Love Italian food. Love this restaurant. We went out for an evening dinner and one of us being in the mood for Italian, we gave this place a shout. Excellent call. It's a white tablecloth restaurant that serves some of the best Italian food I've had. And I've had a lot. The dinner starts with some terrific rolls and oil. Had to ask for some ground pepper and cheese, which they quickly oblige. The arugula salad may be the best arugula salad I have ever had. Large, fresh, the roasted portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers were outstanding, the goat cheese and balsamic dressing were just perfect. I had the eggplant Parmesan. I may have had better, but this one is right up there. The portion size was large, the sauce was outstanding, and I chose the angel hair pasta as my side, and that too was terrific. So, I'm Italian and when I was a child my family always ordered from Iavarone Brothers Deli when we had a party. It was always amazing and a crowd pleaser and know as premium catering. So, I was excited to see this legendary brand open an Italian a restaurant. These are my thoughts........ When you walk in you're greeted by impeccably dressed and friendly staff and a beautify thought out restaurant. Check! First, I ordered the calamari with a side of both marinara and fra diavalo sauce. This was where my expectations started slipping. The breading was absolutely bland and added nothing special. The plain marinara you could get from a jar sauce. The fra diavalo sauce was pretty much the marinara with Tabasco stirred in to it. It's not that any of it was horrible, it was just boring. Then what was ordered for dinner was a plate of Penne ala Vodka and a Pizza Margherita. They both had nothing exceptional about them and truthfully were bland and unremarkable. This is a place that you bring people who don't know anything about good Italians food and just want basic flavor. Truthfully, the corner pizzeria has better flavor. I'm used to their marketplaces and tiny cafe. That's why when I walked in here, I was blown away. Open kitchen concept and plenty of seating with tons of windows in an even more open dining area. Vito comes from New Hyde Park to Plainview on Friday and according to the friend I grabbed lunch with, he makes the best pizza. And he did. We got his tricolor pizza which had marinara, vodka and pesto sauces which dressed burrata and pepperonis. Before our pizza we started with Capalleni Cakes and the Apple Gorgonzola salad. Both were incredible. You can tell how fresh their ingredients are. Maybe they came straight from the market. Seated by a window we had the best lunch with the best service. I've lived nearby for many years and ended up attending a work lunch here finally. The interior is very open and well designed. A great visual. Staff are friendly and helpful as you would expect. Lunch service on a Friday was very busy, staff seemed to be stretched a bit tight with it taking longer than I'd appreciate to get service. My order was the capellini cakes to start followed by the shrimp scampi. The cakes were well fried and had a good crisp, being served on a flat dish surrounded by marinara sauce seemed to me a poor choice for execution. You don't serve me mozzarella sticks surrounded by sauce so why do this differently? The flavor is there as well as the crunch but no real chance to dip into the sauce to get the best bite. The shrimp scampi was a decent serving. 4 tail on shrimp is eh ok. For the price I think you could afford a few more. What would have made the dish sing would be a hit of acidity. Even if a lemon wedge was served with the dish to add your own touch would make it enhanced. I thing I was left to wonder was why the tables had no salt and pepper shakers. With relatively slow service having to wait to ask for those before enjoying the dish would create an even greater setback. First time here for lunch with two friends. Nice very large space with both a bar and a counter for pizza service I guess. I and one friend arrived a bit early and we were seated immediately, they have a very extensive drink menu but I thought at $14 the wine by the glass was a bit pricy. We ordered the Zucchini fries as an app and it was both huge & very good, very thin & crispy with both remoulade & marinara for dipping. I had the skirt steakwich, it was ok in that the steak was very tender and cooked as ordered but given it was supposed to have arugula, sauteed onions and mozzarella it was very skimpy on the filling, the bread to filling ratio was off though the bread was tasty. It came with either fries or a salad. One person got the chopped lobster pasta at $42 that