Ok-so initially i gave them 2 stars because Toobah really messed up my acrylic nails. She did not take her time and did not diligently to do a good job and left me many many times and did not go through the proper process of doing my nails correctly. I got them done Friday and by Saturday they were chipping and all uneven. The gel coat on top had fallen off and the red paint was all uneven everywhere. So last night, Monday night, I went back to see if someone could fix them. Sue fixed them. She did an AMAZING job. She went the extra mile and made them look really clean and even looking. She was also very friendly. She was patient and very detailed. I would recommend her to get your nails done. Wish she would have done them in the first place. I hesitate to give 5 stars on my first ever Yelp review, but seriously- this place impressed me *that* much on my first visit. I've walked by this salon many times, but had never been in before, and since it was late on a Sunday afternoon, I figured I could probably get a pedicure without having to wait very long... There were about a half-dozen customers having pedis when I walked in, so I did wait a few moments to be greeted. While waiting, I had a quick look at their menu of services and noticed that if I wanted to use my credit card, I had to spend at least $35. The mani-pedi combo was $40, so I decided to go with that. Less than a minute later, I got a pleasant greeting and was invited to choose my color and have a seat in the waiting area. It wasn't long at all before I was making myself comfortable in one of their really awesome spa chairs. Was it my imagination or was that footrest actually heated? Either way, I would have been pretty happy just lounging in that chair for another 20 minutes or so. Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. There were 3 things that really impressed me about Mandara: 1) The staff - friendly, sweet, and funny. Thao and Nancy made me feel welcome and pampered, EXACTLY what I needed! 2) The quality of my mani-pedi. My feet and hands look and feel great! And despite the fact that I chose a pale color for my nails, they look perfect - not too sheer, not globbed on, and perfectly contoured to my now well groomed nails. 3) The ambiance. The salon is clean, bright, tastefully decorated, and doesn't seem to fill up with that "nail salon" odor, even when someone is getting acrylics done. Overall, I spent about an hour in the salon, and pretty much enjoyed every minute. I will definitely be back. Hello fellow Yelpers! I went to Mandara yesterday about 6:30pm and got a full acrylic French tip set done. The used the pink and white powder. I got out of the salon around 8:00pm. I know it seems like a long time but it was worth it. A few things about this place, the atmosphere is wonderful, the employees are friendly, and the place is very clean. I had the pleasure of working with Bee Bee (sorry if that's spelled wrong). She is a perfectionist, friendly and always makes sure you like what she did. If you don't like it she WILL fix it without a fuss. My total was only $45. Potentially the best service I have ever received. I am definitely becoming a regular here. The ladies here do a great job! I came in for a mani/pedi and let me tell you, my toes needed some work! They definitely take their time and are very thorough, making sure that you are happy. After about 1.5 hours, I was the one who had to cut it off because I needed to rush off to a dinner. So if you are looking for a place to relax, this is the perfect nail spa for you. It doesn't even smell like polish and remover like most places do. The best part is the hand and feet massages, in addition to the huge massage chairs. The experience was so relaxing that I fell asleep! Also, they use quality products (a great selection of OPI colors!) After 2 weeks, my toe nail polish is still intact. This place is brand new so all the chairs and equipment are sparkling clean. I saw that they sanitized the chairs & tub after I was done so hygiene is not a concern here. This place is very clean and friendly. I am so happy to find a place that does gel manicures with Gelish. They have a good selection of colors for the gel polish and I also like their removal process. Some places have you soak your finger tips in acetone for an extended period of time (up to 15 minutes) but at Mandara they did it the "right way" (IMHO). They soak cotton balls with acetone then place atop your fingernail and wrap it in foil for about 5 minutes. I can't wait to go back! read more

