We ordered a special with large pizza, garlic knots and wings for pickup. We arrived 5 minutes before their expected wait time, so everything should have been hot. The pizza box was barely warm, which should have prompted me to look at it before leaving the shop. Upon opening the pizza at home (we only live 2 miles away), the cheese was completely congealed and looked like it had been sitting a while. I'm betting that we got served an older pizza. Stopped in for dinner and was impressed with the friendly staff, quality and value of the food and that this place does a booming eat in and take out business. My cold pasta salad was not bland but actually delicious and spicy that it didn't over power the other components. My turkey panini was a nice size but could have used more turkey and crisper cooked bacon. I still enjoyed it. This is gonna be short and sweet. I ordered a stuffed buffalo chicken slice. I had no idea it was sliced. I had no idea I ordered a slice of happiness. I think I know where I'm going for dinner. Their food is way better than domino's! I could tell the pizza was fresh put of the oven when it was delivered! Which i love when its fresh out the oven. They got my order right and even included my ranch unlike domino's where you order ranch but they don't give it to you and then proceed to say well you didn't order it so we don't give it you when i know i put it in the order. I got to say that every time I order delivery or we stop in here to eat the food is always consistently been good except for one time we ordered and it was a real busy Friday night they were swamped the pizza came late it wasn't fresh but I don't hold that against them, but other than that, Mamas is consistent with food quality, delicious, and fresh. To begin we order very often . And I am very displeased to report to you that these people cannot comprehend how to take or revive orders . Online and call ins. I did online to see if they would Do better reading the order EXACTLY HOW I WROTE IT but to no avail they still messed every single sandwich up . My mom ordered a grilled ham and cheese with toasted bread of course and nothing was toasted . Look can you come back so I can feed you this dog sandwich . Wet, greasy and gross, this is my last choice for pizza or wings in berks county, wings come practically wet like the wings were pulled out of a stock pot literally fully submerged in Buffalo sauce, which might immediately sound like a good thing, but oh no let me tell you, the wings are incredibly wet and greasy, like soaked. 4 stars for food quality; 0 stars for customer service. After spending 45 minutes trying to order online, my husband and I were so frustrated we decided to just call in our order. We had found a pretty good deal online for two sandwiches and a pizza. We were told by the store however, that the deal was only valid online. I explained how the website was down, asking her if it was possible to honor the deal over the phone instead. She said that would not be possible, didn't even bother to check with her manager. I accused that of being slightly ridiculous given that their website doesn't work (this is not the first time I've had an issue with it.) I then explained I would be taking my business elsewhere and she told me to "have a good day."....... There are 100 GREAT pizza/sub shops in the area. If you don't care about customer service I assure you, that's the best way to go out of business. Please reconsider a different ordering website and how you treat a frustrated customer. read more

They get 2 stars for the food tasting great. Unfortunately we will never ever order from here again because we got ill the last time. It was March 2021 and I went to the restaurant and ordered a large Italian hoagie to go. It was the first (and only) food we ate all day. We only had filtered water from our refrigerator with it. Within an hour of eating it, both of us had stomach cramping and diarrhea. This lasted all day and thankfully we recovered by the next morning. They were on-time to-the-minute, gave us fair pricing, and we've received nothing but positive remarks about how good the pizza is. They have hearty toppings and are generous with their portions. We got the wrong order. We then called back & tried explaining the issue to 3 different people. 1 had some serious attitude and claimed she made the sandwich so it cant be wrong. 2 had no idea what was going on, who then transferred us to the 3rd person who said he wanted the sandwich back so they can see for themselves. I was told my order would be credited back to my card but this has not happened. this order was also placed on Slice, so they literally had the correct order in front of them.. in writing. On top of that, that was literally our 5th consecutive order that was incorrect. There is no listing for Mama's new Exeter store, so this review is actually meant for that location. We were super excited for them to open, as we need a good pizza spot in this area. Sadly, we still do. We've now tried this restaurant three times and have been really disappointed. First time we ordered 2 large pizzas, one cheese and one with mushrooms. Both pies had hardly any sauce. They were so skimpy with the mushrooms on the mushroom pizza that not every slice even had a mushroom on it. The mushrooms weren't fresh and had a canned flavor. The second time we were there we ordered sandwiches, a chicken parmesan and a meatball. Both sandwiches were so smothered with cheese that we had to pull half of it off to even taste the meat. The meatballs were good, but you could hardly taste them through the gobs of cheese. They really skimped out on the chicken on the chicken parm sandwich and it, too, was so blobbed up with cheese that the chicken & sauce had no flavor. Our third visit to the restaurant was tonight for dinner. We ordered sausage & mushroom pizza. When we opened the box we (again) were disappointed at how skimpy they were with the toppings. The mushrooms were so few that not every slice had one and we couldn't even see any sausage. I still don't know if there was any on the pizza because we couldn't taste it. And, as with our first pizza, the mushrooms tasted canned. We're so sad, but 3 strikes and you're out, Mama's Exeter. read more

We ordered 3 pizzas: thin crust cheese, half meatball/half olive, half hot peppers/ half tomato and with extra cheese. Pizza itself was fine, nothing special about it however, the meatballs are small and they were light on them. The issue is their service. We ordered over the phone and were told it would be 30-35 minutes. Went to pick it up at the 30 minute mark and we were then told it would be another 15-20 minutes. We made a huge order through slicelife.com for our fantasy football draft a couple months ago. We entered the time that we wanted everything delivered and our doorbell rang a couple of minutes early! I was in the area for business. I was the only one in the building at 2:30 pm. I ordered a cheesesteak with ltm and fries. After 20 minutes of hearing conversation in the back I started to get impatient. I decided to ask the waitress where my food was. She went and asked the guy in the back and he came up saying 2 minutes. They apologized for which they completely forgot my order. I was the only order how can you miss that? This is one of my favorite pizza places in the greater Reading area for a couple reasons. Their food and service are both pretty awesome. I've never gotten something pizza - wise I wasn't satisfied with. Next, their sandwiches. They make something called a Roman grinder.. It's like a baked Italian sandwich. Awesome. You gotta try it. Then their Cajon chicken pasta. Delicious hot or cold. I prefer it cold. Last, their selection. I placed a $50 order with these assholes and part of that order was two orders of jalapeno poppers. They took about an hour to get to my house and I made sure I asked the guy is everything there? He replied yes so I walked into my apartment and opened the bag which only contained 1 order of poppers not 2. This wouldn't have been a big deal to me if they would have made good on it and brought me my other order. I called the delivery driver and he said he was calling the restaurant right now to have them start the second order of poppers then he had 2 more stops to do and he would be on his way. Poor service every time I go long wait times for small portions and food that isn't great

My family and I had pizza here after a Reading Royals game, and it was pretty darn good pizza! A little slow on the service, considering we were the only dine-in customers and they only had one other order, but I'll cut them some slack. The staff was very friendly and it was a very nice, clean restaurant. I've been back since then and I plan on going back more often. read more
