First time here. Parking and seating is limited but customer service is good. I sampled a few things. The pork, rice, & beans were flavorful and tasty. I also enjoyed the California burrito. The steak was well seasoned. The Cubano sandwich was flavorful, but I would definitely ask for less mustard. It overpowered the taste of my sandwich.

Mamacitas is a hidden gem! Situated in what looks like a small converted house, some yummy eats are found inside. Parking is limited, though I noticed some Customers using a neighboring business's parking lot. Not sure how they feel about that. Once inside, I was immediately greeted. The woman at the counter was quick to point out the standard menu as well as the day's specials. From the standard menu, both the beef as well as chicken empanadas were tasty and were served piping hot. Both were stuffed to the brim; no skimping here! Unlike empanadas I've had elsewhere, the shells were quite crunchy. Both appeared to be deep fried (vs baked). The Maduros were firm and sweet, making for a delicious appetizer, side or dessert. From the "specials" menu, the Birria Tacos were just as good. Once again, the tacos had plenty of filling, so you won't walk away hungry. The Yellow Rice and Beans rounded out the meal with a flavorful starch. Given the fast, friendly service and yummy food, I can't wait to visit again!

If you're a fan of the hole-in-the-wall vibe with killer eats, Mamacita's should be on your list! The owner was so helpful, explaining the ingredients for each dish and allowed a substitution for my dining partner. I ordered the California burrito with fish. The seasoned fries complemented the fish perfectly. My dining partner ordered the three cheesy chicken tacos. Food was delicious, and worth the drive. I'll be back for their Birria Thursdays!

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Service was fast and friendly. Wasn't sure what to try so I went with one of the specials of the day. The picture does not do them any justice. They were really good. Tons of flavor and fresh tasting. I saw a bunch of other dishes when I was there and everything looked good. I will be back again.

How could anyone not love Mamacita's Puerto Rican Kitchen?? I know I most certainly do! Mamacita's is a small & cozy restaurant, It's more of a grab & go spot. However, they do have a few tables for those who may choose to dine in. The service is always spectacular! The owner and her staff are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Everyone is very helpful & kind. Now, on to the food! AMAZING, and I truly do mean it's AMAZING! The flavor profiles that she creates leave you wanting more & more. I honestly have no clue how I haven't made my way through their entire menu (but I can assure you I am well on my way, lol) it's just that good. Definitely stop in and support. You won't be disappointed.

Just two years after rolling down Central New York streets in her Mamacitas food truck, Sara Rius made the leap to opening a new standalone restaurant in North Syracuse and finding herself busier than ever creating what she calls authentic Puerto Rican food "with a gringa twist." Rius learned how to cook Puerto Rican food from her mother-in-law. Rius' love for making Puerto Rican food continued to grow and it became her niche, she said. Predominantly she makes traditional Puerto Rican food, but she does like to put her own spin on dishes. I've been scoping this place out for months. I love ethnic foods, so Mamacitas was on my list as soon as I heard, but the hours kept me from going. I finally got the chance to try it this week and was not disappointed. Small place, couple tables inside, small parking lot, nothing fancy. But the employees were extremely friendly and personable, and of course the food was as delicious as I expected it to be. I ordered a combo plate with yellow rice and pernil pork and a side of sweet fried plantains. Everything was ready quick, hot and fresh and delicious. Plantains were amazing, rice was cooked perfectly and had a great garlicky flavor and the pork was tender, fall apart, moist perfection. $17 for everything and it was a TON of food that fed me more than once. Absolutely recommend going, I'll be going back myself.

This is one of my favorite local spots. The service is always friendly and welcoming. They will definitely remember you if you are a regular. It is a small quaint spot but there are some tables and nice decor if you plan to stay and eat. In warmer months there is also a couple tables outside. The food is always amazing. With different daily specials and a regular daily menu you can't go wrong with anything you order. I have tried much of the menu and enjoy that there are still new things for me to try and my beloved favorites.

