Food wasn't too shabby and staff was okay too. The service was slow though, very slow and a bit disorganized, and although we made a reservation, we had to wait quite awhile. The food was all around fairly good. Lobster Bisque was worth getting and seasoned well without being too salty, thankfully. Cod and Shrimp Scampi was solid. The crab cakes had too much batter for my taste and although big, kinda started tasting one note and reminded me of stuffing. I regret not going for the fish and chips, but oh well, you win some and you lose some. read more

Beautiful outdoor space . Perfect on a cool summer evening! Food was good. My ahi tuna was good but could have had a little less sauce on it. . There were plenty of bussers who were attentive. The servers however were pretty slow. Seemed like they had enough servers, but it took a long time to order and they seemed overwhelmed. In addition to the seafood, they had a good selection of regular fish: ahi tuna, salmon, cod, Chilean sea bass, fish and chips. They also have a vegetarian menu - upon request. It was our second time here and unfortunately is was a very bad experience. We had a 7:15pm rez Saturday 6/20/26 and did not get seated until 8:15. To make matters worse, we saw the six top that was ready and the hostess just kept walking around for like 20 minutes. After finally being seated, we waited quite a while for someone to come to the table. Ordered a bottle of wine and waited another 20 minutes. And took about an hour to get our main courses. Anchor Down Dockside located in Seaford on the water is a Gem! The menu has a phenomenal list of seafood, delights, and specialty cocktails! Those that don't eat seafood, like myself, there is always a beef, steak, or chicken choice or vegetarian options. We had Reservations and Service was prompt and engaging throughout our stay. While eating outside on the dock by the water, we got to see a family of swans come through the canal as well as some geese with their young ones. They do have a covered area outside for those who want to avoid the sun directly. I am not sure if the experience I had today at anchor down dockside was a one off or not. Unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was below par. After family beach day, my family and I were craving some lobster rolls. We saw a local spot in Seaford that look like they had a beautiful scenery and good food. Once we arrived, we noticed how the restaurant was not busy even for a holiday. We thought we looked out, but it was actually the opposite. we had multiple waiters come and try to help us but only one was actually helpful and even then, she wasn't the best. We had waiters with attitude, lack of drive and extremely long wait times. We were actually told by one of the waiters that our calamari was on the counter waiting to be picked up. EVEN THEN it took another twenty minutes for it to arrive at our table. The calamari tasted like something you would get last minute at jones beach not a restaurant on the water. Only reason this review is two stars and not one is because of the amount of lobster that was on our lobster rolls. Then again, the lobster roll wasn't anything out of this world so was it really worth the two stars? The restaurant seems to care more about it's Instagram page and getting new people to try it out rather than keeping them there. That happened to us and we will not be coming back. read more

Great quiet secluded place on the water. I would come for the atmosphere but the food was good as well. We got the clam chowder which was excellent. We ordered the fish tacos which were good. Wonderful service and amazing portions! Colossal sized plates! Loved the whole setting of this cozy little place. Beautiful outdoor seating with a view of the water and the lovely surrounding homes. The twinkle lights, the cool breeze and fantastic menu made for a some splendid dinner with great friends! We enjoyed some delicious appetizers, the lobster fries- gah gah gah! Super delicious- I loved the cut of the fries- addicting. The calamari was nice. Great golden fried bits of goodness- yum. I ordered the surf and turf and it was such a huge serving- tasty. I tried my friends salmon and it was so flavorful. We all shared bits and bobbles of our meals with each other and we loved it all. We ordered the almond cake and key lime pie for dessert and although they had a nice flavor the KLP was a bit small and deflated. Loved our sunny lunch at Anchor Down Dockside. First the ambiance - it's a lovely patio with lots of sun, view of the boats and a nice breeze. It was a super sunny day, and we could have used a few more shady umbrellas, but we loved dining outside. The food is fantastic. The crab Cakes were delicious and super crabby. The banh mi was not truly a banh mi but it was amazing, I loved the lm rare-ish tuna and the spices. It was delicious even if it was not a real banh mi. It could have used more pickles veggies but the flavor was delicious. The Scottish salmon was yummy as well. The beer/wine/drink selection is decent. Service was very friendly and pleasant but it was super slow and a bit disorganized. We were there during lunch rush so we expected it to be busy. However, we enjoyed relaxing in the sun and didn't mind the wait too much. Definitely will be back for a date night. It must look lovely in the evening. read more

