I was delighted to find Breakers at Manassas Mall while visiting family in Gainesville. This restaurant is a great value with high quality food. Nine of us stopped in here around 5 pm on a recent Saturday. We were seated immediately. We all ordered AYCE ($34.95). What didn't we try? Favorites were the pork belly (plain and Galbi), beef brisket, and chicken bulgogi. We also enjoyed the seafood and kimchi pancakes, steamed egg, heck -- everything. Every person was given a tray of 3 dipping sauces which were exceptional. The Banchan too, they were not stingy and kept them coming. The servers helped grill and cut up the meat. The ambience was clean and modern. We enjoyed the musician and choice of music. It was just an enjoyable time, one we want to repeat. The food here is not the only thing that's amazing. The staff and the service were outstanding. We came on a Saturday and it wasn't that busy, which confused me because they are so awesome. The owner came and spoke to us about the business being new and telling us all about the events they have going on every week. She even showed us some new ways to eat the Korean bbq. It was the most awfully tasting "Korean" food we ever ate. The quality of the meats was very low, The preparation was poor too. The taste of other dishes was very bland and had nothing to do with real korean cuisine. In short it was poorly cooked "Americanized Korean" food. One star is for nice but inexperienced service. We came to Breakers for a bachelorette brunch and it exceeded our expectations! The food is delicious - I highly recommend the brisket, garlic pork belly, and chicken bulgogi. You get banchan sides plus delicious potato salad and broccoli, and the sauces work so well with the meats. And, their kimchi tastes so fresh! Just okay for me, nothing was terribly wrong but nothing great either. Sides need to be bigger not two pieces of broccoli for 6 people, left us waiting for more. The server could not keep up with our table because they wouldn't bring enough food. Food waste while terrible is a part of restaurant business but the controls should be invisible to a customer when they get all you can eat, not make us feel like we are paying a lot and then begging for more. The service is impeccable. My husband and I go to a lot of different kbbq restaurants and this location by far is the best yet. The owner/manager Marci is the sweetest person! She will make sure your experience is one to remember! What makes this breakers establishment different from the others, is that all of the side dishes have a buffet! I love this idea because it lets the servers spend more time with their tables rather than running back and fourth filling everyone's side dishes. The ambiance is so relaxing, and the music is too! I went there with my almost adult girls this past Saturday afternoon. We didn't have to wait and they sat us down immediately (which is a plus for me, I don't like waiting). The host and waiter were very friendly and took our order right away. We had the Korean bbq, we ordered the shrimp, garlic pork belly, chicken Bulgogi, prime beef bulgogi meat and it was all DELICIOUS, my favorite sides were the fried rice, tofu and pink radish. I also had a frozen Margarita and it was very refreshing after a stressful week at work. What was very nice about this place is the owner Marcie came to check on us to make sure we were enjoying our lunch, she was so friendly and nice. Marcie was an amazing host to my family tonight, we truly enjoyed the all you can eat with her recommendations and expertise in cooking the meats! She had a warm welcoming aura from the start and didn't hesitate to start a conversation or adjust to the language barrier, she's a quick thinker and an amazing person overall. We went to Breakers Korean BBQ on a Friday night, and had the best time! The food was amazing, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the new location in Manassas Mall is absolutely beautiful. Although we've had Korean food before, this was our first BBQ. The restaurant is new, so we got a table immediately. After we were seated, we were greeted by the manager Marcie. Marcie walked us through the food, the preparation, the culture. She helped us cook the most delicious beef bulgogi I have ever had. The pickled radish was tangy and a perfect match with the sirloin and mild kimchi. I will be back for the garlic pork belly alone. I can't say enough positive things about Breakers Manassas. Their food portions were so small the amount of meat they were giving 4 people I get that for 2 people somewhere else and for a lower price they say all you can eat but it's not true but that's obvious . The waitress was nice but she could've been more attentive she didn't know how to cook the meats so I feel like someone else should've taken over . Today was my 3rd time coming here and as always, I was very satisfied. Actually, I had the best time today meeting with Marcie who took over the grill and showed us how to eat korean way. It was a birthday lunch treat from my friend and upon knowing that, the owner gave me complimentary margarita and we each have complimentary desserts served by the chef. I have never left a public review of anything in my life, but I am so bothered by the utter incompetence of what we experienced, I am compelled to warn you to PLEASE not go there. We, a party of 2, dined there at about 7pm on a