My dad visited Mama's yesterday around noon to afternoon and asked to order from the lunch menu. I was a loyal customer and frequently ate there. They said it was only available as dine-in. He said that if it's policy he'll understand, but that I had a condition that flares up and prevents me from walking at times and I couldn't dine-in so could they make an exception. The man speaking said "That's not my problem." It isn't the rule that bothered me at all. If that's policy, that's understandable. But what he said was wrong and I'm shocked Mama's is allowing such callous people like that to work at their location. If the employee wasn't working there I would remove this review but the fact that someone who can be cruel like that to someone with a medical condition is disturbing. read more

So many positive things to say about Mama's, so I'll start there - The decor is new and modern. I love looking around at all the textures and colors. The food is really good. REALLY, REALLY good. Garlic Knots appear at the table just made and warm. Mama's Peach Sangria is so good, so it's hard to have just one. The flatbread pizza as an appetizer is light, but yummy. Chicken Parm is so tender, you can cut it with your folk. Chicken Madeira is enough for 3 people. My favorite Salad is the Povoratti Salad with grilled shrimp on top. Mama's house salad dressing is super dellsh. Portion sizes for the most part are really generous. On the negative side, there's usually a wait AND they don't take reservations. They will however, serve small slices of different square pizza while you wait. They up charge you for the slightest changes... I dislike feeling nickel and dimed at any establishment.... They do not tell you when you are ordering a refill of your soda, but YOU ARE being charged for each refill. While the busboys are everywhere, The servers seem so rushed the last few visits, hard to get them back to the table....I just feel they need more. While we really enjoy the atmosphere and the food, lately the wait AND the service makes us sometimes go elsewhere. read more

I'm not too sure what's going on lately with Momma's, been going there for many years since they were a tiny little pizza place but now the food is so awful. The quality has gone downhill fast. I ordered pasta Fagiole soup and it was like water with beans and onions. Bread was so awful and pasta meal barely had any sauce on it. Went to dinner here for a friends birthday the other night so had no choice. He picked. As with my last two reviews we had our 2 kids and their 2 kids. Two 4 year olds, a 3 year old, and 1 year old. We were treated like dirt as we asked the hostess for a booth and said we'd wait but she tells us "they want us to sit kids at tables." Never heard of this before, but kids were hungry so whatever. This time though rather then being rushed out we were an afterthought. People that came in after us and ordered after us got served first and were leaving before we got our food. Some of those had the same waitress and 2 of them ordered the same as my wife and I did yet we were told that our orders took longer to cook. It's chicken parm! It doesn't take 45 mins to be ordered then served and when my friends daughter asked about crayons the hostess said "Dear, this isn't Friendly's." Nice to say that to a 3 year old. I have to start by saying that the food is very good here. The customer service sucks. My 1 star review is based on the fact that I feel I was overcharged on an order & they lied about how it happened. During this trying week of social distancing, we decided to support our local restaurants by ordering take out. This was Mamas "Chicken Night". We placed an order for three meals at $19 + tax each. The menu clearly states that the meal is served OVER either penne or spaghetti. When we placed our order they asked what type of pasta. Two penne. One spaghetti. Then they asked if we wanted the sauce that came with the chicken on the pasta. Well, if the dinner comes OVER the pasta why would I want a different sauce? So I naturally said the same sauce. My daughter picked up the order & showed me a receipt stating we were charged an extra $3 per dish for a change of pasta. I called them & said we chose the pasta you told us to. Then they said well you changed the sauce. I said it comes OVER the pasta why would I want different sauce? Then they lied & said I ordered the pasta on the side & that's extra. I stated, respectfully, no, we ordered as shown on the menu. OVER the pastas. She kept insisting that I was wrong & refused to give me a refund. This is no way to treat customers. I will not go back there during this pandemic or most likely ever. read more

This is my second review of this restaurant and this one is worse than the first. We went there last Thursday for my wife's birthday. I started off by ordering a grey goose dirty martini on the rocks, my wife ordered a Malibu bay breeze. The waitress came back with our drinks and mine was straight up, no ice and not dirty. Not happy, but I drank it anyway as not wreck the mood for my wife's celebration. After ordering the appetizers the waitress asked if we wanted another round of drinks, we both said no, but my wife ordered a Sprite. The waitress came back with another Malibu bay breeze!!! Anyway, we split that drink, waited for 10 min for the soda and ordered dinner. I ordered veal salt um baca. The dish came and looked like someone had just thrown 3 pieces of slop on a plate; it was dripping with cheese and uncooked Italian ham on top. The presentation was just as bad as the taste. . It was not prepared with care or pride. The veal was so tough it was like eating a tire!!!!! Absolutely awful. My son and daughter ordered linguini with white clam sauce. It was plain, bland and flavorless. My wife ordered spaghetti with meatballs and it was ok. For desert I ordered a caramel macchiato and a piece of pistachio cheese cake. The coffee drink was cold, light, and awful. The cheese cake was ok. We got the bill, and WOW their prices have gone up, up up!!!! We have ordered from this place sever times. We recently ordered on 6/29 for our anniversary. We each got a pasta dish and a rice ball appetizer. Upon biting into my rice ball there was something hard in there. I took it out of my mouth and observed a very large end of a fingernail. We immediately called the place and took several requests before we could get a manager on the phone. The manager told us we could drive 20 minutes back to the place and he would re-make us the rice balls. We informed him we never wanted to eat at his establishment again and requested a refund and offered to send photos. We provided our credit card number over the phone and we told to call back the following day and speak with Kathy. We called the following day and were told Kathy would be in on Saturday and would call us then. We never heard back from Kathy or the restaurant. Their portions are very large so count on taking something home. They also offer deliciously fresh baked garlic knots at the beginning of your meal. The waiter we had was also great with good energy and knows exactly what to recommend. For a first timer, I ordered the mama combination and my husband ordered the chicken Madeira. The marinara sauce was so good I ate all the garlic knots with it. The lasagna was hearty, breaded veal was tender and went well with the fresh cheese and sauce. I never made it to the eggplant rollatine as you can imagine I filled up on all the garlic knots. My husbands chicken Madeira was nothing short of what you expect. Two giant pieces of tender chicken breast with mash and Madeira wine sauce. Overall this is one of those restaurants that makes trips out to Long Island worth while. read more

I recommend the overstuffed clams for an appetizer and the the shrimp bistro for the entree. For the shrimp bistro, the portion is out of control. Six giant shrimps stuffed with *actual* lobster meat and scallops in a Marsala sauce, with a side salad AND your choice of pasta. It's easily two meals for the price of one... Perfect for leftovers. The garlic knots that they give you upon being seated are also delicious- just an added bonus. Price is good, service is good, food is good... You can't go wrong. read more

Garlic knots and a straightforward salad pave the way for plush entrees with delicate sauces and fine ingredients. Middling coffee accompanies yummy cheesecake. My father used to come here regularly for the weekly chicken special. It's a great deal. Recently I went for the pasta special, and I was impressed. The penne was perfectly al dente, and the sauces are out-of-this-world. I'd give Mama's that fifth star if it improved its salads, wine list, and most urgently, the coffee. To be fair, one can order espresso on the side, and good wines are available. But it's just a mismatch for a place like this, with such amazing entrees, to even bother carrying low-quality coffee. read more

The prices are high, but you are getting quality and quantity all in one. Service is great as well. My wife forgot to order my dinner and I had to wait almost 35 min more during the dinner rush. It was not their fault by any means.
