I have been in Redding for a month and a half from Florida and this has been the best place ever. Best pizza. Best wings.

The pizza was good. I got Sicilian and a slice of plain cheese. I always like to get slices with no toppings so I can truly taste the quality of the pizza. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Thus far I tried the pizza, chicken tenders and the California cheeseburger. Everything was amazing ( and I even got the cheeseburger delivered ) STILL it was fresh,hot, just damn good! Will post pics later today. Don't sleep on mama's people! I feel bad for thinking of not even trying this spot due to so close to college.( I thought it would just be a bunch of young kids...bad service, etc) My apologies Mama's. Pretty much our favorite pizza place in the Reading area. They have specialty pizzas like the ones that are stuffed and almost a stromboli - and the normals ones too. The paninis are awesome here. Our family usually orders pizza from Mammas on the weekends,On Friday October 25 , we purchased 2 pizzas large Sicilian pizza with cheese the one looked fine ,but the other was old looking like it sat under lights all day ,the cheese tasted cold and sour, and the pizza was cut uneven and looked liked it seen better days, it s supposed to be made to order fresh but tasted old . People work hard for their money and the last thing customers need is old pizza , with the many food recalls out there . Mama's is a staple here in Berks County. If you are ordering Dominos or Papa John's in the Reading area, you are doing it wrong. I have visited and ordered from many locations but this one is near where I used to work and I have been inside for lunch a handful of times. It is usually pretty crowded during lunchtime and they have fresh slices coming out of the oven all day. My personal favorite pie is the Stuffed Buffalo Chicken, which weighs about 25lbs in total. However, they are always introducing new specials and will always have something new for you to try. Their Boardwalk Pizza and Big Mac Pizza were two of my favorite. PRO TIP: It's hard to eat healthy here but I managed to find an option. Order the Veggie Sandwich with NO BREAD and get them to add chicken then heat it up in the oven for a few minutes. I have gotten this multiple times (no olives or mushrooms) and it is really good. If you live here and have never tried Mama's, you are missing out. Go! Call them now! read more

Today I ordered two pizzas, tuesdays they have specials. I knew the price sounded off and when I was leaving I seen the pick up surcharge. I usually pick up since I'm close, no mention of the fee when I called and nothing on their website. I called the manager said since their vendors are charging them more , they in return have to do this so they don't lose money. I never heard of this before and I'm taking back a little since it wasn't stated ahead of time. I have purchased many meals. This last one is the last one. The meat in the lasagna was rancid. Disgusting. Ruined our whole meal and then some. Utilizing the bathroom more than we care to. I called and spoke with a manager and she informed me that since it was 2 days since I ordered that she could not help me. Everything is always so good; today I was highly disappointed ordered two Italian sandwiches and wings. Wings are awesome as always but the sandwiches lettuce, tomatoes and onions didn't taste crisp and fresh, the meats on it are not really classic Italian meats that go on an Italian. Just opened this location in reading. ordered twice and not pleased. First time stromboli was soggy. 2nd time the meat in the gyro was mushy. litterly like mashed potatoes. Couldn't eat it. I have ordered there multiple times as this restaurant is near by my house. The food is never consistently the same. it's ok at best usually- but because it's so close I continue to give it "one more try" lol. This last time though is definitely THE LAST! I requested a light bake for the two pizzas I orderEd, because if you do not request a light bake it's always overcooked and burned. well the dough was way undercooked-like raw dough-I can't imagine how someone missed that-you could tell by cutting it. This place has the best cheesesteaks in the area. I would rather have one of these cheeseteaks than one in Philly(Geno's, Pat's...). They use great rolls as well, which makes alsmost any sandwich great there. Also, can't forget the Sicilian pizza is one of the best in the area. read more

I usually love their Roman Grinder. Today I ordered the Roman Grinder and fries. When I opened it up, I noticed there was no lettuce, tomato, or onion on the grinder. I thought maybe they changed their recipe so I checked the website and sure enough it says the grinder comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. It's just meat and cheese toasted on a roll. Ordered ahead so I had time to eat during my lunch time. I arrived and gave the name that my order was under. The young lady spent several minutes looking for my food. After the unsuccessful hunt, she informed me that they made a mistake and gave my order to someone else. It would take 10-15 to make my food. So much for ordering ahead. Insisted I wear a mask just to step inside just to pick up my order even when CDC has said masks are useless and VOLUNTARY ! and can cause illness with prolonged use. Then Even after I waited another 15 minutes in the parking lot outside to have the one order remade ( on top of the 30 minutes travel and wait time ) I got a bag full of what looked like it was intentionally SHAKEN UP as a side order. Visited their Rockland Street location yesterday, hoping for a quick slice as I was pressed for time. Ordered their slice/soda special, and was told it be just a few minutes. After getting my drink I waited. After 5 minutes or so I was told that they'd run out of regular slices and were putting a new pie in the oven. Should be ready in 5 minutes they said. Waited for 15 minutes, no pie. First off, if this is your special, why not have pies ready ahead of running out? Second, I should have been offered a different slice at the time, rather than having to wait so long. Had they told me up front they were out, I'd have ordered something else to begin with. Last, when the pizza was ready, they took care of the orders of others who'd come in after me. They served me last. Terrible service in my opinion. The pizza sauce/cheese was okay, nothing special, the crust tasted like cardboard. Wont' be going back, too many other better places in the area. read more

The food is good, nothing exceptional. I do think their salads are one of the better ones for a pizza shop as they use romaine and are always very fresh. Also, they do give you a very big portion with the Chicken Parmesan. I think their food is a bit pricier than some other competitors in the area. Also their staff, as others have mentioned, is not often friendly when you call in. I had an instance where I called on a night where there was a major sports event and was told they were closing early. I found it very hard to believe on a night like this. The delivery charge is a bit high as well. I would recommend take out. read more

Pizza is good...nothing special. Occasionally the crust is undercooked. Mama's has sandwiches, salads and other fast food on it's menu. I prefer pick-up or delivery. The restaurant is shabby and not desirable for dining in. The staff are okay. Mama's is a "pricey" dime-a-dozen pizza joint. read more
