Street tacos with side of rice and beans

Fast and friendly service with great food. The restaurant is well maintained with traditional colorful decor. Margarita and Michelada were delicious, street tacos were great, meat is nice and tender and very flavorful. The red salsa has the perfect spice to compliment the tacos, great spot!

Was in the town of Liverpool, in Upstate New York and decided to stop by here to get something to go. I ordered a shrimp taco salad with a side of rice, so why did, when we got back to the hotel room, I had a side of fries instead of rice?? It was too late to go back, they obviously wasn't listening too well that day or something. The shrimp taco salad was decent, but the mess up on the rice was a real disappointment. The inside of the restaurant looked really nice, and their wasn't too many people there either. And yes, I understand mistakes happen sometimes. Oh well!!

We found this place online as we were in the area. I knew it would be a hit as soon as I parked as there were a few cars, and people inside, even at 2pm. We were sat down promptly and given menus, water and salsa in a cute carafe with 2 separate bowls (I've never seen that before). They had a vast menu with a majority of Mexican food. I ordered my standard of a hard shell taco & chicken enchilada. The food was a 4/5 as the hard shell taco was a bit stale and looked store-bought but the flavors of the food were great! The decor was amazing! Each booth and chair had amazing carved decor.

Much better than the last time I was here. The guacamole azteca was absolutely delicious. It was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of acidity. The burrito verde was very yummy. The pork was a bit salty, but overall great flavor and the sauce was great! The daquiri wasn't great but others raved about their margaritas. Friendly service!

A "medium" margarita and chips. I did not know this was how large a medium would be when I ordered it!

Rio Grande has solid Tex-Mex food. It's the usual menu of lunches, combos, and specialties at a place like this. My regular order of a taco, enchiladas, and rice or beans has been consistent on repeat visits. I was in a celebratory mood on my last visit and ordered a medium margarita, not knowing that meant a two-hands-needed bowl sized "glass", so the margaritas are definitely good bang for your buck. The decor is fun- the restaurant is full of bright, colorful carved wooden chairs and booths. Overall an ok place for what it is.

I went to Rio Grande for the first time a couple days ago and I must say this is the best Mexican food I've had in our area. I've been wanting to try this spot out for years and just never got around to it and I'm kicking myself now for taking so long. Upon entering we were seated immediately and given chips and salsa. The chips were good, warm, perfectly salted and the salsa was delicious. I ordered the pollo asado and asked for green peppers to be added and my husband had steak tacos. My pollo asado was delicious!! Perfectly seasoned chicken, the rice was good, and beans were delicious. Everything tasted very authentic which I love. This will probably be my last time ever ordering a trash can margarita though as this is the 2nd restaurant I've had one at and it just tastes like lime juice and Red Bull. I always have to order an extra shot to faintly taste any tequila. It's huge and got a drink that size and not to feel a slight buzz just isn't for me. Other than that 20s across the board, this is my new favorite Mexican spot!

Solid food, I just wish the portions were a little bigger. If they were, this place would get 5 stars! The pina loca was my favorite, but kind of a small portion for $19. There was only one shrimp in the whole thing. All the dishes were yummy, I just left with space to spare in my stomach which is not usually the case after a Mexican feast. The star of the show was definitely the frozen mango margarita pitcher. AMAZING and tasted sooo fresh and like real fruit, not fake syrup! Good service and very accommodating of our group of 15 :) I don't live near Liverpool, but I would definitely return if I'm ever passing through again!

We ordered from this place for delivery. Great, very authentic Mexican food. We came here from CA & definitely can tell the difference between mainstream Mexican food & authentic. These guys know how to cook. We ordered Chimichangas, Chile Relleno& Pollo Poblano. Most defintely recomend to try.

Hands-down, my absolute favorite Mexican food in the area. A good friend of ours recommended this place a while back and it took us forever to finally try it, but now that we have, we don't want Mexican from any other place. Lol. Every single thing we have tried off the menu has been fantastic. My husband loves the jalapeño poppers and their guacamole is fresh and so amazingly tasty. And if you do get the guacamole, they load you up with chips and salsa as well. Also very very tasty. I have gone with the Arroze Con Pollo as my entrée every single time and I keep meaning to try something different but it's just so good I end up going right back to it. My husband has tried a variety of dishes from burritos to chicken entrées and he raves about every single meal. If you're in the area I could not give this a higher recommendation. You definitely have to try it if you are in the mood for Mexican.

The menu offers a tremendous variety of choices. I decided on the steak tacos, and they were outstanding and packed with flavor and just the right amount of kick. Our waiter (who may have been the manager, Enrique, if I heard correctly) was soft-spoken, friendly, and attentive throughout the entire meal. We never had to wait for anything. He even took care of our to-go boxes and accommodated a last-minute addition to our order without hesitation; thank you for that. Great service like that makes a lasting impression. Also the food came out surprisingly quick; under 10 minutes for sure. Before visiting, all I really knew was that the restaurant had a strong reputation and colorful, authentic décor. I left with a full stomach, a new appreciation for their food, and a clear understanding of why so many people enjoy dining here. We'll definitely be back!

The restaurant serves an Americanized Tex-Mex menu of tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas and quesadillas. The restaurant itself maintains some of the interior features of the former Applebee's that it inhabits, as the main dining space surrounds a sunken bar area with a large rectangular bar. My wife, mother-in-law and I recently dined in while running errands in the area. We went in around 1PM on a Saturday and were sat right away. We liked the way it's been remodeled, it's very nice inside. Our server came over pretty much right away, got us our drinks and chips and salsa. Complimentary chips and salsa were both good. One thing we liked about them was that the menu has different offerings - most Mexican restaurants seems to have the exact same menu, but Adelita's had a couple offerings that I hadn't seen at other restaurants. My wife chose the Adelita's platter as her meal, my MIL went with fajitas and I went with the Pastor Burrito - stuffed with slow cooked pork and pineapple. Our food was brought quickly and was mostly okay - one thing I liked is they offer black beans as a bean option, as I'm not a fan of refried, but their rice had absolutely no flavor - just as bland as could be. The biggest issue I had while there was I went to use the bathroom while I was there. After doing my business, I went to flush with my foot - and as the toilet flushed down, water sprayed everywhere out of the pipe that goes up to the handle. I told an employee about it as I came out, who told me they knew about it and kinda just shrugged it off - but no sign or anything was up to warn anyone about the free shower. Overall, between that and the okay food, we just felt there were better options for Mexican available in the area.

I arrived at 5pm on a Friday evening. After examining the menu it was only a very short wait to order at the counter. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and Mexican platter to go as well as the strawberry berry twist soft serve margarita that is served with a little ducky and a shovel on top! Love it! It seemed more like I was having a soft serve ice cream than a margarita, very sweet but good nonetheless. They do also offer Margarita soft serve flights as well! Fun Mexican themed ambiance, seems like a majority of to go business as it is not a sit down restaurant situation. Food and margarita were ready in a short wait time. Total was $49. I would recommend adding more toppings to the quesadilla for the $15.50 price. The Mexican platter I took to go and after a nearly 40 minute drive was leaking and somewhat liquified. It was still tasty enough. I basically just mixed it all together. I was happy to have made the trip and look forward to trying other flavors of Margaritas and menu items!
