Flew into the airport and this place was recommended. Got a burger and fries. They were good.

We had the pork tenderloin sandwich. It was the best that I had ever eaten.

Best pork tenderloin sandwich ever. Great service by a friendly young man. Told us all about the school building that the restaurant is in. We also had pie. We had the Buckeye and Butterfinger pie. They were both delicious.

Left home early before breakfast for a crack of dawn meeting in Jackson so I was very pleased to…read moresee a cafe with breakfast getting good ratings on Yelp. Folks weren't lying. The Spot on Main Cafe fits the bill with a terrific warm pretzel breakfast sandwich with a large sausage patty and melted gouda. I'm pretty skeptical of sausage patties as they are typically thin, dry, and hockey puck-like. This one was none of those things. The large latte was robust in size and taste. Tasteful and super clean interior with good but not too loud music. Helpful service advising on choices (the bacon and swiss on a croissant was a close second when deciding what to get). Went for the pretzel which too wasn't the typically dry, hard, experience that requires incisor driven tearing to eat. I include a picture from the bathroom, definitely a first. But hanging on the inside of the door was a Scandinavia style high chair to have kiddos sit when you are otherwise occupied in this spotless bathroom. Two tables out front with shades and other tables around the corner in the back as well. Plenty of space inside but if you want to get outside to enjoy the morning coffee, that's an option. I'll definitely be back next time I have business in Jackson.

We stopped in for an early lunch, which they serve all day. Everything on the menu looked delicious and prices are reasonable. I had a bowl of the chicken and rice soup. The soup was thick and creamy with lots of vegetables and delicious. My husband loved the Club Sandwich which was packed with ham, bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato. Service was a bit confusing as one of the clerks told me to sit down and brought a menu. But she never came back to take our order and we figured out we had to go up to the counter to order. I guess the regulars know this. The place is popular, there's a line to order and most tables full. They have a nice patio out back with tables. Inside, there are about 15 tables. It gets loud inside when they are full. They sell their locally roasted coffee in the shop along with other coffee related gifts. There is street parking out front and a handicapped access at the rear entrance.

My brother in law and I ordered the walleye. The presentation on the plate was beautiful, but the fish was completely covered in fresh garlic--and I mean covered. There must have been at least five cloves on each piece. We tried scraping it off, but the garlic was so overpowering that we could no longer taste the fish, and it even took away from the sides of tri-colored potatoes and vegetables. My sister ordered the patty melt and absolutely loved it, and my husband said his burger was very good. However, the risotto he chose as a side was so salty that it was almost impossible to eat. We were also surprised that several of the signature dishes were unavailable because they didn't have the necessary ingredients and meat cuts. I would have understood if the restaurant would have been packed with a waiting guests outside but it was a quiet Wednesday evening and the restaurant wasn't crowded. So I think it was more an issue of ordering the appropriate amount of product or making cuts since a vacation season is over. The chef came around afterward and asked how everything tasted. We shared our kudos and concerns about the excessive garlic and overly salty risotto. The atmosphere and setting are beautiful, but for the amount of money we spent- it was quite pricey, the food was disappointing and not what we expected.
