Had lunch at this place since we heard their sisig was good. Well the sisig wasn't spectacular. Of course there was a bit of a wait for the food to come out when we preordered them. The servings were so small when the host said the large was for 4-5 people but in reality it could be for 1-2 people. I'm not about to blame the server but the person who planned how the food is to be presented ... there was a little accident when the rot iron pan almost fell on my sister's head. The server had to make a balancing act with the round pan on top of an oblong hot plate holder. Duh that didn't make sense dude! A round pan has to be on a round tray and not an oblong one. Gosh I wish Manam was back home. This is a fantastic and widely popular restaurant for Filipino comfort food. Based on our meal, I can confidently say they are very good at what they do. My family and I came for dinner at the suggestion of my parents and sister, who had already been to Manam for breakfast. It was busy, as expected, and we were told we had an hour wait. We decided to wait it out which worked well in our favor as we were seated in under 30 minutes. We took the time to peruse the menu and were able to order right as we were seated. As we were a big group, we opted to get things to share (which is also how Filipino food should be enjoyed). We ordered rice, crispy pata, beef sinigang with watermelon, sisig, and gising gising- which is a vegetarian dish. The food was fantastic. I loved their interpretation of sinigang with watermelon- it was so unexpected but delicious. The crispy pata was fantastic and a much larger portion than we anticipated. The sisig was flavorful and well made, and the gising gising was spicy and delicious. It was so much food but my husband and I made room for the ube shake with sago. It was so so good. I'm daydreaming just thinking about it. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. It was a little loud so having conversations across the table was a bit difficult. Manam was recommended to me by someone who works with the resto, who raved about it. I was told they are now open for breakfast so I came in to give it a try. First off - the food was great and the ube+sago shake is awesome. But that's all I can say was good. For an average to small place there is a huge lack of service. I was the only person in the place at 10am so I would assume service would be easy...was I wrong. After looking through the menu for 5 minutes it felt like forever before the waitress took my order maybe 15-20 minutes. This was the initial annoyance. 2nd my shake came pretty much as I took my second to last bite of my meal. I prefer my drinks to arrive before or when my meal arrives not at the end. I like to wash my food down. 3rd (now there's more customers maybe 1/3rd full) I had to ask for my check 3 times..and afterwards it took another 10-15 minutes by the time they took my payment. My friends brought me here for my first dinner back in Manila. The wait was long, but the food made it worth it. We indulged in our favorite Filipino classics - sisig, sinigang, lechon, chicharon - all to share. This is great for group gatherings where you want to taste several dishes. I don't think they do anything new with the dishes, but I still enjoyed the food and the ambience. Nothing says comfort food like Filipino cuisines, which is why I am a fan of Filipino-themed restaurants. While I have never visited any other Manam branch, I have heard of its reputation for unique yet incredibly delicious Filipino comfort food. Hence, when I visited its newest branch in BGC, currently in soft opening, it piqued my interest and gave it a go. The restaurant did not even feel like it was in soft opening. This branch in BGC has a classy, upscale-like interior. The white walls, comfortable seats, huge windows, presence of stargazers and other plants, and Filipino music on the background all project a comfortable atmosphere suitable to the eyes as well as the ears. This place is perfect for large groups, especially for family gatherings, friend reunions, and company dinners, as was the case upon my experience. The presentation and the service is also commendable. From the large plates to the menus, everything was presented to feel truly Filipino-inspired. The waiters and waitresses are very accommodating. Given that we were in a group and ordered a lot of dishes, I was surprised they were all served in less than 30 minutes. I was also delighted by the dishes here. What stood out to me especially was its version of beef sinigang, which had both tomatoes and watermelons mixed in it. It was without a doubt the best sinigang I ever had, which alone makes me consider returning to this branch in the near future. Other classics, such as pork sisig and kare-kare, were outstanding in presentation as well as its taste and impact on the appetite. The servings are also available for single order or for multiple people, and the prices are reasonable, too. This Manam branch truly belongs in the BGC, and I would recommend everyone to pay a visit to this restaurant. Food here is amazingly delicious! Will definitely be back for more! If you want good filipino food which I define to be as good as how my parents make it or BETTER then you must try Manam. It's a lovely modern restaurant located in BGC that serves such delicious & satisfying filipino food with a large selection to choose from. I love that they give you options for size depending on how small or large your group is. Everything I ordered was absolutely delightful and is just as good as my momma makes. Came here with a group and for the main dish I ordered the Seafood Kare Kare - it was rich and a bit sweeter than what I'm used to but it was yummy and had generous amounts of seafood in it. I also had the Lechon Kawali which was perfectly crisp and I should have ordered the large size because this was the first dish my group devoured, the Pancit Palabok, a MUST try and is better than my Mom's, and Garlic Rice to go with all the main dishes. I wish I had more room in my belly to try more but I wanted to leave room for dessert. I ordered the Buko Pandan shake which was creamy & satisfying and the Mango Turon with vanilla ice cream which to me was the star of the show! At first I didn't know what to expect because I'm used to the traditional Banana Turon but I was pleasantly surprised by this dish and enjoyed every crispy & perfectly sweet bite. (Long update at the ***) The food serving & quality is consistent. We've been to their branch at Greenbelt 2 & everything is pretty spot on, including the service & interior. This branch has 2 floors, the first floor being pretty spacious. *** The line was very long because it was a busy Sunday evening at the restaurant. We had no problems waiting to be called to our table later. We were even asked to order in advance, which we liked. It was surprising to see the couple after us get served first, so we made a follow-up and received our orders after a long wait again. The server was friendly and apologetic. Sinigang na Beef Short Rib & Watermelon is still excellent in taste but it was really a downer to be given very small portions of meat, bones nearly being just as much as the meat. We frequently order this dish at different branches so we know how generous they usually are with the meat. We tried the Crispy Pork Belly-licious Kawali and I reached the point of not wanting to eat anymore. I'll give leeway for the quantity since it's a first for this one, but the skin wasn't living up to its name as crispy. Regardless of what happened at our last visit, we are still going back because we still love their food. Hopefully the restaurant will redeem itself. :) read more