Totally dig this place! I'm not even the type of person that regularly gets manicures or pedicures (if you could see my hands and feet right now, you'd be grossed out and know that it's true) BUT, it's super conveniently located near my work, so I can pop in for a lunch-time manicure when I'm having a rough day or need some color in my life. I've had Stephanie both times and she's fabulous. Gives a great hand massage as part of the manicure and she doesn't try to make conversation with me, which I appreciate more than I can say. And for only $15 it's absolutely worth the hour of relaxation! That being said - they are busy. And they are busy because they're good. Last time I was there, I heard a lady complaining that her appointment time hadn't been honored and she was pissed. Of course, she let them know this AFTER they had spent two hours pampering her, but whatever.... I would just say - you have to be flexible. This is a type of business that thrives on walk-in customers. If you make an appointment, great! But know that they might be busy and you might still have to wait. It's just how it goes. I went there today to get a manicure done. I told the lady by name Ro to change the towel as it looked dirty and used, she really got irritated and started rolling her eyes for everything. Did my nails really bad. She was behaving as if she was doing it for free. Bad attitude When I went to pay the lady at the counter took my card swiped and then asked me to pay in cash. My fave place in Dublin for a mani/pedi! Thao is awesome and always gentle on my sensitive feet. Most places rush and are thus rough on my nails, which are kinda small, but Thao always takes her time and is super gentle. This place does get crowded on the weekends so I recommend calling for an appt. Prices are reasonable too: $25 for a spa pedi and $15 for a spa mani. Add $5 each for french tips. Great place for a pedicure! I live close by so I stumbled in one day when i was looking for something to do. The salon is very clean and updated so I definitely felt relaxed. They give a great massage with the pedicure and scrub away till your feet are as smooth as a babies bottom! I was so impressed with my first pedicure here that I decided to cheat on my nomal nail lady (never done this before!!!) and give them a try for my manicure too. I wasnt thrilled with my manicure becuase I felt a few of my nails were uneven and I had to keep pointing this out, but they were very nice and fixed everything I brought up. I think im just overly picky when it comes to my hands too! I have been back 3 times now for a pedicure and I defintiely think this is my new go to place when my feet need some loving! I've now been to Mandara twice. First time was on a whim as I had time to kill before our movie. They were able to get my husband to join me in my mani/pedi. While this was about 6 months ago I do recall the ladies being friendly and quite funny & interactive. My gel mani and regular pedi were solid with good shape and nice long massages. I just recently visited this place again. This time with more details to share. Mandara is nicely lit and painted with i believe 12 massaging pedicure chairs. I don't recall how many manicure stations as j seldom go in for just a mani but I think they had at least 8 mani stations. I was quickly greeted. Wasn't given the standard "Ya pick a color" shpeel so that was a nice start. I had a gel mani from my goto salon chip on me after 5 days. Pretty bummed about that. I sat down within about 5 minutes and was greeted by a nice young girl named Lena I believe. She promptly brought me the AMAZING selection of gel colors! There must have been 4-5 color rings to choose from! I was given some time to pick my perfect shade while Lena began buffing and wrapping my nails to remove the existing gel color from my nail. Fast forward to the nitty gritty: 1. She didn't over cut my cuticle- and pointed out that the person who did my last mani did! 2. She filed the perfect shape for my nails & hands! 3. Had a horrible experience... My nails were shaped nicely but i wanted my ring finger on each hand covered in rhinestines the the woman who did my nails nodded ok. I got acrylics with pink shellac which was fine but then she started doing the rhinestones then tells me she has never done this before... It cost me 80$ but they looked fine so i was happy UNTIL i took a shower that night and all the rhinestones around the edges of my nails started popping off. I normally do not raise hell but i did not even get a full 3 hrs out of my 80$ nail service. I went back in and requested them to be re done, the woman stated they would charge me... I said i literally just paid your nail salon $80, i want them redone at no charge. So they start talking to each other im assuming about my situation as i sit there and then they say ok but its a lot of work, which i understand but you literally just pissed me off by saying that. Don't have your nail techs do things they do not know how to do to make money and maybe you will not have this problem. Then she is hacking at my nails to get the stones off, then thats to hard so she just sticks my nails in acetone and i said i dont want my entire nail ruined and taken off! So she quickly pulls my nails from the acetone then starts hacking again, when i have gotten rhinestones elsewhere they normally drill them off! So easy! Then she applies shellac to one nail and starts making a mess with super glue rhinestones and clear polish, then doesnt shellac my other nail and i said dont you need to shellac this nail too and she stares at me then starts talking to the nail tech next to her and the other bail tech asks me what i said and i said she shellaced my one nail but not this one and they start talking and the other nail tech goes oh she did, i said i wouldnt say something if she did! I told her see how this is dull and rough i would bot say anything if you did! my semi ok nails are now paper thin and have rhinestones that took two hours to apply on only two nails! half of them were stuck permanently to her