The first time I went to mandara, they did a fantastic job on my gel manicure. This is why I am still giving them two stars. Two weeks later, I made an appointment for another manicure- I waited over 30 minutes, still was not helped, so I ended up leaving. I don't care how good you are. My time is valuable and expect to wait no longer than 10 minutes with an appointment. If you cannot provide that service level agreement to your customers, then don't take appointments. read more

I'm not sure where the rave reviews are all about here. We waited for almost an hour (50 mins to be exact) before we got seated. Oh did I mention that I actually HAD AN APPOINTMENT?? After being soaked for about 40 mins and my toes were pruned, someone finally came to do my pedis. While doing my pedicure, she attended other people. I also was scheduled to get a manicure and between the pedi and mani, I had to wait for my lady to do another mani on someone else! Long story short, my mani and pedi took 3 hours, the longest mani pedi I've ever had in my entire life. Work wise, nothing spectacular. The ladies were so rushed cause of course I'm not the only person that had to wait that long. Some people gave up and left. I was left with 2 BLEEDING toe nails. Nice chair yes, but SO not worth the wait and the quality of work. read more

I went to this nail salon for a few months as the location was somewhat convenient. The long waits got annoying especially since I always had appointments scheduled for either a fill or pedicure. I brought a girlfriend with me one day and we ended up waiting 45mins on a Friday afternoon and then they sat us at the pedicure station and made us wait an additional 20 minutes while the water at our feet got cold. In addition, I had a fill done and I started to question the product quality when two of the nails cracked the next day and the manager charged me $10 to repair and was quite rude to her employee who was trying to repair the nails. Lastly, the $35 credit card minimum is also a down side. All in all...I have give this place a low rating as I have been to other nail places that are much more organized and treat returning customers better. They do have a good location and are fine for general visits but would not recommend making it your one stop only nail salon. read more

Mandara Nail Spa is by far my favorite salon, I have been coming here for about 2 years now. Everyone who works there is so nice and polite and I love that there is very little chatter. It is truly a relaxing experience and they are very generous with their massages during a mani/pedi. The physical salon is also beautiful and clean which is not easy to find in a nail salon. My only complaint is that gel polish removal is a bit pricey (although application is pretty standard in price), but they do a superior job on the whole application and removal process than other salons I have tried so I will continue to return and pay a bit more for removal. read more

If I could give this company "ZERO" stars, I would. I first went to Mandara when they opened a few years ago. They hadn't been opened long and had no hot water. It was one of the worst pedicures I'd ever had. I waited until a few of my friends went and raved about it. I went back two weeks ago so my daughter could have her nails painted as a special treat. We made the appointment for 4:00. When we arrived, there was a wait. People would walk in after us and immediately be seated. I kept asking for help and asking when our turn would be. We were constantly told 5 more minutes. When you have your 5-year old asking why people get to go ahead of her when she waited so patiently, you know it is time to go.. At 5:15, we left. Honestly, I probably won't go back. Don't get me wrong, the set-up is really nice. I've never been to a nail salon with so many chairs! But the girls, they don't do a great job. They'll kinda scrub one foot, then miss your heel? It's like that. She totally missed the side of my feet that need to be scrubbed the most, it was weird, because every dingle pedicure I've ever received never misses parts of your feet. I was literally bored out of my mind during the day on July 4th. BBQs and fireworks had yet to start so what better thing to do than drag your man to the nail salon?! In my lifetime of visiting nail salons, this has by far the most spa chairs I've seen... 14 to be exact. You can have your entire bridal party (bridesmaids AND groomsmen) come here for pedicures. Such a great idea that I might consider it now. I had called at around 2pm and the girl on the phone said they were closing at 3pm that day. I like that they have two pairs of chairs towards the back behind a waist high wall so it provides some privacy. It lessens the embarrassment for a guy's first visit. My nail technicians were really friendly and took their time. Since guys don't always get nail polish, they spend extra time giving them a foot massage and of course tried to sell me on the sea salt scrub which was an extra $5. I politely declined. Even though the place was set to close at 3pm, they were actually open to walk-ins until they stopped coming. Price was $25 for a spa pedicure which is a little more than I'd like to pay but it's right by the theater so I'm sure people are willing to pay. Lots of pluses for the cleanliness. read more

