such a cute spot for delicious mexican food and tasty cocktails in seattle. the vibes are definitely more upscale and moody, so this is one of those places that i'd say is good for a girls night out, date night, or just showing visitors around. service is great, our waiter was super sweet and helpful. the staff also cleared our table pretty swiftly and even offered us new plates at one point, which i really appreciated. one of my friends also came here for her birthday and she got a little something on the house, so i can definitely say service is top-notch! foodwise, even though koko's is more expensive than your average mexican spot (you're totally paying for ambiance and service too though), the portions are heaping. i barely finished my enchiladas and all of my friends took their meals to-go. (those burritos are massive omg.) the mole enchiladas were SOOO good, as were the cashew poblano enchiladas. their sauces are so yummy and the presentation was on-point for both enchiladas. i also had a bite of my friend's carne en morita which is a slow cooked pork dish, and i was obsessed. the only thing i'd say to pass on would be the tacos. drinks were also great and had amazing presentation. i was very satisfied with my carajillo and my friend's passion fruit mojito was also very tasty (you could NOT taste the alc in it i swear) overall, koko's is a great spot if you're looking to dress up for a cute night out but also craving some tasty mexican food. read more

Koko's was a fun surprise. We were lucky to get a table on a Saturday night. When we walked in, we had to wait a bit to get our table but the wort wasn't that bad. Overall, the place gave a nightclubs vibe cz it was loud and they were playing loud party music. We expected the place to be more a cozy restaurant. The ambience was nice, very upscale and very Mexico. Our server was extremely sweet and friendly. We ordered the mezcal old fashioned and the Catskills for our drinks and both were really good. For our apps, we ordered the Mexican street corn. It was good, but not super great! We then ordered some portobello tacos and some carne en morita. had a great experience here! the cashew poblano enchiladas had a very unique flavor profile that i quite enjoyed and the steak in it was well cooked. i think a real highlight of this spot is its ambiance and service, such an upscale interior with nice servers. in my opinion, the food to portion ratio was reasonable for some items like the burrito, but for others it definitely waned more pricey than i personally would like, but overall, i think the presentation of the food and drinks was incredible and everything i had was quite tasty. drinks-wise, i had a mango mocktail off the N/A menu which was excellent, if a touch tart, and a mexican coke, classic, but of course the real highlight is their margaritas and cocktails. overall: 8.75/10 taste: 9/10 price: 8/10 experience: 9/10 read more

Found this gem one night strolling through cap hill and OMG WOW they have an amazing late night happy hour, incredible decor and atmosphere (felt like we were in a different city!), and our waiter who was also the bartender was incredible!! I had my bday brunch here with my colleagues and it was a great time! My colleague did a reservation over the phone and said they needed her card on file for incidentals. If the whole party didn't show, we would be charged $20 per person. Their OpenTable platform said this counts if it's 10+ ppl for the $20 charge so it was a little confusing since my party was less than 10. Other than that, we were not charged so it was great! The ambience is SO pretty! They had the Christmas decors up to with huge nutcrackers and Santa's sleigh! The chips were fresh and were hot which was nice! Salsa was good and the shrimp ceviche as a starter was a delight! I got the carajillo coffee which was outstanding! And the huevos rancheros, the spice was just right. They have a breakfast menu!!! A nice Mexican restaurant in Capitol Hill. I went here for Sunday dinner and it was not busy, but reservations are suggested. The decor here is pretty colorful and ornate. We sat near the bar high top and ordered Mexican corn and poblano cashew enchilada with carnitas. Both dishes were enough for 2 people to share. The Mexican corn is fairly standard, with cotija and some chips to supplement the dish. Portions were quite decent and the corn was fairly good. The cheese is nicely melted for that nice long cheese pull. The poblano cashew enchiladas were very delicious. After all, people say that's the dish that makes them stand out. There are 3 pieces of enchiladas with a generous amount of carnitas. There's also some pickled onions and other fixings to