Seafood lovers, rejoice! This place is perfect if you're ballin on a budget. The seafood is fresh and the portions are generous. Not only that, but the servers are very attentive-- not to the point of being annoying but also not nonexistent like other restaurants. My boyfriend and I ordered the #1 from the mambo classics and the mixed grill jumbo shrimp and fish filets. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The seafood was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The shrimp mambo rice was also top notch, to the point where I could eat that as an entree alone and be more than content. I also recommend getting the mangolava, which satisfies any sweet and spicy cravings you may have. This restaurant is always packed and I can see why. I will definitely be returning here in the future. TL;DR: 10/10 highly recommend. Great food, great portions, great service, ample seating for large crowds. read more

I decide on Sunday that I would give Mambo Seafood a try.. I looked at the website and chose what I wanted before arriving so I thought that my experience would be a good one. I was wrong.. I walked in and from the moment I opened the door I felt like I was on display. being stared at by almost everyone Olin the building really made me feel uncomfortable. I asked to be sat outside and from that moment , every time I looked up there was someone staring dead in my face. I got my food and ordered a drink , but before I ordered said drink I specifically asked my waitress if the aqua frescas allowed refills, and she told me yes they did, so I ordered one. Coming to the end of my meal I asked for the ticket and another fresca, and my waitress asked if I wanted to order another one. I paused and told her what she told me about the drink being refillable and she basically said that I was lying to my face and then proceded to make me feel as if I was being difficult for my responses to what she telling me. I asked for the check and told her that I didn't appreciate being lied to and she walked off on me but not before saying " whatever bitch." so I left what I was going to pay and did not pay for the drink and I was the one who got chased down in the parking lot for about five dollars.. I woke up the next morning with a stomach ache and I'm still having a terrible time with my toilet. I went there this past Sunday and it is now Tuesday.. if you get my drift. I will never walk into another mambos seafood and I encourage you all not to spend your money where the staff lies to you to get your money and gaslights you and then proceeds to disrespect you when you won't allow them to get away with the lies they've told. Have been several time to this location, introducing my husband and his family to what I have always known as very good inexpensive seafood. However twice that I've been here we were never greeted and yes I know it's a sit yourself style but once we sat no one made eye contact with us. We waited for 10 mins and I kept looking at the waitresses that were all standing by the cash register. At some point 2 of them made eye contact with me but ignored me. I felt so embarrassed as my husband and his family are European and even though I'm not Mexican, I didn't want them thinking this is how all Hispanic restaurants are. I finally got up and asked if someone would come take out order or we will leave. Who has to do that at a restaurant??? I mean I'm the customer which means I have the money to pay and take my business somewhere else. However it seemed they don't see it like that. Thought I would stop in here to pickup dinner since I pass it everyday going and coming from work. It always looks busy so I thought that was a good sign. When I walked in I told the hostess that I wanted a to-go order and she directed me to the counter. There was a girl at register but she didn't say anything so I just picked up one of the paper menus to look at while I decided. I noticed that the phones started ringing and she was answering, one receiver on this ear, one on that ear. Don't they have a hold button?? Finally another girl came over and told her to give her one of the calls. The new arrival to the counter took my order after the call. She was nice but it seemed like no one else in there gave a damn about me because I wasn't speaking Spanish. Conversations and greetings to other customers were flying all around me. I know, I know, "You don't know Spanish??" Crazy right? About twenty minutes later, I was still waiting on my order and the same young lady that had helped me noticed I was sitting there and went to check on it. She came back with it immediately. As for the food, I ordered the 2pc fish with fries and a regular order of chicken Mambo rice, which is essentially fried rice. All it tasted a bit ho-hum. The rice, that is supposed to be their standout item, was quite bland. It had the potential to be good with a nice amount of chicken and such, but no. Soooo....check that one off the list. The food is not the same as their Hillcroft location at all, as if the cooks were trained differently. I live close to this one and was very excited about it because I thought I would be eating lunch here a lot and that is not the case at all. There's a guy from the kitchen staff who works by the window is only checking out women's behinds every time one passes by to the restroom. The food takes forever to come out and is not good at all. Slow service, average food quality. Came in at 2 PM after the lunch rush, the place was not that busy. Seemed they only had a few waitresses on duty. Food took long to come out. Drink refills never came out despite of asking for one repeatedly. As far as food quality, most of the offering is fried food so not a place for the health conscious. I had such a great time while i was there. The