After coming to this salon for over a year and a half I would consider myself a regular. Being a working mommy of twins and my time being valuable to me I always make an appointment. The last few times even after making an appointment I have had to wait between 20-30mins but out of loyalty continued coming. Today however spending 2 hours in the salon to get my nails done is crazy!!! Rather than getting an apology I was argued with which is not ok with me. One would think making an appointment would mean being helped at that time. The last 4 times we've never been helped at our appointment time, but rather 15-30 minutes after. Dear Anyone who is thinking that this is a good place to go get their nails done, My friend and I are currently trying to find a really good nail place. We live in the Castro Valley area and have gone to many places in the area, but haven't found the "one." We decided to go on Yelp and find a better place in Dublin or Pleasanton. We saw that Mandara Nail Spa had the highest rating in the area and chose to go there. I made an appointment at 1:30 and got there at 1:20. We then began to wait for over a half an hour. They began to work on my acrylic nails (if you are looking for an acrylic place do not go here, because they don't have many options and charge $40.) My friend who also had an appointment at 1:30 needed to get her acrylics off and put on shillac. She waited over 2 hours to be seen!! OUTRAGEOUS!! The person who was doing her nails took off one hand's acrylics and left her other hand soaking in Acetone while she worked on someone else for over 15 minutes. My friend then had to tell the lady who was working there that she needed to get ready for work soon and wanted them to work on her. After our nails had been done only a few days, my acrylics began to chip causing me to have to take them off and my friend's shillac began chipping. I will never recommend for someone else to go to this salon. I was fooled by Yelp and am still on the search for the right nail salon. read more

Got my nails done here for prom. The ladies there were so nice. They tried their best to help me since there was a little bit of language barrier. Did not have enough time to do gel, so i only got regular nail polish. The outcome was beautiful but it cast $22 for a very simple design. Would suggest anyone to come here to get your nails done, but definitely ask about the price if you have a budget like me. read more

I want to love this nail salon. But their time management is horrible and I'm always inconvenienced when it comes to my appointments. I usually arrive 5 minutes before my appointment time and most times wait 10-30 minutes after my appointment time to get helped. Today was an outstanding 50 minutes past my appointment time, may I add I called to try getting an appointment for 11am but lady suggested I come in at 11:30am because they were quite busy. I mentioned that I wanted to be sure I can be done by 1245pm because of work, and she said no problem. It's now 12:25pm and I've been sitting in the pedicure chair for the past 25 minutes with my feet in the water waiting. Their work is great, all the girls are nice and know me by name. This place is my monthly get away place. Thui does my facials... excellent job. For $55 I get a head arms shoulder massage with my facial. I'm very much into beauty and Thui's facials are awesome highly recommended. Chuba does my nails and pedi.. so sweet and like me she is a perfectionist. So she always meets my expectations. I love this place. Very clean and they use all OPI polish not the cheap stuff. And have awesome salt scrubs. Everyone likes to feel important and I feel that Mandara Nail Spa really make every customer feel special. I highly recommend this place to anyone who like quality in all areas. I came here with my friend and we made an appointment. I wanted to get a fill and my friend wanted to get a pedicure. They made us wait 15 mins outside. This was okay understandable but some other perils walked in and they started to help them before us. We then walked back into the salon to tell them that we were still waiting they said OK you guys can have a seat now. They ran my friends water and she was able to sit down. I showed the lady what I wanted and she said that she can do a design and I asked her if anyone else could do a design and she said no the one person that can do a design was not there today and they can only do regular color. So I told her that it was OK that I was just gonna go somewhere else but I wanted to get my toes done she said OK. My friend asked her if she could let me sit in the seat next to her she said yes just wait because someone else is going to do her. I waited about 20 minutes and my friend asked again and the lady turns around and said oh you want a pedicure and I looked at her and said yes but then I told her never mind because I wasn't gonna give her money this was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Worst first time experience. Got a pedicure ($28) which was average. And a gel manicure ($33) which was definitely not worth the price. To me treating yourself to a mani and pedi is supposed to be relaxing. At Mandara is was quite the opposite. The 2 ladies attending me talked the ENTIRE time. Not only that but the lady doing my nails got up every 3 minutes to answer the phone, help other employees, etc. everything besides working on my nails. Every time she would get up she would forget where she left off and ended up filing the same nail 10 times! I decided to finally give them a try because they are 2 mins from where I live. I went in to get a mani and pedi, once I got home I noticed how bad the polish job on my toes is. The top coat didn't cover the bottom coat and in the sun you can see the two different layers. For $45 for a pedi I expect the polish job to be done nearly at least. read more

