My son and I dined on a Monday just before 5pm. We were greeted and seated immediately by a friendly gentleman. Margaritas on special 4-6. I ordered the traditional, that and tortilla chips and salsa were served promptly. Love the festive Mexican atmosphere, so bright and welcoming. My son had Quesadillas he asked for no vegetables, also came with rice and fresh Guacamole. He had dined once before with his Father and they both loved it! I had enchiladas with guacamole, food fresh and authentic! The margaritas are a refreshing perfect sweet, sour, and salty bitter. I was offered a to go cup they are generous portions. Best Mexican food in Cicero!

    Primo special

Recently tried Rancho Viejo with a small party. We were able to make a reservation for a party of 5 earlier in the day and were sat immediately when we came in. Chips and salsa and waters brought quickly. Lots of choices on the menu, but it's basically the exact same menu you see at every Mexican restaurant - I've yet to find a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have the exact same dishes as everywhere else. Our food was brought quickly and while nothing was bad, no one in our party were blown away either. Everything was very average, from the portions to the flavor. I got the primo special - a burrito filled with chorizo & chicken, my wife got fajitas. One of our party got birria tacos and felt the consome was bland. Our service was not great either. While our food was brought quickly, our server was apathetic and made us feel like we were bothering him. When our dishes were brought out, they were brought out one by one with several minutes in between instead of together, which we just found odd and made for an awkward experience. The restaurant is decorated nicely, there is a small parking lot with easily accessible parking spots. We probably would not return, as we've simply had better food and service at other similar restaurants.

Everything here is delicious, chips are hot and fresh, salsa just the right amount of kick. Service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. The colors are bright and all is clean. We have been twice and will keep coming back!! Last time I had a margarita and it too was tasty.

    Pork Chile Verde

I had three friends tell me I *HAD* to check out Rancho Viejo, and specifically try the pork chile verde. It came up because we were talking about our favorite mexican dishes, and mine happens to be pork chile verde. OK. Finally, I doordashed this allegedly amazing dish. And let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. First of all, it came SO HOT and fresh. It was SO FULL OF FLAVOR, like, had to stop and think about it good. There's a ton of meat and the green sauce is drinkable. Writing this review, I want to go get more right now. So, don't hesitate. Taste. Go.

Great restaurant! The food portions are very large. The menu prices are not low, but also not terribly high, and the portion sizes are great. Our server was awesome and attentive. We went on a Tuesday at 6pm and when asked, they said they had happy hour with $5 off their house margaritas (medium and large). I got a medium house margarita for $7.50 (orig $12.50) and it was much bigger than expected. I couldn't finish it. Each of our meals looks great and were delicious.

Everyone in our group liked our food. The salsa was good, flavorful but not too spicy. The restaurant was cute and our waiter was very attentive. Will be back next time I'm in town!

My mom and I love coming to Rancho Viejo on nights out for dinner! We ordered some super yummy drinks (Margaritas, obviously) and had a delicious dinner. It was a little bit busy, but despite this staff were super friendly and helpful. This place had a classic Mexican-restaurant feel which is fun! I recommend the peanut butter pie for dessert, it's so yummy!

100% would recommend !! Go and give this place a try you won't regret it ! First off the family and others working there are just absolutely amazing . The food was amazing you can taste the love and effort going into the cooking . My family and I came in late to celebrate my sisters birthday , the drinks were made to perfection our waiter Alex was the coolest guy we could have asked for . --We had thought they were open for another hour when really they were getting ready to close . With 45 left they had made us feel in NO rush , they told us several times to take our time and even let us stay past closing so we could finish our meal . 10/10 on Coustmer service they were so beyond nice it made our night and memories that will last forever with our family . Thank you guys again for a great night we will be 100% returning !! Wish I had better pictures to post but we just had such a great time didn't cross my mind much !

Bean Dip, hot salsa, steak fajitas
    Paige W.

Service was excellent. Chips, salsa and hot salsa were great. Bean dip had great flavor-could have been slightly thicker. Chicken taco was outstanding with plenty of flavor. Fajitas and other two tacos needed a little salsa and then they were great as well. I would go back

Very quick and friendly service. Chips and salsa were hard to put down. Quesabirrias was delicious! Margharita flight was a great way to sample different flavors. Kids said tacos were 10/10.

    Fajitas

Absolutely delicious. Salsa had just the perfect amount of kick. Queso was very good as well. Ordered steak & chicken fajitas, yummy. Our server was excellent.