is on the menu as a House special and the most expensive pasta item. There were a good amount of both lobster and shrimp, not much spinach but the sauce was tasty if a bit bland. Not worth the price imo The other member of our group got the smoked salmon burger lunch which I didn't taste but she enjoyed, though the menu states it's served with pickled cucumbers but were just pickles chips. This place is in such a great location. Easy to find parking. It is very spacious. Our waitress was very attentive, she made sure we always had what we needed. The zucchini fries were hard to stop eating. Very addictive and crunchy. The Brooklyn Chicken Parm was such a surprise. The flavors were great. My friend's baby shower was at Iavarone Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria located at the Country Pointe Shops in Plainview, NY on Saturday, August 16th at 1:00pm. The Country Pointe Shops is a brand new retail experience with Chase Bank, Starbucks, The Shed Restaurant, and other businesses. There are plenty of spots in the parking lot and even 8 Tesla Superchargers. Iavarone Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria features two unique spaces for events: The Atrium (heated and enclosed year round patio space) and The Landing (elevated indoor space). Our event was at The Landing and another baby shower was taking place in the Atrium . Multiple tables were put together and we were seated close to each other, but people were still able to get around. We were offered bellinis or soft drinks. I had the mango and peach bellini. They were both very good. We started with bread for the table and two Family Style Apps: Fried Calamari and Margherita Pizza. Then, everyone got a plate of Penne alla Vodka. Next, you were able to choose your own entree. I chose the Chicken Parmigiana. Lastly, there was coffee and cake. All the food was delicious and huge portions. The bread was so fresh and soft. We came here a couple of times and both times were good. The food is really good and the drinks are pretty good too. For starters we ordered the wings which we didn't really enjoy. We prefer fried wings and their wings were more baked. The wings were good just not our preference. We also ordered the Capellini Cakes. We've never had these before and while similar to a mozzerella stick, it had a little more kick with the pasta. It was really good but a little too rich to eat too many. I like a crispy calamari and they made it just to my liking. For the entree, I ordered the summer special Chicken Parm which came with vodka sauce and pepperoni. This was really the highlight of my night. I love everything vodka sauce and this was it. The Hubs had the Pappardelle Bolognese and also enjoyed. When we returned another time with the kids, we tried the Margherita Pizzette, super good!, and the kids Mac and Cheese and the Spaghetti and Meatball. Middling at best. Came as a party of 7,,, when main courses arrived the servers only had 6. The waiter didn't even recall what I had ordered that didnt show up. My dish came 15 minutes later, apparently he had forgotten to put the order in. It was the crab stuffed shrimp, whose side veggie was just a bunch of cold shredded carrots. Weak. A few people ordered the other shrimp dish, and the consensus was the canneloni beans ingredient tasted canned. Then we ordered coffees and dessert, and the cappuccinos somehow arrived cold. Came here for dinner last month. Was my first time so I was excited to try. I've always ordered sandwiches and salads from Iavarone on Grand Avenue and loved them so it was nice to have a sit down meal at its sister restaurant. Came with a reservation for dinner on a Saturday. We were a drop early. It took them a little while to sit us. While we were waiting we stopped by the takeout part thats the the left when you come in. Its like a little pizzeria inside the restaurant that makes the pizza and to-go orders. The place is huge. Nice big bar to the right and lots of seating areas. They took us to the back where its usually outdoor seating, but they had it covered so it can serve as an indoor seating in the colder months. It was nice to be able to eat dinner while looking out at the moonlight and rain. Causal vibe with terrible music playing. Had the Moscow Mule which was good. Cant really mess that up. Served it in a proper copper mug. Started off with the Zucchini Fries which were very good, but they were small. Like a matchstick consistency. I'm not used to zucchini fries being like that. They came with the most delicious garlic horseradish aioli. When we finished the fries and the waitress came to take it away, I fought to keep that little