    Lamb Gyro and Beef Gyro
    Lou H.

I happened upon this truck in Old Town Camarillo during their Saint Patrick's pub crawl and concerts. I had not had a gyro in many years, it's not something I ever crave, until now. I got one Beef Gyro and one Lamb Gyro, just to try something different. I'm so glad I did because this wasn't just the best gyro I've ever had, this was one of the best foods I've ever had. I was full after just one (as it comes with seasoned fries too), then ate some of the other one and considered buying a third despite not having anymore room. I've never been a fan of lamb, have tried it many ways, and was sure I wasn't going to like the lamb gyro, but it was so tender and flavorful that I think I actually preferred it to the beef. I walked off and started telling random strangers about how good this was, immediately sending pics to friends. I will have to keep my eye out for this truck at future Ventura county events and look forward to my next gyro.

Came across this food truck while I was at work one day. First of all, I was so happy they were open before 4 or 5 PM. They were parked at a brewery so I would've understood if they opened later, it's just always such a bummer when I'm looking for some new lunch spots. The owners of the truck (I'm guessing they owned it at least), a lovely woman taking orders & a gentleman making the food. They were both SO nice, and let me tell you, a smile goes a long way people. They both genuinely looked so happy to be there, which really just brightened my day. This was by far the cleanest food truck I've ever seen. No I didn't actually jump on up there, but from what I could see, it was spotless. Sparkling even. Falafel is such a difficult dish to make right, I often find myself extremely disappointed. I took a chance and I'm SO happy I did! They were super crispy on the outside but light and airy on the inside. Amazing flavor. I also loved the shape!! Like cutie little chickpea donuts Keep in mind this is a Syrian inspired truck, so Middle Eastern flavors, not Mediterranean. I say that because I'm so used to seeing Greek joints cook up falafel. This was different and I really really enjoyed it. Everything from the sides to the sauces were so delicious. Spot on. Can't wait to be back!

I used to go get fresh falafel wrap. That was my favorite. The truck doesn't come to Wells Rd anymore.

Highly recommend. I ordered the gyro that comes in the fluffiest pita. Tzatziki sauce was great too.

This is gyro like I've never tasted. It is somewhat fluffy and very tender and flavorful. The shawarma fries are also delicious.

Unfortunately, the whole restaurant was booked out for a private event the only evening we had available. Thankfully, they were still taking takeout orders. They were a bit busy with the private event, and so they had forgotten to give us one of our bags of food (which we didn't realize was missing until we got back to our hotel), but the staff made up for it by delivering the remainder of our food to us! The food was very tasty and the service was top notch. I would love to return if I'm ever back in Santa Barbara.

The greenery, courtyard setting, and relaxed atmosphere make it an enjoyable place to settle in and enjoy a meal. I ordered the Mashawi Combo, which included lamb, beef, and chicken. All three meats were cooked nicely, with each offering its own distinct flavor and texture. My favorite was the beef because it had a satisfying char. It's a great option if you're having trouble deciding between proteins and want to sample a little bit of everything. What really elevated the meal were the accompanying spreads and sides. The baba ghannouj was smoky and creamy, while the garlic sauce added a rich punch of flavor to the grilled meats. The hummus was smooth, and the tabbouli provided bright, herbaceous contrast that balanced the heavier elements of the meal. One of the highlights for me was the pistachio spread. It was refreshingly different from the usual mezze offerings and paired wonderfully with the warm bread. The addition of pomegranate seeds also brought a burst of sweetness and acidity that made each bit refreshing. The only minor drawback was some confusion regarding my reservation because they couldn't find it even though I called, which created a bit of uncertainty at the start of the evening. Fortunately, the staff handled the situation professionally and remained attentive throughout the meal. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with a chill ambiance.

I did this as a pickup run with the spot right next door, Brot. And honestly... I liked Brot more. This place has always been weird to me because I walk past it almost daily. Sometimes it's kinda busy, and sometimes it's literally just four dudes standing outside smoking cigarettes. There's never really an in-between. They also keep adding more sidewalk tables which makes it feel like they're expecting a crowd that never fully arrives. This is definitely more street-food energy than restaurant energy. You're basically eating with your hands outside on Hollywood Blvd and there's nowhere to wash up beforehand, which honestly matters less if you're doing takeout anyway. I also kinda wonder if the neighboring spots share stuff with each other because some things looked suspiciously similar. The fries looked basically identical between here and Brot, so who knows. That said, the food was still hot by the time I got home, which already puts it above a lot of pickup spots around here. But yeah... overall I still liked Brot more.
