    NorCal Burrito
    Sarah C.

They have THE BEST carne asada fries ever!!! Highly recommend. You can ask for their special sauce on the side if you're like me and can't tolerate spicy food too much. Their burritos are MASSIVE & the NorCal burrito packed with avocado, fries, meat & cheese.

Found this place through yelp decided to give it a try. I got the burrito, wrap, and fries. The food was pretty good, it was different. Overall it was a little too much carbs for me and there wasn't a really strong flavor as it all was like mushy and flavors didn't pop or compliment each other. Cool concept, I think the crunch wrap was my favorite. Overall it's like chipotle on steroids.

So Cal Burrito w Onion Rings and Bacon

I'm bummed. I ordered a SoCal Burrito with onion rings and bacon. With the add ons-this burrito came out to $20. I was super excited only to cut open my burrito and see no hot cheetos. It also mentions having sour cream, a secret sauce, and guacamole. I barely had guacamole and didn't see any sour cream or secret sauce. I couldn't go back to fix my order due to my short lunch break. ): I've been noticing other reviews sharing that their orders have been made incorrectly even with the "order accuracy card." It's a no for me even though I so wanted it to be a yes!

This place is a must try if you're into off-the-wall late night food. I was surprised this place is open until 1:30 am! The menu is heavily inspired by Taco Bell's menu, but is interestingly part junk food and part quality hand-made ingredients. I got the crunchwrap-inspired flamin Cali crunch w/ Pollo asado and battered/fried cookie dough bites. Everything was messy and delicious, just as I was hoping for. I added a side of nacho cheese sauce which was also good. The only issue I had with ordering from here was finding the food truck. The location I visited (Northgate) is at the bottom of a small hill in the back of a strip mall parking lot, but once you get back there it's pretty easy to spot. PS, If you have a second you should read their menu. The descriptions for each item are pretty funny

Yo it's been like 3 years and every single Uber eats order is botched. I've never written a 1 star review in my life but my god. Guys figure it out. I'm begging.

NorCal Burrito - should have been a SoCal Burrito

Every now and again I end up on a corner of Instagram with insanely decadent food. You know the pictures I'm talking about - pizza stacked four slices high, burgers with buns made of hamburger, and the ever-present fountains of molten cheese. I feel like Man vs Fries is the kind of spot trying to bring those insane food fever dreams to life, a concept I'm 100% in support of. I found them through an Instagram ad and was captured by the photos, the food looked amazing! By the look of it, they're California-based, and are doing popups all over the US. I've ordered from them twice, and unfortunately found the execution to be underwhelming. Order 1 - I ordered a Cali Crunch via Uber Eats. Usually, I try to place orders directly with businesses so they get more profit and less goes to companies like Uber/Grubhub, etc, but there's no option for this. I selected "pickup" and waited for my order to be ready. Whoever is running their food truck isn't updating the order completion time, so arriving 30 minutes after I placed the order, it was clear my food had been sitting for a while as it wasn't warm. When I picked it up, the app was still saying it wasn't ready. When I got home and started eating, I noticed the meat choice was incorrect but was too hungry to worry about it. The queso had solidified, so I had to warm it up. The Cali Crunch was tasty, but really not considerably better (or larger) than the Taco Bell version it's emulating. The "Order accuracy card" on the bag wasn't filled out. Order 2 - A friend from my quarantine pod and I decided to give them another shot, and ordered a Flamin' Cali Crunch, and two Socal burritos. We showed up at the truck earlier this time. The staff still didn't seem to be updating the order completion time via Uber Eats. We noted that the order accuracy card was completed, and took off for home to enjoy the food! Upon arriving home, we were frustrated to notice that a burrito was missing. We tried calling them, but no one picked up. We drove back to the truck, and the staff was kind enough to remake our order so we didn't have cold food. They even added in an order of cookies, which was appreciated. When we got home, we noticed that the re-made order had the wrong burritos (NorCal, not SoCal burritos), and one of them had the wrong meat choice. The queso was also missing for the Flamin' Cali Crunch. I'd like to reiterate that the staff was a joy to interact with, and I'm confident they would have cheerfully fixed our order a second time, but there's only so much time I'm willing to expend on this stuff. There was a lot of un-melted cheese on both burritos. The flavors were nice, but not worth all of the time or effort. Yes, they are massive burritos, but not super flavorful. In summary: The staff: They seem kind and well-intentioned, but don't seem to be correctly using the delivery service apps, or quality assurance tools. The food: I never got what I ordered, and what I did get was just "fine". Maybe I should have been less sober, or more hungry. The overall experience: Not great. I'm wishing I would have spent my money at one of the many excellent Seattle alternatives instead of a pop-up based in another state. Seattle restaurants need our support, and are more deserving of time, effort and money than this place is.

Nothing special taste wise. Just large portions, which might be the reason for the price. Had the flamin hot crunch thingy and wife had the SoCal burrito. I asked for them not to put hot Cheetos in the burrito but they still did.