service was great everyone was very kind and friendly. We were such a big party but everything went so smoothly. Place is not bad but it does get packed and it is hard to communicate sometimes. Not everyone speaks english and the ones that do are usually pretty darn busy. I usually get the oysters, fried fish and fried rice here. The place is cheap and good what more can you ask for. This time around they had me try Mambo again and I raised my star by 1, not because the food was particularly amazing.. (that mambo rice though is still delicious)...but because I was impressed by the customer service of the management. Joseph in marketing reached out to me, listened to my concerns and I can see where they've made changes- they've hired more servers, greeters by the door, and Martha the manager told me that because of my review they even have sriracha (the asian inside me is doing the happy dance)!!! -- pretty excited to see this place get better.. Never thought of coming here until I had received a gift card so I thought I might as well stop by for lunch with my husband and son. We ordered the fried fish and shrimp with fried rice and French fries, the only thing good was the fries. The fish and shrimp were bland, rice tasted worse than Timmy Chans. I ordered 2lbs of crawfish, flavor was alright but overpriced for the quality. The garlic isn't even minced, it's like they literally peeled it and threw it in the crawfish. Service was ok, our waitress only came by our table at the beginning, after all of our food came out it was hard to get someone to bring me mayo or butter. Everything was good, except for the fried rice. The rice seemed undercooked or I'm just not used to hard rice. We normally eat rices where they stick to each other, rather then single grain of rice. Every time I eat here the food gets worse. Today I had the number 1 fried. Half the shrimp were tiny and mashed out with a hammer to make them look big. This dried them out when cooking them as they were too thin. The breeding on the fish was like rubber. Every now and then you would take a bite of the fish and pull off half the fillet in your mouth because of this nasty firm breading. This is the first time that I have ever been to a Mambos and not enjoyed the Mambo rice. It tasted like last night's leftovers. I also think the roll I was given had a bite out of it. Let me start off by saying that my husband and our family having been going to eat at Mambos for the longest time. We've NEVER had service this bad. On the 21st of March, my husband and some other family had dinner at this location and the waitress that waited our table was HORRIBLE. Her name was, Diamelis. One of the things that Mambos is known for is their micheladas. So of course, that's what we all had. Our drinks were off. They didn't taste like they normally do and that was disappointing. We ordered shrimp tostadas and when they came out, one was right, one was wrong. My husband then placed my dinner order at which never came. When he asked about my food, the waitress proceeded to ask if we ordered it from her. Well, yeah. Who else would we order it from? The whole time we ordered tons of food and drinks and she proceeded to mess them up every time. Instead of just writing it all down becuz she obviously can't remember anything, she just made stupid faces at us- almost condescending faces. Now, I normally NEVER give a bad review but this waitress was so bad I felt like it needed to be said. We aren't those people who like to fuss about service and normally will just go along with it becuz we're human and make mistakes, but when I say the service was bad, trust me, it was BAD!! From this alone, I'd never go back to this location. When you have patrons spending over $200 on a meal, the least they can get in return is the correct order without excuses. At one point I asked her for limes and those never made it to me either. When my sister in law told her that I couldn't eat my food becuz I never got my limes, her response was, "so do you want them to go?" I mean really? No. That's ok. The time has passed. A lot of people had recommended this place but I'm not sure why. Their service sucks, it took the waitress 15 minutes to bring our drinks. Their horchata was disgusting. My husband ordered the Jamaica drink it was actually grape juice. Took 38 minutes to bring our food the waitress lacks skills. Slow as hell. The food is not worth the price. Their fried rice is not all that have had better in other places. My fish was bland no flavor. They forgot my daughter's fries when reminded the waitress twice. She was lucky I tipped her though I personally thought her service was one of the worst. I wouldn't recommend this place. They have bad service and their food is poor quality. We visited there 1/2 hour before closing and their food was and service was excellent. The grilled veggies, shrimp and fish were the bomb.

I have been to other Mambos locations and this one is the worst one I ever been to. Service is horrible and our waitress Orialis was very rude and didn't get our order right. Seafood was super fresh and cooked perfectly. Spicy michelada just like I like it, and you can buy a bottle of mix to take home. The cocktail and tartar sauces were gross, but you don't need them. Ceviche tostada was outstanding. Servic was excellent, there when you need her, but not hovering or annoying. They have the fish fresh in the case like at a market, so you can see that it is fresh as well as taste it. Almost forgot about the rice, I don't usually like rice, this was like shrimp fried rice, and is awesome. read more

I always get the mango lava and the #1 combo. The food arrived in a timely manner and our drinks were refilled frequently. Seafood was fresh and tasted great fried and the fried rice was so good!