tools And looked like tiny dull orbs on my fingers! I told her dont even bother finishing and i got up and walked out of the salon! I have referred so many people to this nail salon but i will no longer refer anyone there! There were also 5 women getting pedis who make appointments for mani/pedis and when done with their pedicure said they had also called for manicures, the nail techs looked in fear because they were busy and did not have time, one woman client asked her nail tech why bother making appointments then and why do they take everyone who walks in the door when they have scheduled business, the nail tech just smiled and nodded... Always have great service. They take their time and do proper mani/pedi's and more importantly, they always flawlessly polish! I'm really tired of spending money on places that can't produce a flawless polished finish on my nails. If I want them to look like I painted them then I would paint them!! I also absolutely love the way they wax eyebrows. I am pretty particular and they have seemed to exceed expectations each time. They allows only trained individuals to perform waxing which makes a huge difference from the customers perspective. I have gone to Mandara now about 10 times or so, and as of yet, I have not had a single bad experience. Even my husband was pleased with his recent mani pedi. Very, very happy with the level of service. The only thing I would change is the tipping situation. Most people don't carry cash and it's annoying to not have a tip line on your charge receipt. But asking to add the tip to the charge before they run the card is stil better that the alternative on an in-store ATM that charges $4.00 to take out cash! I was debating whether or not to drop another star because of the ridiculous price of the services, but being that the ladies did an excellent job and were quick I'll just subtract one star. Pros: super clean, friendly employees, take pride in what they do. Not a single nail even looks remotely blemished. Also a perk is that they're open late on the weekdays (8pm) which I wish most nail places followed suit so we didn't have to all rush in on the weekends Cons: COST! When the lady told me it was $76 for a gel mani and pedi (natural nails) I thought I heard wrong. Having lived all over Southern California, I'm use to exceptional service still being relatively inexpensive. If I'm paying over $50 for a simple gel mani and pedi it better comes with a glass of champagne (unfortunately you don't get that here). It is what it is, it's Dublin, I get it. Overall I most likely won't return because of the price (the place I go to in San Leandro cost $43 for the same services). But with that said the service was great. read more

Mandara Nail Spa is one of the best nail salons I have come by in a very long time. I recently moved to the bay area and was skeptical of trying some of the smaller nail salons near my apartment. I get so concerned about cleanliness that it's hard for me to try a new place out without knowing people who have gone there! Mandara is EXTREMELY cleanly and did an amazing job on my nails too. I only had time for a mani but the lady who did my nails was so gentle, kind, and talented. My manicure looked great and they did not rush me whatsoever to leave before I was dry. I loved that. I can't tell you how many times I mess my nails up 30 seconds after I leave a salon. Not this time! Two weeks later and my nails still look pretty decent. Got a basic pedi here last week. This place looks and feels brand new and sparkling clean. I was greeted very warmly when I walked in, something I've come to appreciate in a nail salon. Long, luxurious pedicure in a nice massage chair. I opted for the sea salt, but I might skip that next time (it's a foot & leg massage with an oil-based salt scrub). I would have appreciated a little more pressure with the massage, but it's my fault for not speaking up! My feet are really sensitive, and while my tech took her time with my right foot, I felt like my left foot was a little rushed with the scrub. I didn't squirm that much, honest! I would recommend making an appointment, as it seems like they staff the salon according to the day's appts. Got a gel manicure from Bebe -- Unlike Tabitha R's experience, I got excellent service, and the lady did know what she was doing! As a matter of fact, other clients are willing to wait for her. I am willing to come all the way out here from Hayward because the place I used to go to, Tammy openly argued with me, and because she wasn't winning, she was taking her anger out on me! First time, made an appointment for 3 pedicures on our lunch break, 2 of us waited over 45 minutes before anyone started our service. A bit frustrating since we had appointments. The last time my friend and I went again at lunch and got right in. They did a good job but when it came time to pay, they informed us of the 35.00 minimum charge to use a credit or debit card after our service. Yes, they had it posted by the cash register, and we both were prepared to pay the tip in cash as most places prefer, but this is a business. They should take card payment for services they offer. I used to really like this place- great colors for gel and long lasting. But over the last year, and $40 with tip for each gel manicure, I left