    Empanadas
    Katie P.

Ruby's is a great little food truck! We tried the empanadas at The Taco & Margarita Festival at the Inner Harbor. The service was fast and very friendly. I loved the little addition of a Colombian flag in the empanadas. The shell was corn which is different than what I have had from other restaurants and I imagine it is more authentic to their specific cuisine. If I remember correctly they had two options - chicken and beef. We tried both and liked them equally! The accompanying sauce was also really flavorful. Because there were so many options I only got to try one menu item but I did follow them on Instagram - where they are very active - and hope to visit them again soon!

A new food truck on the scene. I would follow either their Instagram or Facebook page to see their hours and where they will be. Everyone was super friendly and only being their second day I think they did a good job keeping up with orders since they got a bit of a line right upon opening. I tried a chicharron arepa, which was not at all what I expected. I saw them grill the arepa and added fresh cheese, it even had chicken on it then topped with pork rinds and bacon. I guess I thought it would be pork belly but I was still pleased. Served with a side of slaw that was on the sweeter side. I got an order of empanadas and they let me mix and match flavors. I got the beef/potato and chicken/potato and both were equally delicious. The masa is nice and crispy and thin. It came with a delightful salsa that wasn't spicy but added a nice flavor burst. Lastly, the buñuelos 3 come to an order. They are described as a fried corn/cheese/yuca fritter. These didn't taste bad but are a bit dry so I wish it came with a sauce. I'm just a sauce queen though and like sauce on everything. Kind of remind me of a hush puppy?

This place has some of the absolute best empanadas I've ever had. Beef or chicken, both are delicious. They're large and honestly could be a meal by themselves. Fresh made, tender juicy meat inside, perfectly crisp, flaky, tender dough outside. Like a good amount of other city Spanish eateries, they serve mostly combo plates, where you get a choice of rice, beans and a meat. The chicken stew and fried pork are delicious. The rice and beans are a tad bland, but nothing some Cholulas doesn't fix. Their sweet fried plantains are delicious too. Cheap prices. You can get a medium or large combo plate and the way they load you up on food, a medium will probably last you two meals. Two medium combos, 4 empanadas and an order of plantains cost me just $30 today and the wife and I will get at least 2 meals each out of it. I lived around the corner from the building Jandy is in for the first 21 years of my life. It's in a rough neighborhood for sure, which I feel probably may turn off people not from the city to stopping in, but anytime I've been in, the people who work there and patrons have been nothing but friendly, so I recommend everyone give them a try if in the neighborhood.

Short wait time to order 10-15 minutes and short wait time for pick up. The small lobster roll is up to a whopping $26! It was fresh and packed with buttery lobster. The lobster tots were amazing, with a fair amount of lobster for $22. We shared both. The Brewery had cleared out a bit by the time we received food. Plenty of room at the bar and tables to enjoy our food. Huge improvement on two plus hour wait time last visit. But I think Mother Nature dictates the turn out at these events as well.

The truck opened right on time and it didn't take long to place my order. My order took about 10 minutes, 1 hot Connecticut Lobster Roll and 1 Cold Maine lobster Roll. It was a such a beautiful spring day I decided to open the back of my van and eat in the sun! ( There was no place to eat at this business.) The hot buttery Connecticut roll was tender and delicious, it had a nice amount of lobster meat. The other roll, the cold one had noticably less meat. I was disappointed but it was delicious and next time I'll try something else, people were saying that the lobster tacos and lobster quesadillas were very good too.
