We were craving middle eastern food and decided to try a local spot in Camarillo. Greeted by a friendly cashier, Sara, we placed a to go order, which included a chicken kabob wrap, filet mignon kabob plate, chicken kabob plate, and a side of fries (because I can never resist fries). Once the order was placed, our food was ready in about 15 minutes (hot and very fresh). Chicken kabob wrap-Excellent flavor, fresh and light. Definitely 5 stars and would order again. Filet Mignon plate-wasn't the favorite item, but meat was tender. The rice was a bit citrusy, but cooked well. 4 stars and might try falafel plate next time. Chicken kabob plate-tasty and savory. Meat was cooked well. Sides were good. The rice was good, but I have had better Lebanese style rice. The salad is amazingly fresh with herbs and a light dressing. Overall 4 stars. Fries were meh and of course not a showstopper. I wouldn't order them again. They do offer spicy garlic fries that I am sure are good. I absolutely loved the hummus. It was fresh, zesty and just enough oil. I would come back just to buy it. The food was very good, great customer service and easy to place a to go order. Called to place an order. I specifically told the girl taking the order to put the garlic sauce on the side for the chicken kebab wrap. My husband went to pick up the order and there is no garlic sauce on the side and French Fry containers are half full.. First, what kind of wrap is it without the sauce? The funny thing is I called twice and spoke to the same girl who apparently disregarded everything that I said. They don't pay attention to the orders, and $50 worth of food to get less than what we asked for is not worth more than a one star review and mistakes! Don't waste your time or money. I stop by this place to try the chicken Shawarma wrap. The chicken was very flavorful, but little disappointed. I was expecting some kind of a sauce inside. My wife had the lamb plate which came with salad, rice, hummus, and pita bread. The lamb was cooked to perfection and a generous portion as well. I would say it was a good value for the price. Spent nearly 30$ on a chicken kabob plate + tiramisu. The food presentation was great it smelled amazing I was excited to dig in. The chicken was mediocre, the rice was soggy and bland the salad had a dressing that was too tart for my liking. The humus was okay but I think you can get better humus from Luna grill. The pita bread was very disappointing, I am use to it being fluffy and soft fresh baked this bread resembled more a corn tortilla in texture. Tiramisu was dry and the flavor was just not there. I go here occasionally with my coworkers for lunch and even though the food is really good, our orders always get mixed up so we end up taking extra long lunch breaks while our orders are being remade. Maybe we go here on bad days but it always feels like they get overwhelmed with the lunch crowd. The portions here are also on the smaller side. I ordered a vegan kabob, I had a few bites and since there's a long time I don't eat real meat, took some time to me understand that I tasted real meat. I eat beyond everyweek and I'm sure it wasn't a plant based meat. I talked with a lady named SARAH, she was really rude and told me that it was impossible that they made a mistake. I was shocked, because I know the difference of beyond meat. She didn't even apologize, I'm vegan and it's sad that I ate meat due to this restaurant mistake. I usually love Mediterranean food but this isn't it for me. For the quantity and quality of food you get here it isn't that great. I came here on an empty stomach and still only found the food so-so. I ordered using the GrubHub feature on Yelp and it was great! My order was ready when I went to pick it up. We ordered a chicken kabob plate, falafel plate and a falafel sandwich. We also ordered the Spicy Fries. Everything was good. The falafels were nice a crispy which I like. The chicken kabobs were nice a juicy and flavorful. The fries were indeed spicy, so if your spice level is low, I would recommend to stay away from these. I would add one thing, is that when I went to pick up the food, one of the cooks was not wearing his mask and I still feel a little iffy about food service employees not wearing masks while making food. This is a counter service place with a large menu displayed with pictures. Note that there are some items that are not up on that menu that they make, so take a look at the online menu to get a full idea of what's available. Everyone was very friendly there, from ordering to pickup, but at times were distracted with each other and other tasks. I had a great, crispy falafel plate, which came with lettuce, tomatoes, not too spicy hummus that was very smooth and tahini (not too much garlic, great flavor). There were also some pickled things, radishes and something else that were a nice addition to my little sandwiches. The pita/bread was fluffy and good, making a great holder for bites of all the above items like a gyro. I experienced the delicious sanbousik beef (empanadas), spicy garlic fries, and the tri-tip shawerma. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. And I must say, they have the best baklava ever! The pastry just melts in your mouth with the perfect amount of fluffiness and sweetness. The sanbousik had the perfect breading with well-seasoned beef on the inside. The spicy garlic fries were off the chain! They were spicy and flavorful but not overwhelmingly spicy; they had the perfect balance of heat. 1st time at a Mam's Hummus. The restaurant decor is nice, and plenty of TVs to watch while you are waiting for your food. Located in plaza with a movie theater and plenty of other restaurants, at least there is some parking. The service was very nice, plenty of menu options, and the prices are very reasonable but the food was slow to come out and food taste was ok, not great. The Greek salad was ok, but not spectacular. The Cheese Rolls were ok, but not great or worth the $. The Chicken wrap was ok but some kind of sauce inside and it was too much, kind of soggy and same thing with tri-tip wrap. A bit reminiscent of my trip to Lebanon earlier this month, I stopped by this spot craving shawarma. I got the beef sanbousik and the chicken shawarma wrap and both were great. The wrap was full of chicken and delicious pickled veggies. The beef sanbousik was especially good as of fresh out of the oven. The puff pastry surrounding the beef was fluffy and flakey and the beef inside was fantastic as well. The dip provided really pulled it all together. I came at a bit of an odd hour (4:15pm) and the service was incredibly quick! Even at such an odd time, there were two groups and two individuals here. The pita chips stayed crunchy through my meal even though the salad was pre tossed in the dressing. The chicken, unfortunately, was dry and lacking flavor. It didn't taste freshly sliced off the spit, but like it had been spliced some time earlier and sat on the grill to keep warm. Truly disappointed. The Lamb Kabob plate comes with rice, hummus and a Mama's salad. The lamb was over cooked and chewy. The salad again had fresh ingredients, but the standard dressing it comes tossed in was a bit too tart for my husband. We have a place in moorpark we usually like more but after they've literally 'run out of food' 4 times on us now, we would rather stay in town now and not mess with all of that nonsense. This place is 2 minutes away versus 30 (Moorpark). The chicken kabobs are always moist and they flavor it very well. Try the Feta Saubrisk (not spelled right but you'll know what I'm talking about, #26 I believe? Place was hopping when we arrived on a Sunday eve...What a terrific little family owned restaurant! Food is fantastic! It's so nice to have a place like this close by. Orders are placed at the counter and then you can either pick it up when your name is called or if it's not too busy they will bring your order to you. We sat on the front patio to enjoy the warm breeze. The vegetarian plate consisted of two pieces of falafel, tabouleh, baba ganoush, hummos, stuffed grape leaves, pickled turnips, and warm fresh pita. The salads were some of the best I've ever tasted. I would have preferred a baked falafel to a fried one, if I had a choice. My hubby's chicken shawarma plate was amazing as well. Generous portions, moist chicken, rice, salad, hummus, and pita. We chose to split a Greek salad which also had wonderful flavors. It too was huge so we took some home to enjoy the next day.
