In the initial planning stages, I knew based on the mileage on my 2022 Subaru that I'd need an oil change somewhere around North Dakota or Montana. I looked up Subaru dealerships along Interstate-90 in those states. I decided on Kramer Subaru based on nothing but the mileage on my odometer and the distance I calculated traveled during my road trip. While spending the night in a motel in Fargo, ND, I called Kramer Subaru and verified that I could pop in for an oil change the next day. The person who answered said it would be best to make an appointment, but I told them I couldn't because I didn't know what time I'd be arriving. The next morning I drove through freezing rain on the interstate for hours, a few times having to slow down to 35 mpg just to keep from spinning out on the ice on the road. When I arrived at Kramer Subaru my car was covered in ice. I told them a bit of my story. Road trip to Seattle (to start with) and that I'd just driven in from Fargo. They seemed a bit perplexed, and the service employee who helped me (Michael) said they were supposed to have an insurance specialist drive in from Fargo that morning, but he called and said he couldn't make it because the roads were too icy. I wanted to ask if he was not driving a Subaru, but I refrained. Kramer Subaru was amazing. Their service was super-quick for a pop in, and they were exceptionally helpful, even looking up the weather westward for me and giving me tips for driving into Montana. The price for the oil change was less than what I used to pay for oil changes on my old VW Passat 4-Motion. If I'm ever in Mandan, ND again, I'd go back to Kramer Subaru for sure...but since I never will be, I can at least leave this review in gratitude for a great experience.

My daughter was traveling across the country when her car broke down in the Dakotas. It was a mess. The head gasket went, and the engine was damaged. Due to the warranty my daughter went ahead with the repairs, but it was a waiting game because of the extent, and my daughter had to be at a job in Wyoming. The manager Brad Williams, and his crew helped my daughter, and me every step of the way. Calls were returned promptly. Clear communication was given. I just can't thank Brad, and his staff enough for helping my daughter out of a very tough jam that could have been made worse, but instead went as smoothly as possible thanks to this exceptional staff.

I needed to have a pre-purchase inspection done on a used Jeep that I was buying from a local…read moredealer. I'm located on the east coast, more than 1500 miles away, and needed to have this done in time for me to fly out to pick it up. Doug went above and beyond in rearranging his schedule to make this happen, and was always a gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. The price quoted was absolutely fair for the amount of labour that was involved in performing a full evaluation of the Jeep. Fortunately there were no serious red flags with the vehicle, which allowed the sale to proceed but he did find a few issues that the dealer will address before I pick it up. A big thanks to Doug and his wife. When I pick the Jeep up I will stop down to personally thank him and shake his hand for going out of his way. While there are many honest and skilled mechanics out there, one that offers excellent customer service and goes above and beyond in a pinch is a gem to find, and Northland Performance is definitely a gem.

Had these clowns install a steering rack around the end of March 2025 cause mine was leaking. Never…read morehad power steering problems before they touched it. Got it back,drove halfway home and the power steering quit working. Took it back to them and they said they forgot to tell me to bleed the system. Bleeding the system is part of the process. It shouldn't be my problem. Clowns. Got it back again and had the same problem again. Took it back again. Hopefully it's fixed this time. Clowns. 6 months and 4500 miles later I take my truck in to find out my NEW rack and pinion is shot. Likely due to negligence at the time of installation. Called good ol Northland and Derek said he would warranty the part but not the labor. Asked why not and was told he wouldn't honor the labor cause I gave him a bad review 6 months earlier. Even on a busy Monday morning, they were accommodating and got us in right away. They quickly diagnosed the issue and provided two clear bids--one with branded parts and one without--so we could make an informed decision. Their waiting area was clean, comfortable, and even featured a slideshow honoring local veterans, which was such a nice touch. The whole place had a warm, family feel, and they even gave little toy cars to our kids, which totally made their day. We're so grateful for the kindness and professionalism at Gunschers.
