Came here on a cool summer Friday night with a group of 10 for dinner and some drinks. No issues getting a table in the covered tent towards the back. That being said, parking around here is generally not great and make sure you look out for a few scattered no parking signs! Wait staff was friendly and very helpful, although a little bit slow to get us our food it seemed. Getting to the food though, we had the soft pretzel, beef nachos, and mozzarella sticks to start. Nothing that would blow your socks off, but good quality bar snacks for sure. As for dinner I had their signature which is LARGE and IN CHARGE while my girlfriend had the all dya egg sandwich, each with a side of fries. I think everything could have used a bit more salt, and that is coming from someone with a salt sensitive pallete, but also shockingly, I think the oddball of the egg sandwich was actually the star of the show, but maybe that is just the Long Islander in me talking. Although I just stuck to tried and true coors light, the cocktails looked good and didn't skimp on the pours, which is always a plus. The real attraction of this place though is the nautical charm right along the canal. Hell, if you have a boat, you can even dock right on the premise and likely have a better shot of finding a spot there than on the street for your car. The vibe was chill with some live music playing too, but not too loud where you wouldn't be able to just chat with friends comfortably. Went to Toomey's for a Sunday lunch. Ordered lunch and waited for over 30 minutes when server came back to apologize that the order was "not placed". After waiting for another 30-45 minutes our food arrived over cooked and not very appealing. Asked for check and was ready to pay but server no where to be found. Finally provide another server with our payment. If you decide to go, great location on the water, good to watch games, cold beers, appetizers may be passable, but don't expect fast service. A nice patron intervened telling him to let me back in since I had just gone out (the place was empty). Came here on a warm summer day. We wanted something on the water. We sat in a covered area. We arrived at 12:00 for lunch, we were seated right away. Our waitress gave us water and we ordered our drinks. About twenty minutes went by and we asked to order two appetizers. The waitress did not check in with us or take our lunch order. We flagged her over once again to place our lunch order. About an hour went by and our lunch was still not served, no refills on drinks or water were given. 2.5 stars - Nice relaxed vibe, great location waterside and friendly service. They used to have lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga, but I didn't see these available today. Unbelievably slow service, and you will wait forever for your food. So, just be prepared for that. We came for Taco Tuesday, and the prices per taco are very fair. You can get chicken, beef, shrimp, or fish (cod). The taco is available in soft flour tortilla or hard corn tortillas. The tacos are just OK, topped with shredded cheddar, iceberg lettuce, tomato, and some sort of chipotle sauce. My husband and I went to toomeys the past 2 fridays. It is so nice on the water and the bands are entertaining. Tonight we ordered 2 buckets of corona. On the menu, it lists buckets $25 for domestic & $30 for imported. On the bill it said 2 buckets= $70. I asked the waitress and she said it is $35 each when there is a band. If that is the case, they should have a different menu they hand out when they have a band or it should be noted that the price goes up. We didn't really need the 2nd bucket. I only had 1 beer from each and we actually had 1 we didn't even touch. I think it will be a while before I return bc being charged more than what is printed on the menu really left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

With Hurricane (pardon me) Tropical Storm Henri about to hit Long Island, we were rather blessed to enjoy some beverages, a little Nosh and live music before it all became a wash out later that evening. The calm before the storm as they say. Loss of a star for two reasons.... A full patio of patrons and only one server( who really did kick it up a notch, never saw her flinch or twitch but that is a faux pas on the management for not staffing accordingly. The other reason was the "baked clams" which I didn't eat because of the bacon, but my friend reported they were a little too full of bread crumbs and not cooked well. However, a fellow seated behind us raved about them and the burgers. So, I shall leave it to you to make your own decision. I had the Bavarian Pretzel and it was HUGE. Could probably feed a small village with it. Came with mustard, melted dipping cheese and chili.... (?) that's a new one. But, if you are a boat owner and want to pull up dockside or a land lover who wants to feel a little tropical for an hour or two, this family