The food was delicious and had great presentation. However the service was crappy. It took several follow ups before we got our small order of rice. By the time it came, the rest of the food was already either finished or too cold to enjoy. The same goes for the soup refill we requested several times but never got. Visiting the PI, I wanted to try really good Filipino food. So when I asked the locals near my Airbnb, many of them suggested Manam. For the most part, the food tasted great! I highly suggest ordering their sisig! But just make sure you get the medium or even large of it. We ordered a couple small orders in hopes we can try everything on the menu. But there was probably one small piece of meat in the bowl so it's nothing shareable when it comes to the small. Overall not the best place to eat, but it's nice. read more

Most of my family flew to Manila. In between the traffic, we took some time to explore the amazing food and culture this city had to offer.

The food was great. I really liked their Pork Sinigang and their Sisig was cooked perfectly (very crispy). Strawberry w/ Kamias tasted like Santol Juice which i really really loved. I think that was the best smoothie i've ever had. :) Serving time was alright, however it took a wwwwwwhile when we asked for our bill! That was the only downside we had in this resto. read more

I am reviewing as someone that flew all the way from New York to Manila with my parents just to visit our relatives. My dad and I decided to check this place out while we were walking around Mall of Asia (also, we were very hungry lol). The staff was very welcoming and the entire restaurant was filled with delicious aromas from the food that my stomach started to grumble even faster. From what I could recall since this was back in October, we ordered the kare-kare, a small plate of lechon, I think chicken or pork adobo (I can't quite remember), and sides of white rice and the bagoong rice. Now I am not the type to always lick my plate clean whenever I eat at a restaurant, but the bagoong rice had me hooked right away. It was so good to eat especially with the kare-kare that I had to pull myself back from ordering a second bowl because I was getting so full. My dad on the other hand also enjoyed the food and how fresh it was. His only comment was that the kare-kare was a bit sweet for his taste, but hey, that's only because he cooks a lot back at home. Another great thing: they offer different sizes for each item and the prices are reasonable as well! During our trip, we ended up coming back along with my mom, two titas, and my younger niece and nephew for late lunch/early dinner, and they all enjoyed their meals as well. The kids wounded up ordering a second plate of chicken wings and even ate all that up which was very fun to watch. I was also surprised to see that my mom finished her order, knowing that she usually struggles to finish her plate whenever we're at any restaurant. Here I am back in New York missing all the food from Manam, especially the bagoong rice. The Filipino restaurants here could never compare. I look forward to coming back the next time I fly back to the Philippines. :) read more

We were a group of 13 (includes kids and elderlies) and had a reservation somewhere else, but didn't work out, so we had to use YELP to find a last minute Filipino resto since a lot of us were visiting and wanted to introduce local cuisine to those who are foreign. Fortunately, this place accommodated us last minute and was really grateful that they did because we were going to fly out the next day. The food is spectacular, the service is great. All the staff was accommodating and all smiles which helped a lot after being tired. We had a chance to order what we wanted to try and they never failed!!