We made reservations and even on a Tuesday night and were promptly seated (whew!). Our waitress was wonderful. Her timing was perfect, and she even kept us updated when there was a slight delay with our food. My filet was nice and thick and very tasty, my wife's salmon was cooked perfectly, and our son really enjoyed his Penne Vodka. We finished things off with the chocolate mousse cake, which was excellent as well. At the end of the evening, the floor manager stopped by to thank us, and his sincerity and graciousness really capped off a great meal. Daniella's has such a quaint, intimate setting with a very professional staff. Charlie really puts out a great product in such a small setting. Knowing him from the old days; and seeing all of his fun Facebook skits promoting Daniella's, I'm glad we finally stopped by to enjoy a meal ourselves. Charlie is one-of-a-kind! A great anniversary dinner and a place we'll be happy to visit again!

I am compelled to leave an honest and disappointing review…read more As with many in the area at graduation, we were looking for a place to have a great meal and we were excited to learn about a steakhouse that was super attentive and provided quality and well cooked meals. We were extra excited by what seemed to be their signature dish, steak and mashed potatoes. Well, we had an 8pm reservation, which to me is normal time, but seems to be like a last seating for this restaurant. The place was full upon entering but emptied out quickly during our meal experience. It was just our immediate family of 4. Started with cocktails and proceeded to order the seafood trio app, which was good. Wedge salad, which was also good. Had a nice waitress who had a good sense of humor. The rest went downhill. We all ordered different types of steaks and 3 of 4 medium rare, one NY Strip medium. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and some other accompanying sauces. All 3 steaks came out in variations of well done - gross! On an even more disappointing note, we were told there is no more mashed potatoes, which is why we chose this place, and then told only 2 baked potatoes, so we had to decide who gets it and who doesn't. A TERRIBLE thing to happen at a steak restaurant, in addition to ruining what seemed to be quality steaks. The Brussel sprouts came out overly well done drenched in their sauce. Bite into any of them and they were totally deflated and not good. We couldn't even eat it. The waitress came back and asked how things were... my wife's fillet was so over cooked the waitress even agreed and offered to remake. By this time it was almost 9:15 and she lost her appetite. The three of us just didn't mention how ours were because it would have just caused chaos that none of us wanted. We NEVER send back food, but in this case, hers was insanely overcooked. We asked to have it removed from the bill, which they did. Regardless, we dropped $430, including a $70 tip (because I am generous... waitress should have done a lot more for us when noticing the quality of what was served to us) for the 4 of us, with only 3 main meals. Just a real poor experience. I'm hoping this was just an isolated happening, but completely upset it happened to us for my daughter's graduation, son's 25th Bday and our 27th Anniversary. All that weekend. Advice to owner: please ensure you have enough product for your reservations. We were not walk-ins. Then, listen to the customer's request for how they prefer their steaks to be cooked and serve as ordered. 8pm reservation should not make a difference from a 6pm. I'm just really disappointed and wish we went to Ts instead, but liked the idea of smaller and more intimate.

When we were seated, we were immediately greeted by our server who was just as friendly and attentive as the bar staff. The menu isn't very big, but what they do have is very good. There was live entertainment which consisted of a gentleman on the electric piano singing songs. His selection of music was a perfect choice for people enjoying their dinner. Nice soft music and we never felt like we had to make an effort to talk over the music. He also had a wonderful voice and took a request from us to play Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World which he absolutely knocked out of the park! The owner stopped by our table a couple of times to check on us and was attentive without being over the top. Upon entering, the restaurant has a very dated, 1970s-style atmosphere. While some may find that nostalgic, it felt more worn than classic. We were seated quickly, which was a good start, but the issues began with the food. The bruschetta was not what we expected--it resembled more of a flatbread pizza than a traditional bruschetta. My wife ordered a butterflied filet cooked medium well with a lobster tail and a Caesar salad (no anchovies). Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked and lacked flavor, and the lobster tail didn't seem particularly fresh. The Caesar salad was average at best. I ordered the prime rib medium, which also missed the mark. The temperature and seasoning were inconsistent, and it didn't have the rich, tender quality you'd expect from a steakhouse with this kind of reputation. Service was acceptable but not memorable--nothing particularly wrong, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, while we were hopeful going in, the quality of the food didn't justify the price. With some improvements to both the menu execution and atmosphere, this could be a much better experience, but as it stands, it was disappointing.

We enjoyed bottles of great red Merlot, which paired perfectly with the meal and added to the overall experience. We started with a Caesar salad that was very fresh and served with anchovies, which in my opinion is what makes a true Caesar and it did not disappoint.