Anchor Down Dockside offers a waterfront dining experience, serving your favorite classic seafood dishes. There are very few restaurants left on Long Island that still provide this unique experience. Fortunately, Anchor Down is still one of them. The food was actually very good! Our table ordered fried calamari, fish and chips, lobster roll, and mussels. However, the reason for the 3-star rating on Yelp is primarily due to the poor service. Despite having plenty of employees, the restaurant was extremely disorganized. We asked four different employees for assistance and received little to no help. It took an excessive amount of time to get drink refills and our main courses arrived at different times. Luckily, this should be a relatively easy fix for the management at Anchor Down, so I hope they take this review as an opportunity to improve the restaurant. My only other recommendation would be to put out some fly traps since it does get a little buggy around the restaurant at night. I hope to return in the future and hopefully rewrite a review noting the improvements. read more

Everyone I bring here from the city loves this place, which is conveniently close to my boat. I'm a regular in the summer, and the proprietor is a lovely woman. The bartenders are fantastic, and while I've never sat at a table, my interactions with the waitresses have always been pleasant--they're all sweet. The place exudes a charming New England atmosphere. They host a variety of special nights, like Crab Leg Mondays, Lobster Tuesdays, and Clam Bake Wednesdays, which are even better than Taco Tuesdays. My husband and I came here for the first time and were a little concerned as we were the only ones there, but we were quickly proven wrong. I got the cold lobster roll and my husband got the fluke. The lobster roll was one of the best cold rolls I've had in a long time, it is stuffed with lobster and isn't just shredded lobster with a ton of mayo like at a lot of other places. The fluke was great as well. Service was 10/10, all our food came out quickly and the staff were all super friendly. On a beautiful summer afternoon, we were looking for a place to dine on the water. We have our usual haunts, but we were looking for a new place. We decided to try anchor down Dockside. It is a charming atmosphere on the canals in Seaford. We tried the Cajun Main lobster bites. These were delicious fried pieces of lobster with pickles and arugula. This was delicious and different, and I would order these again without hesitating. We ordered the muscles with the Thai coconut curry. They were delicious with a milde spicy flavor. Once again, it was delicious and something I would order again. We also ordered the fish taco platter. This, to me, was a bit forgettable. A Hidden little gem tucked away in a development with water view & outdoor seating. They start you off with homemade bread. The Calamari was fresh & delicious. Was pleasantly surprised with this hidden gem! From the outside, it doesn't look like much but don't be fooled - the food and outdoor area by the water was fantastic. First time at this restaurant thanks to a friend's recommendation and boy it did not disappoint! We sat outside and my husband and I started out with the burrata salad w roasted peaches. The burrata was so fresh and the combination of all the ingredients was truly perfect. I ordered the Connecticut Lobster roll and I have to say it was the best tasting lobster roll I ever had and worth every dollar and very reasonable for $32. I've had lobster roll in at least 15 restaurants on the East coast and this lobster roll knocked out my first choice at Lunch in Amagansett and that's saying a lot. Lastly, my husband ordered the crispy fish tacos. Yummy fresh battered cod w fresh slaw, pickled onions and cilantro. Nice size. Very filling. Well, that was a good seafood dinner! We were looking for outdoor dining to bring some family to a seafood place and this one seemed promising. Thankfully we were under a very sturdy tent because it started to rain once we sat down! The wait staff was super nice and attentive and we were brought a delicious warm basket of rolls and garlic chive butter that was SO GOOD! My little one got a hamburger with fries, which he loved. My hubby got the broiled fisherman's platter, I got the shrimp oreganata. Hubby gobbled down his dish of shrimp, scallops and flounder with zucchini. He opted for the awesome fries instead of roasted potatoes. He just wished it was a bit more food! I thoroughly enjoyed the jumbo shrimp with tasty zoodles. Went with the hubby and my toddler to dine outside and luckily they had some tables available since we did not make a reservation. Staff was all super nice and very accommodating! Menu has a bit of everything, obviously a ton of fresh seafood options but they also had some kid friendly choices for little one as well. My mojito was on point and drinks and food came out very quickly. We had a warm lobster roll, shrimp cocktail, two street corns, and the skirt steak entree.