I finally got to Mamacitas today after promising myself I would one day stop for lunch. Today was the perfect day, after all it is Birria taco Thursday. I don't often come out this way, but I had just left my dentist office and he pointed out this special day for Mamacitas. This is a small establishment meant for take out, though there is a table. The counter woman was welcoming and knew many of the customers waiting for food, or who had just come in. Great vibe! It was difficult to choose what to order. I was drawn to the mofungo, but instead went with the Birria tacos with a side of coconut rice...sublime. The tacos came with a generous container of sauce and the flavors are magical. There was enough to share with my husband. (Though I gave him only one taco and ate two myself). Next time, I will order for dinner and get the mofungo. No photo..ate it up quickly! Some of the most delicious food in Syracuse. Love the Birria, pernil, and arroz con gandules. Everything else I've tried has been delicious as well. Can be a bit heavy in the salt but everyone has their preferences when it comes to salt level. Highly highly recommend. The owner and their staff clearly care about the customer.

I accidentally pulled into the parking lot next door -- the sign was kinda hard to read from the road, but now you know!

Friendly staff, tasty food, pleasant (but small!) dining room. Mamacita's is open limited hours, because they're out in their food truck in the evenings, so if, like me, you have had a hard time getting there when they're open, look up the food truck. (And be sure to check their hours on-line before you go, as they seem to change now and again!) The staff was super-helpful, and super high-energy, and full of suggestions for what to order. Afterwards, they escorted me through the kitchen to the restroom, and even the kitchen staff was enthusiastic and friendly! The Cubano was super-tasty. As a sometime Florida-boy, I am used to Cuban sandwiches having a bit more ham taste than roasted pork taste (there are usually at least two kinds of meat in there), but this was the opposite, and it really worked. There was plenty of mustard (so much that I wound up wearing some of it while eating in the car, but it didn't overwhelm the flavor), pickles, and all the stuff I'd expect. I got an empanada for later, and the staff suggested I use an air fryer to heat it up at home so it didn't get soggy. When I finally got to it seven hours later, it was still pretty good (which is impressive). It had a nice thick crust with good flavor (it tasted of bread rather than just oil), and was totally stuffed with beef. I'll definitely be back!

Finally got to their restaurant! I have always loved their food and have followed their food truck. Service was quick and they are so nice. I got a beef empanada that was filled with lots of beef and I love the addition of the green olives, so much flavor. The chicken guisado (?) / stew, is so delicious and such a comfort food,

Berria Taco was amazing. They had other great choices available as well. Place was busy, parking is private off street. Staff is friendly, just realize that they get busy but handle everyone well. They are organized. Just be patient. Back history. Came across their food truck and their food was so good I have been trying to try their brick and mortar restaurant just a delicious if not better, if that is possible. Highly recommended this is a must try.

This place has some of the absolute best empanadas I've ever had. Beef or chicken, both are delicious. They're large and honestly could be a meal by themselves. Fresh made, tender juicy meat inside, perfectly crisp, flaky, tender dough outside. Like a good amount of other city Spanish eateries, they serve mostly combo plates, where you get a choice of rice, beans and a meat. The chicken stew and fried pork are delicious. The rice and beans are a tad bland, but nothing some Cholulas doesn't fix. Their sweet fried plantains are delicious too. Cheap prices. You can get a medium or large combo plate and the way they load you up on food, a medium will probably last you two meals. Two medium combos, 4 empanadas and an order of plantains cost me just $30 today and the wife and I will get at least 2 meals each out of it. I lived around the corner from the building Jandy is in for the first 21 years of my life. It's in a rough neighborhood for sure, which I feel probably may turn off people not from the city to stopping in, but anytime I've been in, the people who work there and patrons have been nothing but friendly, so I recommend everyone give them a try if in the neighborhood.

Mamia's Island is a serve-you-at-the-counter type restaurant, with a small dine-in area with about 5 tables, but you absolutely don't want to skip trying this place out. My wife and I were on our way to Rochester on a day off, and had plans to grab lunch at a different restaurant there. My wife happened to spot Mamia's as we passed by on Rt 104 and we decided to turn around and give them a try instead, and we were very glad we did. This place was way more our speed. We love ethnic foods, and we pulled in right as they were opening and the small parking lot was already full - good sign. We went in and placed our order - we got a "medium" 2-meat plate with yellow rice, albondingas & pernil, along with 2 empanadas (1 beef, 1 chicken) and an order of mixed (yuca & plantain) tostones. Everything was delicious. The only complaint we had was we did end up getting a lot of connective tissue in our pernil, but other than that, everything was amazing. We did wish the tostones were served with some kind of dipping sauce, but fresh, they honestly didn't need anything. They were seasoned and salted perfectly, the empanadas were amazing, and it was enough food to feed us twice. The total was around $30. We'll be making the half hour drive to get food regularly.
