Chocolate Cube and Italian Cheesecake

Anniversary dinner was by far an experience! We went to Encore Ristorante in Wake Forest. The food was amazing but our waiter Peyton made the evening. He made the evening so special for us and paid attention to every detail. If you find yourself in Wake Forest call, make a reservation and request Peyton... you won't regret it! Peyton, you are our NC Tyler!!

Roll with balsamic reduction in olive oil

Shrimp scampi is spot on. They are real big fresh shrimp, not frozen shrimps. The pasta tastes like home made. This is our favorite dish of all. The rolls are pretty good specially the balsamic reduction mixed in olive oil creates a sweet taste. The mussels are pretty good. They are not overcooked at all. And unlike those in Chinese buffet these mussels have no bad foul smell. The flounder is ok. The butter and white wine sauce does not mix well with the fish at all. It is pretty bland. We expect a stronger flavored sauce to go with the flounder. Rigatoni Bolognese is on the other hand abit salty. The meat however is fresh and tasty. They dont taste like ground beef like any other restaurants. The pasta should be cooked alittle more. Overall we enjoy our meals. The ingredients are like fresh-made not from groceries. The dishes seem to be cooked by real Italian chefs. The service is super.

Our server was great, the place was clean and beautifully decorated. The food was good but a little pricey for what you got. It's a nice meal- but our server made it a great night.

This new Italian restaurant is where Bruno's used to be. In the Wakefield area, by Harris Teeter. It is the new venture by the folks who brought us Northside Bistro, which we all know and love. They are open for lunch and dinner, but you will only find the dinner menu online. I have managed to get my hands on the lunch menu and will post pics of both. Two of us tried this new restaurant for an early Saturday dinner. Service, delightful! John did a great job. We were also checked on by a manager and Chef. Plus food was delivered by others, so this is a team venture. Drink menu is also not online at this time, but I will post pics. We started with a dirty martini with blue cheese olives for Husband (he loved), while I started with a glass of Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay, followed by a red with my entree. Complimentary breads are delicious, and olive oil and balsamic with spices are excellent. We shared a Caesar salad with complimentary added anchovies. Light and tasty with garlic croutons. Anchovies really made it. Loved that they were kind enough to split it for us. Husband chose the vodka rigatoni with added sausage while I had Grandma's Sunday Gravy with handmade pasta. Ironically we both preferred the other's dishes. Red sauce is nice and rich. Heavy on the fresh oregano for the Sunday Gravy and heavy on the vodka for the vodka sauce. Quality all around. Biggest yum of the night one of the best desserts we can remember experiencing...their lemon tart with berry sauce!. Husband's coffee and my Limoncello and Prosecco Float went beautifully with it.

Food was amazing and service was above and beyond! My parents treated my family to dinner there and we were all pleased with our food!

Came here for birthday reservations, visiting for Xtreme Xperience. The menu was fairly limited, had some good food items I was a little surprised by the portion sizes of the pasta (kinda small) it's pretty crowded inside and was a bit loud for this caliber of restaurant. The server was kind and attentive, but I got skipped over during drink orders. Food was good but surprisingly most of it felt it needed a dash of salt. A little on the bland side. Worth checking out but wasn't my favorite

Came here for the first time from a recommendation from a family member and this place did not disappoint. We love farm to table restaurants and even though the ambiance is a cafe the food was so far above what we were expecting. Loved our waitress I want to say her name was Tara or Kara and Will the bartender was phenomenal. Our waitress was absolutely so friendly and made us feel welcome and Will's personality is on point. Loved the watermelon cocktail and lunch flounder mmmmmmm. Hubby got the beet salad and it was awesome. Sad they don't have local draft beer and the bread service could be stepped up just a little with focaccia would push this place over the edge. Totally worth the 45 min drive from Garner. Can't wait to return.

Split Caesar....with complimentary white anchovies. My husband's half did not have those! Hahaha.

First time visiting this wonderful restaurant. They are open for lunch now so since we are primarily lunch people we thought we would check it out. Extremely happy we did! We were immediately greeted with warm smiles and happy faces! Great beginning that continued with attentive service and delicious food! We began our adventure with a Louis Jadot Chardonnay and a Red Oak. Moved on to the Grilled Octopus and Crispy Artichoke Hearts! Next was a Caesar Salad that I bravely ordered with the complimentary White Anchovies! Final course was Eggplant Parmigiana with spaghetti and Shrimp Scampi served on Tuxedo pasta! We will certainly be back!