I like the ambiance of the salon and the people are nice. My complaint, unfortunately, isn't unique to this particular place. They tell you they'll be with you in a certain amount of time, and they aren't. My daughter and I had an appointment and they weren't ready for me until 15 minutes later and her, 30 minutes later. Why even make an appointment? While we were being attended to, a lady walked in and was told she could be seen "in 10 minutes". I looked around at the number of people already in the salon and the stages they were at and knew this was not going to happen. Sure enough the lady left, came back in 10 minutes, waited another 5 and left, frustrated. They do a good job here, but definitely don't have a handle on scheduling. Never again!!! I came to this place based on reviews and the fact that it was close to home. I needed to get a mani-pedi done and i figured why not give them a try....Well first off i did like that they were very clean.. However they are not very friendly. They speak to each other and then look at you and laugh which makes anyone feel uncomfortable!!! They tell you one price then charge you something totally different. Hmmmmm where do I start....... Came here on Saturday I made 4 appointments. We waited 40 min to be seen then to find out manicures were $18 each way over priced for Dublin. Not to mention only 1 of us were happy with our results we could have did a better job a home. Some of us got pedicures and we were not pleased. The AC was not on and it felt like a sauna in the 80 degree weather we had on Saturday. Not coming back! I hated this place so much I'm taking the time to write about it. First, they are understaffed. They have 20 + stations, and only had 6 people working on a Saturday afternoon. So, I walked in an they immediately get your feet soaking in the spa. They don't bother to say that you won't be helped for 30 + minutes. There were 4 of us sitting there long enough to read a magazine cover to cover and get bored of playing with the phone. Shouldn't they let us know that we would be sitting there waiting forever??? Plus, if you want your cuticles decently cleaned.... FORGET IT! I went with my mom for mani/pedi so there were 4 of them who actually worked on us, and we still have the same amount of skin we walked in with. I have given this place three chances. The first time they misquoted me on the price of a gel pedicure. A good business would have given me the price they quoted, not charged me more without an apology. The second time they put a different color on my nails than the one I selected. I chose a dark red, I got a black pedi. Again no apology or attempt to correct the situation. On my third and my last visit the lady dug deep in my nails even after I said that hurts a few times- I now have an INFECTION! I do not plan on returning. I'm sad I never tried this nail salon before today because I've been going to salons in Dublin for 3 years now. This place is really pretty, very clean, and in a very convenient location. They have very nice spa chairs. RARELY do I find a nail salon that is as picky about nails as I am- and the ladies here are very detailed. They spent lots of time and were very friendly. Of all the places in the area I've tried, this one takes the cake. I left with not a single complaint- not about the interior, the cleanliness, the staff, the prices, the service. A good nail salon is really hard to find but this place was "eh". I was out with a girlfriend and we spontaneously decided we both needed mani/pedis. We found this place during lunch and called ahead to see what the wait was going to be like. When we got there it was a busy Saturday but we only waited like 10 minutes before our pedis. They have a bunch of pedi massage chairs, lots of girls working and clean. I was bummed the massage chair didn't work, especially since we were there for 2.5 hours. The lady who took care of me was nice, she didn't make me bleed when cleaning up my cuticles - which has happened at other salons.The shape and length of my toe nails were spot on. The leg massage she gave was cool. The disappointing part is when I left the salon and really looked at my toes, my big toe looked like it cracked! After looking at it closer, it was the difference in the two coats she applied. About half my toes I could see coat one, and then coat two kinda covering my toe nail. Ugh. So annoyed. On to my mani experience. Again she did a great job with the cleaning up of my cuticles and shaping my nails but wow, she can't paint nails for nothing. The gel is chipping after a week on 4 of my nails. It's not like I am doing dishes daily, washing my hands a million times a day, or even drumming my nails on my desk to cause it to chip. I keep my nails fairly short. I wish I remembered the girls name that took care of me. I'll give the salon another chance but atleast I know to pay attention to the painting of my nails. read more

