Have always loved Mama's. They end 2018 surpassing themselves. Had Prime Rib with most delectable gravy. My husband had chilean sea bass with clams, mussels and spaghetti with an oreganata sauce he says he will dream about. Add a white chocolate martini, cappuccino and the most heavenly tiramisu and heaven was at our doorstep. We visited often in 2018 and know we will visit more often in 2019. Ouch! I've had to rethink my position on Mama's. I went in tonight for one of my favorite slices. The Shrimp slice. Cream sauce. Delicious shrimp. Great crust. Whenever I decide to come here it's because the food is fairly reliable. Good quality. I've been coming here forever. I always have to ask myself; do you feel rich? The pricing has always been the downside here. Every pizza I've ordered has been 25 bucks lately. Three meatballs in a tiny amount of sauce and mozzarella was twelve bucks a few weeks back. Pretty much double what other places get. Well tonight they broke the camel's back. The single special slice jumped from around five to six seventy five. Check please! I frequent fish markets and other food stores. I haven't seen a 20% increase in supplies. I'm going to boycott this place now. It's insulting. read more

This is my favorite pizza place on Long Island. There is only one other spot in Jericho that I think May inch past it. Otherwise-best slice around. The sauce is delicious and everything else that makes a slice great- their slice has it. The specialty slices are also pretty good and the chicken parm hero and chicken roll. I have eaten in the sit down section as well and I have never been disappointed. The plates are big and the food is fantastic. One of the best lobster bisque I have ever had, was from here. It was a special and I've never had it since that one time. It's usually the same guys behind the pizza counter and they are usually very nice every time I come in. read more

Sorry guess we didn't have the same experience as everyone else. We picked up food one evening. The chicken piccata might as well been cardboard. So over cooked it was inedible. The shrimp risotto was tasteless. There wasn't enough salt to help it. My friends did have a pasta dish liked. The menu is huge mostly reheated I'm guessing. No need to be that big. Went here for a late dinner Tuesday night. There wasn't a wait, which was a nice change. Probably because, it was not pasta night, which I highly recommend! Our waitress was very nice and the restaurant was very clean and modern on the inside since outside seems dated. The garlic knots didn't taste fresh out of the oven like they usually do, which was a bit disappointing because that's one of the main reasons I go here. You're also given a salad with your meal & I personally love their balsamic dressing! We skipped appetizers since the portion sizes at Mama's are HUGE. I opted for the Maine Lobster Rotelli, my boyfriend asked for the Penne Pazzo & my other friend got the lobster ravioli. I always try to order a different entree every time I come to this restaurant, since the selection of food is large, but I don't think I'd order my dish again. My dish was pretty bland and the bacon wasn't crispy and more on the chewy side. I also didn't like the style of pasta in my dish. My boyfriends dish & the lobster ravioli were delicious and worth a try if you intend on going to Mamas. Overall, I'd stick to going to Pasta night Monday's or Chicken night on Thursdays. I live down the street and occasionally stop in for pizza which is fine but the restaurant is way overpriced for mediocre food and subpar service. The crazy thing is that there is often a long line to get a table which leads me to believe that people in the area don't know there are much better options for Italian food. The food here is to die for! Very pricy but the portions are huge and very filling. You're guaranteed to get at least 2 meals out of one entree. I never leave here without leftovers. My go-to dish is the stuffed rigatoni vodka special along with an appetizer of calamari. Absolutely incredible. Their garlic knots are also amazing and never ending! They also have a special menu every weekday. I came here on a monday for their pasta specials. I got a HUGE plate of penne alla vodka which came with a side salad, dessert, and coffee for about $20. So the plan was to come for just pizza but when we arrived there were so many people there I thought they were giving out free dinner so I had to ask what was going on-turns out it was chicken special night! Our waiter was great, very chatty and funny and offered his opinion on the drink special which we both got and it was out of this world! It was half Margarita and half sangria but full amazefest!! It was a large size drink too so one was plenty for me! For the entree I got the fire roasted peppers and chicken and my date got the chicken alla vodka-we did splitsies so I tried both and they were both really good! It also came with your choice of penne or spaghetti. Portions were huge!! I took 3/4 of it home. Also you get a complimentary garlic knot basket for the table which I love to dip in the creamy Italian dressing that comes with the salad. I highly recommend doing that, it is perfection! My only issue was the waitress she took too long for everything. She forgot our straws after taking care of 5tables then we got our straws. Silverware is greasy like drenched in olive oil! $32 for 3 specialty slices and 3 bottled sodas. Cheap plastic won't cut through the slice. I come about twice a year anyway so this just confirmation! Okay, the easy part: food is just great here. I defy you to order off the menu and find a bad meal. Pasta night? Harder. Chicken night? Impossible. Just. Great. Food. So, let's talk about what makes the difference. It says something when the staff of a restaurant are there for extended periods of time. It says they like it there and are well taken care of. That's good. The staff here is really special. You are met (now) by Cali (used to be Kathy) and you feel at home immediately. Then, whether it is Manny or Roberto or Gregory, you know your waiter is a professional who will offer you good advice and excellent service. Thanks to all of them. So lets start off by saying this is easily my favorite place for italian food on the island, the food is amazing and everytime i look at the menu its so hard to choose what i want. So many choices and delicious food. Gnocchi alla mama is crazy good BTW, veal & eggplant tower.. amazing so much more.. One piece of feedback i need to give is the pizza section can be inconsistent, A bunch of times when i order a specialty slice atleast one slice is waaaay under cooked, like the dough is very chewy and raw like they only left it in there for not even a minute..... You pick it up even with two hands everything falls off, this has happened more the once btw. If they can fix these inconsistencies this place would be a GOLD mine.