    Asada Nachos

Ordered Nachos, meat was cold, cheese wasn't melted and pretty sure the guacamole on nachos was from Costco.

Got a set of Carne Asada Fries, Helladilla and NorCal Burrito. One word HELLA! Boyfriend loved the curly fries with the hot Cheetos in his. Steak was a pieces size was good. Daughter got the Helladill with the steak and Hot Doritos. She loves it! I got the NorCal burrito. Half of it filled me up! But it's worth it!! Delicious and straight up fulfilling & satisfying!! All positive!!

I have never wrote a review before. But this place is Fire! Don't know why I just found it, but hands down best burrito, crunch wrap , cookies I've ever had!

On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. It was good, but there was a bit more butter than I would have preferred, and the standard toast wasn't quite crispy enough for my liking. That's an easy fix though, and I'll just ask for it toasted a bit longer and less butter next time. I really love the location of this spot and am hoping to check out their other location soon. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. One thing I especially appreciate is how light these bagels are compared to some other Seattle bagel shops. They have a great chew without feeling overly dense. Service has always been friendly and efficient. I still haven't tried any of their fish sandwiches, but that's next on my list. Until then, I'm perfectly happy sticking with a classic sesame bagel and cream cheese.

THE SHORT OF IT: - Absolutely exceptional ambiance, food,…read moreand service. I can't wait to go back! Service was quick, attentive, and everything arrived in a very timely manner given how busy they were on a Saturday evening. The menu truly has something for everyone and the wine list is exceptional. We also had a birthday at the table and still felt special and well-attended despite every table being full. THE INSIDE: - The stained glass windows and hanging lights give such a warm, cozy, yet upscale vibe. - There are many tables and booths. - Handicapped accommodations can be made, but I'd ask in advance, as some areas are tougher to navigate than others. THE FOOD WE TRIED: - Pasta dish: Garlic Fennel Sausage, Oyster Mushrooms, and Snap Peas with Creczenza, White Truffle Oil, and Tagliarini balsamic, red and green basil, parsley, grana padano. Absolutely stunning. I could not finish it, so I'd suggest splitting it with someone else if you can't take it to go. It was so ridiculously flavorful and fresh. I want to eat this 11 more times. - Scallops dish: Sea Scallops Seared in Cast Iron with Oyster Mushrooms and Yellow Corn Risotto asparagus pistou, red basil, white truffle oil, crescenza, fine herbes. Presentation was gorgeous and scallops were melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The corn risotto underneath would honestly be just as good on its own. - Steak dish: Snake River Farms Wagyu Baseball Cut Sirloin 9 oz. The savory compound butter on top was the perfect amount, and the two sauces on the side (chimichurri and a brown one I wish I could name, it's in the pictures) were so good I could have eaten them by a spoon. Steak was cooked to an ideal medium rare with a perfect sear. This was the star of the table, even with everything else being SO GOOD. -Seafood: Big Easy Jambalaya, deep creole flavors, unapologetically spicy wild gulf prawns, chicken, house made andouille, tasso. The person who ordered this said it reminded them of straight New Orleans fare, so I trust their experience! Properly savory and chock full of flavor. SIDE NOTES: - Someone at our table had a seafood allergy and had no issues despite the vast amount of seafood on the menu and around us. - Reservation system is quick and easy. It feels a tiny bit cramped to move around outside of your seated area, but once you're seated, you absolutely won't care given how delicious everything is! - We ate here before attending an opera and had a cozy corner booth reserved months in advance, so that may have improved the experience a bit. :)

We came about 30 mins early for reservation and the host was able to accommodate our early arrival. The restaurant is nice inside and has a unique vibe. When our waitress arrived, I informed her it was my birthday and overall her energy was just dry throughout our service. Not that I was expecting her to give me a cake but a smile would have went a long way. I ordered one of their margaritas and it was meh, overall I just didn't have a good cocktail anywhere we dined in Seattle. I ordered one of their king salmon dishes that was "creole style" but severely lacked seasoning. My boo ordered the steak, which also lacked salt and was served with boxed mash potatoes, which they should be ashamed for at this price point. I also had 4 oysters as an appetizer and they were so small! I was expecting more from the seafood as it seems to be what Seattle is known for. They oysters were fresh, but $22 for four tiny oysters is offensive. This experience may have gotten another star if the service was better but this is place I'd just skip.

We tried the smoked salmon dip with chips, the fried chicken sandwich and the the black cod kasusuke. The crab rolls were sold out by the time we got there or we definitely would have tried those. The salmon dip was good, lots of dill, and the chips were crispy. The fried fish sandwich was light, which was nice for something fried, and the roll it was on was soft and warm. The black cod kasusuke was my favorite dish of the meal. The black cod was tender and fell apart, and it was seasoned so nice. It came with a spinach salad and rice which was also delicious.