I really wanted to love this salon because of the location, interior, and reviews. I went Saturday to get a gel french manicure with a simple Hello Kitty design on my ring fingers. There was no wait, however, my nails were a hot mess. The glitter tips were lumpy, and the edges were left unfiled. They agreed to redo my nails Monday night, but unlucky for me, I got the same lady who did them the first time. I guess I should have requested someone else with more skill. The lady was very cold and callous at times, repeating OVER and OVER that the Hello Kitty bow I wanted was 3D and would therefore be "bumpy", and she didn't want me coming back complaining about it. She must have repeated that at LEAST 10 times. I'm not stupid - I know what 3D nail art is. Also, she kept telling me to check and recheck my nails to make sure I was happy with them so I wouldn't have to come back and waste my time or HERS. If that weren't enough, she couldn't even get the SIMPLE Hello Kitty bow correct, even while staring at the picture. She kept making it almost vertical - not even CLOSE to how it's supposed to look. When comparing her work to my picture, she looked completely dumbfounded when I told her it wasn't the same and got offended when I asked her to change it. She then said, "Okay this is it, no more changes, right?" THAT WAS THE ONLY CHANGE I ASKED HER TO MAKE!!!! I couldn't believe how rude she was! The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because the owner was an angel. She was super sweet and made sure I was happy. I didn't want to make my manicurist look bad in front of her, so I hugged them both and said I was happy. But, I won't be returning. And the manicurist did NOT deserve the $5 tip I left her Saturday. read more

I happened to be in the area and I needed to get a pedi. The place is very nice and they have a lot of spa tubs. They spend time with you. Give you a long leg and foot massage. The service is so good that I added on a mani. Everyone is nice and funny. Just know that they only take credit card if you spend at least $35. read more

I LOVE this place and I will definitely be coming back regularly!!! I wanted to get a set of acrylic nails, and I wanted them "stiletto" or "almond" shaped, and a friend of mine recommended this place, and specifically a girl named Thuba. They are open until 8 during the week (or at least on Fridays) so I went in that night, and I waited until Thuba was available. She was awesome and she did a great job! My nails came out exactly like I wanted! Perfect length, shape, and they weren't too thick! Thuba was really nice and she took her time. I got shellac over the acrylic because I wanted the color to last long, and that is the ONLY reason I took away a star, because it's been 2 weeks and I lost the shellac on a bunch of nails already. Everything else was better than I expected though! You should absolutely give this place a try! It looked very clean, and everyone was friendly! read more

This has been my go to nail salon since it opened. Service has just disappeared. The last time I came, I waited over an hour when they told me 15 minutes and my technician got up and LEFT me during my pedicure literally every two minutes to answer the phone and ring someone up. Mind you I am a regular and I tip well ALWAYS but the service should be consistent regardless of those two factors. I am sitting here now and the technician just left my parent sitting in the chair mid-pedicure to wax someone else. 10 minutes after having waited 30 minutes in tepid water before even starting!