enhance the dish. The sauce was rich yet not too heavy. Service was really good. They checked up on us once in a while and ensured prompt water refills. A great Mexican restaurant to try! I highly recommend going during their happy hour. Their regular hour is modestly pricey, however, during happy hour they got some good deals! I had their carnitas tacos and it was pretty good. The meat was prepared nicely and the tortilla was freshly made. The sauces that came with it was tasty as well. I also had their platanitos and they were pretty good as well! The service was good. The host was nice and helpful, and answered any questions I had. The food didn't take that long to make as well. TLDR: the price tag is an accurate reflection of the appearance (decor & plating), but not an accurate representation of the food quality or the service. We saw raving reviews of this restaurant so stopped by for some good Mexican food with good ambiance. Service was fast but our waiter very much carried a vibe of "I hate my job". Bathroom was downstairs behind a long flight of stairs, so beware if you need accessible accommodation. When looking at the menu we were immediately shocked by the price - a guacamole w/ chips appetizer is $18. We wondered if it came in humungous portion to justify the insane price, until we saw it on our neighbor table - it was moderate amount at the most. Would probably cost $5 to make at home, and cost $12 at any other restaurants. We got a Koko's burrito and a carnitas Benedict. The food was overall fine, but wow the portion was tiny. I finished my $20 carnitas Benedict 5 minutes after it was served, bc they were literally bite-sized (see photos). Also, there were multiple eggshell pieces in the Benedict... Wait Time: We had a reservation for 15 people on a Wednesday night for a birthday dinner. We arrived a few minutes early but were asked to wait outside even though our table was clearly ready. When we asked if a few of us could grab a drink at the bar while waiting, the host said no, which was disappointing. Ambiance: The space is super cute--chic, trendy, and definitely gives off Mexico resort vibes. It's a great spot for photos and group gatherings, but I wish the overall experience matched the aesthetic. Food: The ahi tuna tostadas and chicken tortilla soup were delicious, but our steak and fish tacos arrived cold. It took a long time for food to come out, and the tacos didn't taste as fresh as we hoped. On the plus side, the cocktails were great--just slow to arrive. Customer Service: Service was very slow throughout the night. The server mixed up my fish tacos with a friend's shrimp tacos, which could have been dangerous since I'm allergic to shrimp. First, the sangria seemed to be just thrown together without adherence to an actual "sangria" recipe...Koko's version appeared to be made with lots of ice, wine, and some bits of orange. Second, and more eyebrow raising was that we were charged for a salsa refill. Dinner was $100 for 2. Unfortunately, Koko's nickeled and dimed us. She goes "lets look for something else" But i wanted to go. So i pulled up two other places that were probably border line condemned by the heath inspector. #strategy She goes "lets try Koko's". We got lucky with parking. Didn't have a reservation and got lucky there too because the place was full, tunes were flowing, people looked nicely dressed (chic but not over the top), and the place itself was cute AF (thanks for actually putting thought into the flow and ambiance of your restaurant) Our server was fantastic too (with the recommendations and personality). Just an all around awesome meal. We've been back 3x since. Shes also had several girl nights here with latin friends from miami who give it their stamp of approval. Its a vibe. Go immediately. Everything was 5/5. My gosh. This might be one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The chips were fried fresh and paired perfectly with the salsa. The enchiladas were absolutely perfect. The sauce was different than most - full of different flavors that all complimented each other great. My family loved their carne asada plate. I didn't try it but it looked so tasty. The margaritas + mojito were also so delicious! I loved the flan. It's thicker than most, but not super sweet. The churros were also thick and came out pretty hot. I came here with a group for a birthday and the customer service was really good, attentive, and friendly, which made the evening enjoyable. The restaurant was packed and the host told us it would be a 30 minute wait but we were pleasantly surprised when our table was ready 10 minutes in. I loved the interior decor and felt like I had been transported from Seattle