friendly, live music boasting joint is for you. A band we follow played here yesterday from 4 through 8 pm, so we thought we'd stop by for dinner, drinks, and great music. Fivestone played excellent music, but we did not have dinner. Why? Because the hostess refused to seat us outdoors near the band because we were too small of a party (2), but she said we could be seated in the enclosed tent in the back, where we could not really hear the band nor dance. We bought some drinks and enjoyed the band but started noticing a couple sitting at Table 21 and not eating, two people being led to Table 24 by the hostess, and another couple just strolling in and seating themselves at Table 29. Meanwhile, we had to stand the entire time. Judging by many of the other comments regarding food and service, we're glad we did not have dinner here that night. My friends and I went to this place on a Sunday afternoon. This was my second time here. The place was packed, but luckily we were able to get a table. We decided to order food and drinks. We ordered wings, nachos, mozzarella sticks, baked clams and steak sandwiches. The food wasn't the greatest and was just mediocre. My friend asked for blue cheese with his wings and when his wings came out they forgot the blue cheese. He had to ask again and waited awhile till he got it. When I ordered my steak sandwich, I asked for sweet potato fries. I instead got regular fries. I told the waitress and she gave me a plate of sweet potato fries on the house. The service in this place was extremely slow that day. My friends and I waited a little over an hour to get our food. When I asked a bus boy about the wait for the food, he said that the kitchen was backed up. Then we waited almost another hour to get the check. My friend had to flag the waitress down just so we could get the bill. Now I totally understand that restaurants (especially this place) get packed over the summer when it's nice out, but then the owner/manager should have enough staff to service everyone within the appropriate time frame. Steak quesadilla tasted like dog food, it was basically the scraps of steak that they don't serve to people inside of it. It was all fatty small mushy pieces. I ate 2 bites to try it and the waitress, Natalie, who also claims she's the manager, tells me it looks like I ate half of it. I honestly was taken back that she needed to challenge me instead of believing me that I said it tasted horrible. Why would I lie? She acted like I ordered it just to send it back. I would've definitely been more understanding if her attitude wasn't literally so rude. Any questions I asked she was so annoyed to answer and she didn't even know the answer to simple questions like is the shrimp frozen, but yet she's "the manager". She huffed and puffed and gave us a nasty look that she had to take it off the bill. Even the clams weren't good or my rocket fuel but I guess it was a lesson learned never to come here again. I moved to Amityville a year ago and received a gift certificate for Toomey's and finally was able to go and use it. I never looked at the gift certificate and when we paid using our gift card we were told it expired 2 months prior. Both the manager and owner refused to allow us to use it. Yes it was expired but only 2 months. I can't believe they would not honor the gift certificate I good faith. Now I will never go back and make sure no I know goes there. The place is a trashy place. I visited to Toomey's for lunch last Saturday. Both me and my friend had the burger.We both thought it was very good made and the fries were too. The ambience is quite nice and it was a perfect August summer day, watching the boats There is plenty of outside seating, a tiki bar and a band. The staff is courteous and helpful.There is ample parking and there is an inside bar and seating. This was my first to this business. Terrible service. I really wanted to like this place but i got one round of drinks and mozzarella sticks in about an hour and a half, after the server initially didn't even know we were her table. Meanwhile, other tables were well taken care of by other servers. I'm a local resident in Amity Harbor. I've been coming here for years... Richie, the owner rocks. Keeps me coming back because he's got the best live entertainment like the band bad sandwich. Now here in the winter time, Brian, in the absence of Richie, runs the place so well that I forget that it's not the warmer months where everybody wants to be here. I love trying new places with my girl so I found this place on google and I'm glad I did. They have live music, indoor and outdoor dining, beautiful views and seats right on the water. My first time going there our servers name was Anne, she's lovely ! Always smiling great recommendations on the and all around a great employee, I've been back several times, I recommend trying the Shrimp quesadilla and for dessert the fried cheese cake.