dish of aioli at the table to have with my main course! We also has the mini Parma pizza. HAD Parma prosciutto, arugula, shaved grana padano and shredded mozzarella. The crust was light and crispy. Perfect toppings for a solid slice. For my main I had the Executive Burger. It was an artisanal butcher beef blend burger, tomato, arugula, smoked bacon, white cheddar and caramelized onions on a fresh brioche bun. For $23, I expected much more, but it was just basic. Nothing to write home about. Not worth that price if you ask me. The French fries dipped in that garlic horseradish aioli were fabulous! Tried some of the Pumpkin Cheesecake with vanilla ice cream that my brother had for dessert. That was just okay as well, but I'm not a fan of pumpkin foods so maybe thats why. My review is more like 3 and a half stars. My entree for the price just wasn't that great to give it more. The service was good and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered through Chow Now, which is the app that they use from their website, and I went when the app said it would be ready, but they hadn't made it. I told the person at the pickup counter I had ordered a pizza, and she said to me, are you sure you ordered for the right location (I had), without even asking for an order confirmation number. I showed her my phone, and she apologized and offered a slice, but at that point, I just wanted the pizza that I had ordered. In terms of the pizza itself, the undercarriage was a little underdone. It needed another minute or two in the oven. It was ok. The thing is, I don't live on Long Island anymore, so I am not likely to go there again or desire to when I visit. read more

The layout, decor, furnishings and lighting are all lovely. You feel like you are in a nice, upscale yet somewhat casual Italian restaurant. The music for a Monday evening was way too loud and way too high energy for a neighborhood dinner spot. Service was good. The worst part unfortunately was the food. The name "Ivarone" means something on Long Island and that's what they are selling you to get you in the door. In our experience the food quality does not match the name. The food is much better out of the deli case at their supermarkets. As an example, the lemon chicken was a mess: boneless chicken breast in a soggy egg batter smothered in some version of a lemon sauce that they tossed boiled red potatoes and peppers in. Besides the rubber chicken with the soggy batter and boiled potatoes, the dish was under seasoned. They have pizza - probably the move here. Can't recommend this place. read more

I didn't realize Iavarone was a restaurant until my friend mentioned it for a place to meet up for dinner. I always thought it was a supermarket similar to Uncle Giuseppe's. Anyway, I came here on a Friday night with two friends. One of my friends made a 8:15PM reservation. Not sure if a reservation is required as it wasn't that packed when I arrived. There was free parking in front as Iavarone was located in a strip mall. I was seated in the booth right away as one of my friends had already arrived. The interior had high ceilings with beautifully done clean, modern decor. Music was playing at a very reasonable volume so it was easy to have a conversation. Overall, the volume of the restaurant wasn't noisy which I loved. I hate having to yell to have a conversation. Our waiter (sorry, did not catch his name!) was very nice. We had bread at our table which was fresh and fluffy. All three of us ordered the Chopped Lobster Pasta and it did NOT disappoint! It looked like a decent amount with a lot of lobster but we all cleaned our plates! The place closed at 9:30PM but we were having such a good time, we lost track of time and didn't leave until 10PM (but also weren't rushed). We didn't realize until we saw other people leaving haha. I wish Iavarone would close later, especially on a Friday night! In conclusion, I would definitely come back to try other menu items and also highly recommend the Chopped Lobster Pasta! read more