Friday, foolishly not checking reviews as we had been to the location in Fair Oaks several times and thought the same quality of experience would carry across counties. Dear reader, we were wrong. After we were seated, it took over 10 minutes (we timed it) for our waitress to come over. She finally came and we ordered the "ice cream soju cocktails". My husband asked if the drinks were frozen (like the ones in Fair Oaks) or were they ice cream. She responded, "they're frozen ice cream". Dear reader, I don't know what that means. Non-frozen ice cream would just be milk. And no, there was no language barrier. To start off with meat, we order the rib eye bulgogi and the pork belly. She says she'll bring it right out and tells us to get our sides from the salad bar. We get up there, and everything looks like it has been there for a good while. The rice is sitting in home rice cookers and it is the most dry rice you'd ever be conned into paying $45 per person for. The "clean" plates at the bar also have noticeable food remnants on them. We get our stuff and go back to our table, wherein we wait another 10 minutes for her to remember we exist and say, "oh yeah, your drinks". She brings them over, along with water that we requested, and the cocktails are neither frozen nor ice cream. Just regular liquid with ice. And they both taste like juice. I know soju is often flavorless, but these had nothing in them, which other reviewers have also stated. When asked for some straws, she gives us two to split between the four drinks we have and leaves. She brings out the meat and immediately dumps both the beef and pork on the grill. We both look at each other like "well we're getting a food borne illness tonight". She then asks if we need help cooking it. I think not after you just mixed our raw pork and beef together. We cook our stuff and she does not come around once to check on us or turn down the heat, which makes the grill blacken. Other KBBQ we've experienced can be iffy about the customer touching the heat so we initially left it alone, but we eventually turned it off after it became clear that she was not coming back. We had already decided to leave after the first round but then have to wait another marathon for her to come over to bring us our check. They tried to charge us for the ice cream cocktails rather than regular ones, and when told that the cocktail was very weak, she brought a bottle of soju over and explained how much the bartender had put in it, which means nothing because we didn't see them make the drink so she's just showing us a bottle for no reason and we're supposed to believe it. She amends it for two regular soju cocktails and we pay $100 to be free from this prison. This whole thing really sucked because we liked the breakers in fair oaks and wanted to like this one too. I can put up with a lot and I try to look for positives in every situation, but the only positive I can find in this is that hopefully you are reading this review and it stops you from going there. read more

As an avid Korean bbq go-er I'm frankly disappointed with this one. For the price, it's not worth your time. My peach soju cocktail was terrible, the fake peach taste was honestly revolting. I had to end up waiting 15 minutes for our drinks, and in the end ordered a soda instead. The portions are a third of what you would get at any other Ayce place, and the menu is more limited. The service was subpar. I didn't even know our servers name, and she had to keep asking us what we ordered multiple times. She'd also awkwardly just stand there so we couldn't have any conversation for most of the night. The quality of the food isn't great either, it seems like a good concept but in reality it lacks. I tried some of the sides, but their kimchi tasted like fermented seafood and vinegar. I do understand how it's made, but it was completely overwhelming. We ended up paying over $100 for one bad drink, mediocre service, and barely any meat. It was meant to be a Valentine's Day dinner, but frankly I was too embarrassed to even take photos there. Also with everyone picking up the same tongs, spoons, and lids for the sides i never saw anyone change them, or sanatize it. Overall don't come expecting it to be like the qui, or Iron Age. My wife and I dined here a few eeks ago on a Sunday evening. We expected there to be a bit of a wait, so we made reservation on Resy. Fortunately for us, there was no wait at all, but that is unfortunate for a restaurant of this size. We were sat quickly but the server took a long time to come around, close to 10 minutes. We ordered drinks and visited the salad bar and even after getting our side dishes from the salad bar it took about another 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive. We ordered our first meat and service improved from there. Our server was attentive to refills, replacing the grate, and getting more meats after the initial 20+ minutes of waiting. Once again we were left waiting to receive our check and to cash out. None of the KBBQ places I have visited had high quality meats, but some are better than others. It is the nature of the business, high quantity, low quality. I would give the quality of the meats at Breakers Manassas a 4 out of 5 for a KBBQ spot. We enjoyed the dishes from the salad bar and everything else about our meal except service at the beginning and end of our meal.