to Mexico City. I tried the prickly pear martini and the Mexican hot chocolate. The martini had a nice balance of sweet and sour although the ice ball in the middle of the drink made it feel a little clunky. The hot chocolate was great especially on a cold rainy day! The vibe here is classy and relaxed you feel instantly calm the moment you walk in. I absolutely loved the ambiance. Even the crockery matched the aesthetic perfectly. The service was impressively fast we got our food within 10 minutes. However, the downside was how rushed we felt. The Mexican corn had balanced flavors and there was plenty of noted cheese in it. The poblano cashew enchiladas were delicious. I really liked the green sauce. Service was amazing from all servers except for one person. This person was the one who brought the check to us. Me and my boyfriend split the bill with the inkind app and I was going to pay the remaining $7.00 of service charge on the bill. When I tried to pay, inkind refused to corporate saying there was an error. We assumed the person giving us the bill would know what to do but he insisted that I didn't have funds on my card (??). Eventually we got the server to pull up the remaining balance on their machine and I paid through that. I get that restaurants can be afraid of customers being unable to pay their bill but assuming I didn't have the funds was rude. Also, servers and managers should be more knowledgeable about the inkind app since the restaurant is on inkind. Our server did not seem to know about inkind at all. read more

Walking in to Koko's felt like a dream. I loved the ambiance of the warm colored lights and flowers. Come here at night to see the beautiful warm lighting at the greatest scale. The servers were quick to seat us and our server was very kind and suggested great things to order. This menu is a great Hispanic food find for vegetarian and vegans, which is often tough to find. We ended up getting a bunch of things to try. First, we ordered the chips and salsa. It came super fast and the salsa was super yummy with good lime flavor, the guacamole was average in my opinion and the chips were great. Then we got the paradise mocktail and it had a deep citrus taste. It was also very cute and made for a cute photo. For mains, we got the cheese empanadas. They were super crispy and a perfect cozy food. We also got the cashew green chili enchiladas and they were my absolute favorite and must order. I added the shrimp to them and they were such a good add on. The sauce is so creamy and a perfect amount of spice. Also the presentation is gorgeous. Was looking for a place to have a quick dinner on my first night in Seattle and stumbled across this place. Didn't know if I would have expected to find a good Mexican restaurant in Seattle but Koko's knocked it out the park. First of all, the restaurant was gorgeously decorated, and they utilize the space very well. We started with the toritos shrimp jalapenos, they were a little cold but going to chalk that up to the cream cheese. For entrees we went with the steak tacos and mexican enchiladas. The sauce and flavor of the enchiladas was phenomenal. And as someone who orders enchiladas at almost every Mexican restaurant she goes to, I was very impressed. My mom got the steak tacos and liked them a lot, she even put my enchilada sauce on it for additional flavor, which lets you know how good it was. Would definitely suggest trying them out! read more

Came with a reservation during happy hour to celebrate a birthday at 4:30 PM. The food and drinks were great. I love the cocktail menu and how the drinks are drawn on there. However, I put that I'm celebrating a birthday on the reservation and nothing happened. It is cute in there and as the night progressed, the lights turned lower, and the music got louder. We stopped into Kokos for brunch and had such a great experience! The lavender mimosa was absolutely delicious. Honestly, I could have had it by the pitcher. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which were tasty (though the breading was a little different and crumbled off a bit). My husband got the breakfast burrito and said it was packed with flavor and really good. The location itself is absolutely gorgeous, it gives off a Tulum vibe and definitely makes you forget you're in Seattle for a moment. On top of that, their drink menu is stunning. We ended our Saturday night at the bar with margaritas so good, I briefly considered booking a flight to Mexico. The décor gave major Isla Mujeres vibes (that perfect blend of retro cool and modern flair). Highlights: * Drinks: Stellar margaritas--tangy, perfectly balanced, and served with just the right amount of flair.