Rolls we're wonderful but no olive oil on the table just standard cold butter. 10 people at a table only one dish of small calamari! that is skimpy! I ordered the branzino, it came cold with an arugula salad and chunks of oranges. where were the tomatoes, olives, something Italian! shaved locatelli? a side dish of mixed veggies, hardly cooked not even salt , olive oil , garlic on it just right out of the boiling water. No one ate them. Mashed potatoes were good. Cocktails were good. If you are considering having an event there seriously make sure you specify everything!! of you won't get it. We came in as a party of 13 for a New Year's Day lunch to celebrate a birthday. The staff was attentive, as usual. We enjoy both this location and the one in New Hyde Park, though this location in Plainview is more spacious and open, making it great for large parties. We ordered several different meals and salads on this and most visits. The consistent winners for our family have been the Avocado and Arugula salads and both the gluten free/cauliflower crust and regular Margarita Rustica Pizettes, which were were gobbled up quickly, and perfect as appetizers for a group or as meals for an individual. The grilled salmon atop any salad is always good, as is the Penne alla Vodka. The Grilled Chicken Broccoli Rabe was a beautifully-presented, fresh and hearty portion of chicken and vegetable paired with a pasta and great for those who are very hungry or would love to take home leftovers. Equally enjoyed amongst the crowd was the Drunken Grilled Cheese, which consisted of a mix of Italian cheeses and a vodka dipping sauce and the Skirt Steakwich, made with grilled skirt steak, arugula, sautéed onions, mozzarella and a horseradish aioli on pizza bread. They had a number of creative Italian cocktails. Nicely presented. Dried orange and lemon slices seemed to be their thing. We had the fried zucchini which were thin shoe strings which presented a lighter feel but you need to grab a pinch at a time to feel satisfied. The baked clams were nice, 8 in each order. I'd prefer a bit more salt and garlic in the breading. My entree was the shrimp Toscana. The shrimp were a bit too charred for me. This may be best as a summer dish. The white beans and spinach on the bottom were a nice consistency and added flavor to the dish. My friends ordered the shrimp parmigiana and the pasta with short rib. We are here for dinner with my family and my mother in law. The restaurant is located in a bid shopping center next to shoprite. We had water at other iavarone Kitchen locations, but not this one. This location is very convenient for us as we love about 5 minutes away. We were able to be seated without a reservation. The restaurant had a high chair for my daughter. The place is beautifully done. We sat in a section kind of close to the bar, but it wasn't overly noisy as the place has high ceilings for the noise to bounce off of. Our waiter was very attentive and we were able to order pretty quickly and not too long of a wait on the food. We started off with a Gorgonzola and walnut salad that was perfectly dressed. Everyone enjoyed it. My daughter ordered pasta with tomato sauce off of the kids menu and loved it. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana and loved it. He even had to take it home because the portion was big. My mom ordered the shrimp scampi linguini and she really enjoyed it. My mother in law had the rigatoni and short ribs. She is Itialian and thought it was made very well. My father had the lobster pasta. Boy, was that yummy. I would go back for it. Mind you if I wanted the same pizza from the counter that is attached to the restaurant that would be probably 1/2 the price. Even the waiter seemed dumbfounded by this. It tasted very fresh. A bottle of Riesling was ordered for $40. Dirty Shirley with cucumber vodka was pretty strong. The entrees were pork chops (came with a delicious maple fig sauce and mashed potatoes, chops were juicy), Brooklyn chicken parm (a special chicken parm that came with pepperoni and vodka pasta), short rib on spinach and mashed potatoes, and the lobster pasta. It was all delicious and well portioned. Dessert was tartufo, crème brûlée, and a brownie with ice cream. It was all very delicious. We were stuffed after we left. We had a 20% discount offer applied and the total came to a little bit more than $300. I think price was fair for the amount of food ordered and the quality. The foccacia and rolls in the bread basket were just what I needed because I was starving. The food came out FAST! The Affogato was excellent. All around, an excellent experience, but not perfect. I would still recommend and return. Please give us a little more pasta, just an amount appropriate for the amount of meat I got. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The manager Melvin was amazing as well as our waiter Hector. We ordered capellini cakes as our apps and everyone enjoyed. Not something I usually order but theirs are insanely good. I ordered penne alla vodka as my entree and it's the best I've ever had. They add the perfect amount of sauce and I appreciate that they don't add prosciutto as I'm vegetarian. Their bread basket was also very good. For dessert, we did rainbow cake which was superb.