After running errands, we drove just six minutes to El Chapin, a Guatemalan restaurant. Forget Tex-Mex--this is a completely different Latin cuisine experience. The two of us spent $76 (including tax and tip), but we intentionally ordered extra to take home leftovers. Parking was easy, right out front, and the restaurant itself is spacious. Since we arrived just a few minutes after opening, we had the place to ourselves at first and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and very helpful--the server even suggested we might have ordered too much food (he was right, but we didn't mind!). Here's what we tried: Plato Chorizo y Longaniza - a sausage platter with salad, rice, refried black beans, and two delicious housemade corn tortillas. Pollo Adobado - marinated chicken with rice, salad, refried black beans and two housemade corn tortillas . Ceviche de Camarón - fresh and tangy, though light on shrimp, which tasted a bit tough Fried Plantains - perfectly done, sweet, and satisfying. Plus, I had an unsweetened iced tea with lemon. The highlights for me were the flavorful rice (with vegetables mixed in, including carrots and squash), the marinated chicken, and the sausages. The plantains were also excellent. The ceviche had great flavor but could've used more shrimp. The only miss for me was the salad--generous in portion but iceberg-based, so a bit bland. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, not heavy or greasy, and we left with enough for another one or two meals. We'll definitely be back.

Really REALLY good Mexican food at this spot in Gateway Commons. It was packed on a Weds night,…read morealways a good sign! Menu is straighforward, all of the usual Mexican fare is listed. Tried the Fajita Quesadilla. A beautiful and well stuffed quesadilla is grilled then quartered for the plate. Served with rice and shredded lettuce, guac, pico and sour cream. The portion is big, it's served piping hot within minutes. Margaritas are cold and well mixed - not too strong, not too weak. Shout out to Luis, who took care of us. He is super-attentive, charming, funny and pleasant and does a great job. As an example - we split our entree... and without being asked he brought an extra plate. This might not seem like a big deal, but somehow this nearly never happens unless we ask. Great work, Luis - thank you! This may well turn out to be our go-to Mexican spot in town. GO!

So we tried the one in Heritage Commons - COMPLETE GAME CHANGER! The food and drink was even better because the staff was friendly, engaging and efficient - and the decor and ambiance wa-a-aay more pleasing and comfortable. I got the exact same things - margarita, wings, and carne asada burrito - the tastiness and presentation of the margarita made my eyes roll back in ecstasy - and the food was delish. I've seen other Yelper's reviews, mostly positive, and gotta tell ya: GO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF - you won't be disappointed. Very affordable, relaxing and unpretentious - the robot server was a nice surprise and perfect accent. GO. SOON.

It was a bittersweet moment and I'm glad we chose Cape Fear. Kelly was our waitress and she was outstanding, truly making my last meal at Cape Fear a special one (being that they're a very small chain in NC, I'm unsure if I'll ever be back). The drinks were constantly filled and her service was one of the best I have ever had at any restaurant. I ordered a bunch of food, knowing it would be my last time ever having their risotto, clam chowder, and hushpuppies, along with their delicious fried seafood platter. I had told Kelly I was moving so she made it a spectacular visit and went above and beyond. I will miss Cape Fear. It reminds me of The Hamptons. It's casual but classy. We got seated promptly and had the pleasure of being served by Shannon. Shannon was humorous, kind and explained the menu very thoroughly so that we understood. In addition, he asked us what brought us to Amalia's and catered to our occasion. While we were in town for a wedding, we also were celebrating some home wins as well which Shannon took note of and gave us complimentary drinks at the end of our evening which was so kind. We started our evening off with some NA mocktails made in house which resembled a mojito. There were fresh strawberries and a lime wedge on top of the cup. I appreciated that this drink wasn't overly sugary and was the perfect blend of refreshing we needed especially after a flight. From there, we got complimentary house bread which was outstanding as it contained oil and onions baked in. Delicious! Shannon explained the menu was tapas style or small plate. We lead with the zucchini appetizer which had pistachios on top and were given suggestions on how to eat it. We went with the sushi method and ended up rolling the thinly sliced zucchini with a fork and it was perfect!! A very fun experience and such a unique menu option. For our main dishes, my husband has the steak and mashed potato special while I had the truffle cavatelli with sausage. Both items were out of this word and the perfect portion size. Shannon knew we loved the bread and brought us more to our table even though I'm fairly certain that is supposed to be for the beginning of the coursing. While our bellies were too stuffed for dessert right then and there, we did get cannolis to go and they are currently up in our fridge. We look forward to trying! We were able to see the other patrons order dinner in house and the entire layout is a production. If you have the chance and room for dessert, I highly recommend because the staff prepares it for you at your table. In addition, there are lovely coffee pairings with each dessert as an option as well. **Note: Amalia's does not carry red sauce. Many of the pastas are white sauce by design. This was not a deal breaker for us but it might be for someone else. Thank you, Amalia's! You were exactly the Italian cuisine we craved!
