. read more

We stopped in for a visit while my in laws were visiting. We ordered birria tacos, steak tacos, and steak & shrimp (my husband is low carb). First our birria tacos needed more cilantro and diced red onion instead of pickled onions. It was overall lacking. The steak and shrimp is where the real problem lies. First bite my husband realized the shrimp were RAW. When he brought it to their attention our server took the plate to "remake" them. But they used the same plate and over cooked the bacon around the shrimp. It was then burnt. And we know they used the same ones, because the steak went from medium, to well done. On top of my husband having terrible food, we got charged for the terrible food. I don't mind paying for it, but no manager came by. No one came by a second time. Yes! I recommend this business! Food was so flavorful, I love the vibe inside, pretty and colorful! Drinks were 10/10, presentation was great too! I felt like they gave us our moneys worth. I ordered the ACP and a margarita. It didn't taste like a premix if it was :) I forgot to ask so I can't confirm for sure. Wait was about 20 minutes on a Friday night, plenty busy. Popped in for unplanned takeout and was pleasantly surprised. Birria and chicken burritos were spot on and they also have take out containers that are aluminum for certain items to ensure they stay warm. Points for that! Good kids meal options as well and they were kind enough to serve us chips and salsa while we waited. Nice touch when you're overdue for dinner and grabbing takeout in a rush. Will add this to our rotation when in a crunch! read more

We've eaten here twice and for us is just average. The tacos were rather flavorless as was the birria. We expected much more bold flavors and were left wanting more. The chipotle burrito was okay, wish it had more chipotle peppers flavor. Service was ok but felt like eating in a nothing special place with no real Mexican ambiance. It's an ok Tex-Mex restaurant. Most things are generally typical dishes. They seem more steak/beef oriented and we prefer chicken and pork. So less desirable dishes on the menu for our preferences. Some dishes that other places serve with rice and refried beans, may only include rice here. Not a huge issue. But I find the protein can be a bit light unless ordering extra. The pollo dish I ordered with extra chicken looked more like a normal serving elsewhere. On a positive note, everything tasted good. Only issue was our take order had chicken empanadas and they gave us beef, and the empanada dough was different than we typically got in S FL and with toppings, they were a bit mushy But the chips and salsa was a nice touch that others normally don't include with take out. read more

I absolutely love this restaurant! My husband and I went there the first week they were opened and loved the fajitas for two. They didn't have any alcohol yet because they didn't have their liquor license. However we both agreed that we would return. They also have great coupons in the mailer if you live in Wake Forest. Their margaritas are so delightful and pretty! The staff is very friendly and restaurant is clean. I highly recommend. read more

We have been looking for good Mexican near us in Wake Forest. My wife had casadias and I had a chimichanga. We both really liked our entrees. Our waitress was very attentive and took great care of us throughout our meal. We will definitely be going back. It is also pretty inexpensive compared to other restaurants in the area. Food was great! The place is pretty nice. They have a robot that brings the food out. My wife had a margarita that must have had dry ice in it. It was bubbling and smoking which was pretty cool. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because it was way too hot in there. Not sure if they're having a problem with the AC or not but it had to be 85 degrees in there. These have to be fake reviews. Unless ,I hit this spot at a bad time. The dish I got was from the day before... I have no doubt. The chicken was double cooked, veggies were limp biscuits and no spice. I am well aware of what good Mexican food is being from the southwest but this was not it. Server was OK but pretty basic. Take your order, bring your food and thats it. Never "would you like some more water, how was your meal, would you like hot sauce" and honestly I felt like we were annoying them but just existing. read more

This one is OK, but there are better.