with my fingers cut up. Whether a cuticle, or a cut in the side of the nail.. Always. And they'd say sorry and throw some alcohol on it. Ouch and thank you. These ladies are lovely after seeing them over and over but this business runs on quantity and how fast they can go. If they slowed down it would be better all around. I like this place but am giving it 3 stars because it is inconsistent. Sometimes my pedi/mani is amazing and sometimes it's just meh. There is a lot of rotating between technicians so it really depends on who you get. All of the ladies, however, are very friendly. If I go on the weekday afternoons it is generally fairly easy to walk in and get whatever service I need which is nice. The prefer cash and will request you to get it so you may want to prepare for that. I never carry cash so I like places that let me pay in the way that is more convenient for me, not for them. So moving to California, I'm trying to find all these places that I need to feel more "at home." in VA, I always went to my awesome nail lady Tina who did the brush on gel nails. (Not colored gel, not shellac, the actual clear gel they get from the jar and paint it on your nails.) Anyway, I initially went to another place but they didn't do the brush on gel so I quickly Yelp'd more nail salons that were near me and I read the reviews that they did the brush on gel! THANK GOODNESS. [Why they get 4 stars] I was pretty satisfied with the way they did my nails except that there were a couple of bumps in the gel. I went to Thuba and another girl was observing how to do this type of technique. I honestly feel like a lot of people do not get their nails done this way...I'm not sure why because it looks more natural than acrylic and does not crack as easy. Albeit a little more "fragile" according to reviews, my nails last at least 3 weeks even though everyone says to get a fill every 2 weeks. My pocket will say no thanks to that. They did my pedi and gel fill initially at the same time so I was getting all the dust from the nail drill on all my clothes - lol I mean, I didn't really care since it was after work but if you're really keen on keeping your clothes clean, ask them to do the gel fill separately. I got a spontaneous spa pedicure ($25) so I didn't wear the right pants - wasn't able to roll them up all the way (stupid on my part) but the pedicure was really nice because they massaged my feet and ankles for a really good amount of time! Moderately priced for a gel refill $28 (a lot cheaper than what I pay in VA for a gel fill). VERY clean and modern inside. VERY professional and nice. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I love trudging around the corner to the ATM by Frudruckers when it's 100°F outside. Otherwise, Mandara is hands-down the BEST quality gel manicure in the Tri-Valley area! They do such great work; their technique and process and product are the best that I've had in the Dublin/San Ramon area. I used to go to Good Nails - stop it. Their gel manicure is chipping and peeling off in a week. Bollinger Nail Salon is usually pretty good, but kind of hit-or-miss depending on who does your manicure. But Mandara is always a good, solid, quality job that often lasts 3 weeks for me. The ladies are all super friendly and it's worth it to fight the parking nightmare at Hacienda Crossings to come in and get my shit done right :) read more

I've been going to this shop for about a year and have had for the most part, great experiences. I've had maybe two bad ones, ever. So here's the skinny on this place: My preferred go to nail shop under these two conditions - you have at least an hour and a half to spend there (if you want at least a mani/pedi) and you can come during their least busiest hours (as soon as they open and / or right before the evening rush). They are a pretty busy shop otherwise. I had gone to another nail shop in the area religiously but began to be a regular at Mandara since my first visit. Their pedicures are the best I've ever had. Very thorough and cleanly polished. I love that they practice using a brush with acetone to tidy up any polish surrounding your nails. Their shellac manis are wonderful as well. My last visit was amazing. Got a wonderful massage during my pedi from Tracy and got a cute shellac mani from Vicky. If you're wondering about my bad experiences, one was a day I was getting my shellac off. In the end, it was the worst mani I'd ever had - it didn't even look like I got a manicure at all and the same lady cut me twice during my pedi. The second was waiting for about an hour to be seen even after I made an appt. I've been able to avoid these bad experiences by asking for certain technicians and going in when I know their not crazy busy. read more

I decided to squeeze in a quick mani and pedi here during my lunch hour. Considering I took too much on for one hour, they did an amazing job on my nail. My nails have been chip free for days now. I am really impressed by the quality of my mani and pedi here! I have been to so many "upscale" places (I am looking at you Nordstrom Spa) and no one has done a better job on shaping and polishing my nails. The reason I had to take off one star on this review is that my technician clipped me too close on the cuticle on my big toe and now it hurts like whoa.
